Wallpaper Question - HTC EVO 3D

I don't like how the wallpaper doesn't scroll. Like the I go to another home screen, the wallpaper doesn't shift how it did on my Hero. Anyone know how to change the wallpaper from being static?
Sent from my 3vo

You have to complain to htc because they added the carousel without the option to not use it. Their contact link is in another post of mine.somewhere or just go to their sure ante complain so they can update it ota

I don't think that there is a way you change it unless you download adw launcher or launcher pro from the market. you can use many different transitions, wallpaper scrolling effects, etc. although I'm not sure if you want to not use htc sense.

Damn. Oh well, I love Sense too much to care about the static background. I might just go back to live wallpapers then. Any suggestions besides Nexus, my favorite?

[Q] Rotate Animation like the iphone when turned to landscape from portrait?

this would complete the evo3d i dont know why is not added towards display>animation but ive noticed the motorola photon 4g does.
Use adw launcher pro, I love sence but I also love landscape mode haha you get way more options to customize your screen and set it (your screen) to what ever suits your needs brah. But since we now have a new kernal I think we can work on landscape mode for sence.

its to expensive y would you pay 15 bucks for something like spb shell, adw launcher ex is awesome, you get great themes with amazing icons, besides you can use beautiful widgets, i had spb shell and it was a waste of money. my opinion thoo, give them both a try and c what you like bro if you like the carousel and landscape mode with awesome icons go with adw..
+100 for adw ex. Been using it since it came out and have tried A LOT of others and nothing
compares (in my opinion, of course). Some people also swear by launcher pro(plus).
But $15 is WAY to much for spb shell imho. Its not even that nice.
I know they have something like this in the default browser of the internet if you type "default:config" or something like that....I'm pretty sure that's not the command, but there's a setting in the advanced part and its just an animation.

Is about:debug and just check smooth rotate but it won't give you nothing close to the iPhone or iPad rotate animation , thats one of the things the make ios seems faster and less blocky, that's one of the things I hated in my honeycomb tablet, looks worse in bigger screen , then a phone , Idk why Google don't work in effects I mean I don't think is hard to do them

Is there not a way to get this animation in as a default, as i really like Sense 3.0 and would not want to hop onto another home launcher just for this feature.
As of now when we rotate the screen the browser/apps flash and go landscape, would be nice having that rotating animation in like the honeycomb tablets and iPhone.
PS. what's this 'config:' thing? i remember doing it on htc Desire but it only gave me certain advance options, and not a animation section

you can go landscape with spb as well located on its home launcher settings
Go Launcher Pro ftw
Guys, guys, guys (and possibly girls)! The question wasn't "What's a launcher that allows for landscape mode?" It was "how can I get rotation animations ala iPhone?" I can confirm launcher pro and ADW launcher do NOT have this feature. From what I understand, it was removed just after 1.6 and it wasn't "possible" with the new graphics framework put in for Android 2.0.
That said, I have noticed that most of the motorola phones that have come out in the past year have them so I don't know why HTC can't have them. It might be something that needs to be implemented on the manufacturers side or it might be a hidden feature of the OS now. I have been looking for this for the Evo 4G and now the Evo 3D (I own both) to no avail. I will try this SPB shell and report if and report how well it works.
Tried SPB Shell 3D. No dice. Cool interface but that's about it. Hopefully Ice Cream Sandwich keeps the honeycomb animation and integrates them into the stock phone interface.
I did the about:debug on the stock browser and now it has a rotation animation but it's only limited to the browser (good for now though)
One question: now that I've got the smooth rotate on, how do i remove the debug options so they don't show up when i click menu or go settings in the browser?
Thanks

[Q] Live wallpaper stops in between homescreens

I just got a 16GB WiFi HTC Flyer. It's on stock GB 2.3.3 and using Sense 2.1 for tablet. I like to use live wallpapers, and I'm certain that the flyer can handle them, but when I swipe back and forth through homescreens, the wallpaper seems to pause in between screens. I don't know if this is because of Sense or if it's perfectly normal. Anyone else experience this problem and if so how did you fix it?
Mine too, evo 3d works fine.
Sent from my PG86100 using XDA App
I believe that this is a sense issue. If you have another launcher running and a live wallpaper the transition is smooth.
Out of curiosity, what LWP are you using?
Weather on both
Sent from my HTC Flyer P512 using XDA App
I thought it may have something to do with Sense as well. I used launcher pro and tested the Sense photo blur LWP and the transition was smooth. I hope this issue is addressed in an update. It's not a huge deal but it does take away from the user experience.

I agree, its very hard not to notice it.
I believe it's because in newer versions of Sense (I think from 3.0 and above) there is a problem with the launcher can't detect the transitions or the screens' positions or something like that..
There are some wallpapers that say in the info part "not compatible with sense 3 devices"
Even in normal wallpapers you can notice that when you move from screen to another, the wallpaper remains still and doesn't show more of if you understand what i mean

[Q] Slow app drawer

I've noticed that the stock Sense app drawer scrolls incredibly slow in the "All Apps" tab and isn't much better in the "Downloaded" tab. Compared to ADW EX it scrolls about as quickly as Verizon gets updates out. Has anyone else experienced this?
My Sense app drawer scrolls just fine.
I have tried both LPP+ & ADWLauncher EX in mine & while both work very well I didn't really notice any speed difference between any of them.

Absolutely! Especially when you use a live wallpaper. It's crawling at about 15FPS it looks like.
I've just decided to either stick with a static wallpaper in Sense, or use whatever I want to in GO Launcher and enjoy the high speed smooth scrolling
I guess I never noticed because I never saw the point in using a Live wallpaper.

I don't typically bother with LWP's either, but I like the ICS Phase Beam LWP, so I tried it out. It's not smooth enough though.
Hopefully having real ICS on this phone with hardware acceleration will help the app drawer to be smoother.
IDK how all that works though or if it effects all aspects of the visual experience or not.
Well, I'm not using a live wallpaper. Just wallpapers from my gallery. I wanted to give Sense a try and I do like it, but the reduced speed of the app drawer is enough to convince me to switch back to the speed & added functionality of ADW EX.
It's not slow, it's designed that way. It is meant to show one full slide at a time rather than flocking through all of them at once. It's just how sense is, you'll need ti install another launcher to change it.

Jim - Yes, I'm aware that it's set up to scroll. Thanks for the heads up on that for anyone who hadn't figured it out. However...
I fixed it. I was scrolling through the app drawer today and hit the "Menu" soft key. I found an option to display the drawer as an alphabetical list instead of an icon grid and now it's fast as can be! I also love the list because it's more readable. I know this might not work for everyone, but hey, it's better than waiting for one slow page after another, right?

Coldfustion's 3D UI Tutorial

has anyone here implemented this 3d UI? i am wondering if it is a bit laggy for our snapdragon processor's.

Doesn't work as wallpaper scrolling doesn't seem to work.
I tried to do this to my Note and had problems getting the wallpaper to display correctly. It would do some weird split screen thing and it looked like crap.
I am also interested to see if anyone can get it working.

These shows how versatile ADWEx is.....I don't think this sort of setup is for me....but it's cool.

Yes....scrolling is an issue with most Launchers on our Note....aShell launcher is the only launcher I have been able to get scrolling to work.
You could try using aShell for this setup, it is based on ADWEx.
i'll save the $ for now i reckon & stick with Zeam until something visually stunning comes along
I've got almost everything setup with a 3D UI on my Telus Note using Go Launcher EX. Like the rest of you, the only thing that doesn't work is the scrolling wallpaper.
Scrolling works find on GoLauncher. I had to disable and re-enable but then it worked just fine.
Also at the end of the vid he states that if you add a new homescreen it messes it up.

Can someone describe what's going on when you try and swipe between home screens?
Do the icons move with the adw ex transition but the wallpaper doesn't (stays static)?
Make sure you have wallpaper scrolling enabled in adw ex settings.
I may have the completely wrong idea but that's what it kind of sounds like..
lol it's a great UI once you get it going, trust me!

My note works fine with the ADWLauncher EX. The Facebook widget works great i just need to get the font like Cold Fustion. Also the Font for the Calendar. The background on these wont go away as i dont see the options to get rid of them. Other than that the scrolling is fine. Just enable the Scrolling Wallpapers and your good.
Yea wallpaper scrolling is a lot more fluid on the international version. Are you rooted?

Hi there, has anybody managed to get ADW EX wallpaper scrolling to work on their US note yet? I was notified today that this problem is still around.
I just find this really strange..

How do I get panoramic scrolling wallpaper?

Excuse me if I missed it but I'm interested in getting my wallpaper cropped, panoramic, and scrolling as they did in my Galaxy S2 and Fascinate. I know some people are using different launchers to accomplish this. Which one and are they able to crop the wallpaper properly prior to setting it? I also have one other request. I need my live wallpapers to scroll as well since I have one that slightly rotates in either direction when panning thru my home pages. Why is this feature not included on the Note? I sure do miss it. Thanks for your assistance.

I was wondering this myself. I was quite boggled when I went to make my wallpaper my favorite TRON: Legacy wallpaper with LauncherPro and it was completely wrong.
I can get them to scroll when using ADW and Go launchers but it doesn't change the fact that we have to crop them in a portrait shape instead of a landscape shape like we want. Also, my live wallpaper will not rotate no matter what launcher I use. I'm doubting ICS will give us this option either. Maybe a custom ROM is our only hope Great, back to the custom ROM world of bugs...
Autosize DbD wallpaper set is the app you need to pick up to crop or fit a wallpaper correctly without having it enlarged.
Scrolling wallpaper works for me on the launcher called ashell
Both these apps are free and lightweight
Sent from the only smartphone designed by Chuck Norris
Do you think this will allow live wallpapers to scroll? I have several that move when moving from page to page when used in my galaxy 2 or fascinate
If you use the skyrocket wallpaperpicker.apk (will try and post it up later)
it allows landscape selection.
