Hello I have a sonyericsson x10i, I would like to do a hard reset, I tried with the ignition key is left-right, but not reset. Google has blocked the account.
Go to settings, privacy then u should see factory reset

On your PC start seus ( Sony Ericsson update service)
Then when it tells you to connect your phone in flash mode,
* pull the battery out
* connect to micro USB
* hold back button on phone
* put battery back in
Then you should be able to repair your phone

k, thats not the real question, but its the third time I am asking this question:
[Q] How can I solve the 'unable to start wifi' problem without having to reset to factory defaults?
-Wifi just wont start
-All stock phone, no mods
-New no drops
-Turning off and on again does nothing
Can someone please answer my question before this thread gets shut down with little to no explanation?
Repair with seus or pc companion or flash with flash tool. Links to all 3 from in the guide in my signature

Stock phone should be covered by warranty yeah?

Flashing with seus or pc companion yes definitely you would still have warrenty. With flashtool, no, you need root to flash which voids your warranty. I would try seus first and if that hasn't fixed it return the phone to where you purchased it. This might fix your wierd google problem too which iv never heard of before.
Edit
Flashing with sues will wipe all data, games, sms so you want an app called my back up which saves your apps, games, sms etc but not game save points. Root is required to do that...

But flashing with SEUS also wipe user data, like factory reset, just for info.

It is so much faster to solve problems when people are actually willing to fix them.
It's like saying, how can I fix my cars brakes without removing anything and using no tools.
A better question would be how do I backup the following so that I can run SEUS and reinstall 2.1....then start listing the apps you want to backup. For some apps, all you need to do is copy the data.
Most apps store their stuff on the SDCard, and that doesn't get touched when you use SEUS and reflash. But better be safe and mount the phone on your computer and copy all stuff off the phone.
Backup your contacts (sync using your gmail account) or you can go that extra step (which is a pain and really isn't needed unless you need to backup txt messages) and you would need to root and install something like Titanium Plus and backup with it.
The solution to your problem (if you have already tried reseting your router and changing the password or encryption on the router.,...even when it works on some other device) is to wipe it clean.
Thanks for info.
So this seems to be a deeper issue I presume. I will try to rest my router and change the encryption - its just weird how i works one moment then just stops.
Btw, do X10 phones have a hard reset? So the iphone has one where you hold the top button it will reset your phone like you restart a computer, can this be done with the X10?
Yup. Go under Settings->Privacy
But a factory reset isn't as good as a complete reflash using SEUS from Sony.
I have fixed 3 phones by logging into a router admin page, and changing the encryption from WPA2-PSK to WPA-PSK or changing from WEP 64 bit to 32 bit.

Is there a restart method that wont erase your data? But one that isnt "power off" then "power on"?
I had an iphone before and the hard boot method virtually solves every problem
I've checked out the sony ericson official problems, and a lot of people are having this problem
Looks like a hardware issue.... I'll keep my fingers crossed and hope that its not, and that Gingerbread will answer my prayers
Right well, SEUS and PC companion didn't do it, BUT I turned the phone off, then removed the battery, sim, and SD card. Waited about a minute, then put it back together.
And for some reason it all works now.... thank god.
Otherwise, Thanks for the help everyone!
Hey guys,
after trying to get a new ROM yesterday with new Kernel and so on, I didn't pay attention for some minutes and ****ed up the software/os that was running on my phone.
Then I thought as always "Well, what's the deal? Just get the Sony Ericsson PC Companion and get the original firmware back!"
- After doing that, I noticed that my phone did boot as usual. Then, I had to enter my PIN Code for the Sim Card but after entering it correctly, my phone shows me just my background wallpaper and thats all.
I dont see any buttons or anything else, just the notification bar and the background without any symbols or shortcuts.
If I boot without my SIM Card, everything works as usual. But with ANY sim card, my phone doesn't boot properly!
I did google the mistake 10000 times, please, help, anyone? !!!
Greetings, Ray.
Please, I don't want to be bugging but I need the phone tomorrow again, is anyone out there able to help me? Every single hint would be helpful!
Thanks

Who's your provider for network? It look like a network provider issue to me or a locked sim card. I would recommend you go to your network store and present that question there or call them and tell them.

The problem is I also tested it with another sim card which is connected with an different provider and still the same issue.
Factory reset and try

Seems like its my last option. If I run SEUS over it, they cant see that I did use some different OS systems, or?
And yes, it happened first time after I used SEUS.
tried it 1000 times :/
Hi guys, sorry if there is already a thread about this but I'm travelling at the moment and don't have the time/wifi/computer to browse fully.
Anyway, my problem is my friends SE xperia x10 (not be mini or pro) had this problem where out of nowhere the Internet app just crashed as soon as it opened, and wouldn't even wait for you to click on the buttons for the error message, that just closed. Thinking it was probably just a ram error or whatnot, I rebooted it.
So now the phone turns on, goes passed the white SE logo onto the boot logo, and there it remains in a loop. I've tried looking around with Google and on here, but I can't seem to find the answer... I think.
The room isn't custom, it's just the stock branded gingerbread from virgin Australia.
It will connect with Flash tool, but it says usb debug is off, which I can't change, but on the current computer I've gained access to to I don't think it has MTP drivers so not sure if that would effect it.
I have also installed the companion suite, not useful.
Also installed the SEUS software, which I've had to do all of in safe mode cos the computers are slow as anything and have administration protection.
So, any advice would be awesome at this point. My friend wants to keep whatever is on there currently like her photos and contacts so on, but if there is no other way I'll have to re flash it if I can.
Any help greatly appreciated guys, thanks
Pictures are on SD Card, and they are safe. If he/she didn't backup Contacts earlier, they will be,for sure, erased with flashing new Rom.
If that phone was rooted, and have Xrecovery, than download some Rom (for flashing with Xrecovery), and put on SD Card. Then reboot in Xrecovery, first wipe everything (factory, cash), go to Partition Menu and Format System, Data and Cash. Then go back to Main menu, and choose Install custom zip from SD Card, find your downloaded Rom, and flash it.
If you don't have Xrecovery, or abovementioned solution didn't helped, I think that only solution is to reflash Stock Rom again with SEUS. If you can't use SEUS with your PC for flashing, find another PC.

I recently bought sony xperia u. It turned out that it has multiple problems. The phone is locked to Orange but i have the unlock code. However everytime i turn off the phone, i have to enter the code again. It happens with all other settings, they are not saved after restart. There is more to it, wi-fi can't turn on. When i try to clear the internal memory, nothing happens. Even more, there are pictures and call logs, when deleted, they come back after restart. While working errors about stopped processes appear all the time, and some apps can not be opened for the same reason - errors as "stopped working".. I hope you have some suggestions for repairing my phone :crying:
