Hi guys I wanted to get my Vibrant from custom rom n rooted to stock rom and unrooted
i read bunch of thread including the [ROM] OFFICIAL T-Mo Vibrant JFD ODIN/Nandroid Backup Images 7/29/10 (Tested/Working)
but i can't figure out which is the right method i need to use...
i didn't use Odin, i used OneclickRoot and Rom manager to install clockwork recovery and the custom rom (nerov3)
so can anyone give me a step by step process to how to proceed w/ the back to stock
i would really appreciate it
thanks
Just read up on the ODIN.. when you go back to stock, you'll be unrooted automatically

I just want to say Thank you for the link you provided. Most posts replying to questions are the usual "just do a little searching ..." and no one ever provides a starting point.
I've spent a lot of time "searching" and running into conflicting information or information pertaining to a completely different issue.
So again, Thank you for the link. It made this post simple.
[EDIT] I almost forgot to ask jimprime, why are you wanting to go back to stock and unrooted ?
I have not yet rooted, but have noticed a lot of people are looking at going back to stock and I am curious. Why root in the first place?
well first its not really my phone second i just wanted to try out froyo on the vibrant didn't c much difference and i didn't really find it that much faster than the stock and i switch back to stock
yea this helps out alot

Just download B.0.8 and flash via recovery? They have obviously rooted it if it has CM7.
turn the phone off and power on holding volume down,What does it say??
if you really want to go stock and lose root download HTC Sync then try the RUU
Or for a stock 2.2 rom rooted (but apart from root it is stock)
DOWNLOAD
Hi there, I'm really sorry if I'm bugging, I just want to make sure I'm going to do this right.
I'm currently running the latest stable version of CM 7 on my HTC Legend and want to revert to completely stock firmware (no root, no nothing) because I'm giving it away.
In order to revert to stock, I just:
- install HTC Sync (so the drivers are all there) and
- run the RUU I download and...that's it?
Thanks in advance for your answer.
P.S. Cyanogen Mod 7 is really fast on the Legend, great improvement, however battery life is pretty bad (less than 24 hours), the wifi (although a lot more sensitive) switches on and off and worst of all, the phone itself reboots randomly, even when I'm not using it, it's just in my pocket...Might just be my problem, still I need to revert to the original stock.
That's exactly what you do You may want to backup text messages and things if you are moving to another Android Phone (e.g. Titanium Backup and SMS Backup + Restore)
Go to Shipped ROM's to find the ROM you want to revert it to

Titanium Backup if you plan on rooting your next phone, keep that in mind. Wouldn't want backups you couldn't use now, would ya?
Have fun!
Thanks a lot guys!! This info is a lot of help! The process just seemed a lot easier and more straight forward than the modding itself.
I'm sorry to have to revert but it really came as a surprise that Cyanogen had so many issues on my Legend after hearing so many great things about it, but, as I said, it might just be my device...
Off-topic: My personal device is a Galaxy Ace with Android 2.3.4 leaked firmware and it runs great. I'd love a Cyanogen Mod on that as I'm sure it would work a lot better than on my Legend.
Just a quick q, Was it overclocked when you experience these reboots?
No, it wasn't overclocked. The phone ran stock firmware (no root) until 3 days ago when I decided to try out Cyanogen.

Hi
I had troubles using the RUU method to get stock back, so I used BlaYos rom. It works great to.
Hello
I just want to clearify. Ive used cyanogenmod 7.2, root of course and also simple2ext.
Will this method restore it to factory status? I'm giving it to a friend and I need it to be original.
Thanks
Hi there, Forgive me if there is a thread already for this. But I have a T-Mobile UK Motorola Atrix and i want to reinstall the firmware that came with the phone. I was unable to do a backup of the stock rom and Currently have a Stock French rom on the device. Is there a way to put the original rom on it and lock the bootloader?
Thanks Adam
Ill second this request too.

This is SBF file which will get your mobile to stock and also will lock your bootloader (it's not going to be locked again but it will remove "unlocked" from top left corner).
In order to use sbf files you need to download RDS lite and have moto drivers installed. (If you are already unlocked then you will have all this tools)
This is link to original thread:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1125944
REMEMBER this is an SBF file and it's not the safest way to go back to stock (but the best) and can brick your mobile if your pc is going to stop working/freeze/resboot while applying sbf...
Hope this help
P.S I did go back to stock this way and gave my phone for warranty without any problems.
I have a nandroid backup of my setup (2.2) would you like me to upload it?

This will only get you back to stock but you still will have "unlocked" on the top left corner. Just FYI
Thankyou
Thankyou for all your help I have the T-Mobile stock rom back on it now. I had to do a hard reset to make it work though. Just a note to anyone thinking of doing this. Does anyone know how to make the Atrix boot faster? It takes ages on the t-mobile screen. I have rooted it and was thinking of Freezing some parts of the OS but im a bit worried incase it messes up

i wouldnt bother, youd see a much bigger difference if you were using cm7 over one of the bloated moto roms boots super fast after first boot

I wanna make sure to do exactly what I have to.. if it got bricked well wtf but at least I did what I should..!!
Thks
t mobile
i have the t mobile uk 2.3.4 sbf save on pc
I really need the t-mobile uk sbf. How can I get it from you Ashley, can you upload it somewhere? thanks
did you ever upload the stock sbf file in the end because im looking for it aswell and all the links i find are dead :-s
Any help would be great
Hi, Can someone please re-upload the SBF from the start of this thread, I need to remove the unlocked and back to stock.
Thanks
I'll try and do it later this evening, check Sam Cripps Atrix Reboot Project thread at the top of this section, that's where I'll put it.
Done, it`s here http://samcripp.com/files/. I haven`t ever flashed this myself, but it`s straight from moto thro their updater SW so should be intact. I`m sure you`re aware there may be risks involved flashing an SBF, that said, enjoy!
Thanks.

Yea, thats the first thing you always do. Make a backup and store it some place safe. THEN start experimenting lol.
Ok, got the backup made, flashed Eclipse 2.2.1. I like this much better than stock. Last night I was tinkering with it and installed Supercharger v6 script on it. I ran several different options and then after restarting, it was constantly on roaming for data. It was fine before, I flashed my backup back onto it and re did everything. It is back to normal. Does anyone know why it would be on roaming. Thanks for being patient with a new guy. People on here are a great help

Not sure but you can always check your settings. I had a rom on one of mine a while back and it came as default to rain outside of my home area somehow. Also, try to update the PRL. Not sure how to do it with your carrier. Mine is *228(Alltel) .
Also, how did you do your back up? Im wanting a custom ROM on mine but I have no ABC if all foes bad and I'm not sure I could do a Nandroid.

You have to install BSR first. After that, power off your phone and plug it into your charger. It will take you to recovery so you can make a backup, install roms, etc...

Thanks soo much. Got a backup finally! Now to figure out how to install a custom ROM
2.3.6 Rom?
Skinzaholic:
I have a MX2 which belonged to my brother (a technologically inept moron who took the 2.3.6 update). I was finally able to gain root yesterday, and since then I've been looking for a custom rom to get rid of motoblur. Everything I've read about eclipse says that it's for 2.3.4/2.3.5 only, and will not work for 2.3.6. When you flashed it, was it fully functional for you?

All great advice. Just remember you bsr is trash when you wipe system OR data!!
Or even the rom fails to boot. Almost anything can upset bsr on the quaint Dx2. Or the Mx2 same phone ReRecovery works on it also.

Rerecovery has never worked for me.
Also all Roms work on 2.3.6. The down side is it is not downgradable. Check out the mx2 folder in my android crap folder. The link is in my signature. I kept the zips for several Roms in there. If the gapps aren't there Google for them.

Sorry to hear that. You need to "roll your own" see the latter portion of the 3rd post.
Known issue-it just won't take on some mx2's.
Me and a few others in this forum need a stock tmo rom on 1.27.531.7. Would it work if i were to just edit one of the the "stock-rooted" roms on my pc and delete the superuser.apk, save, and then flash the rom? I was going to try it but just seemed to simple for someone else to not have suggested it, and with my luck something would go horribly wrong. Would i need to edit anything else or do you think it would work? Thanks..
I just swapped my One at the tmobile store today and backed up the stock Rom before root with TWRP. Not sure what baseband version though. When I get home I will check it out and post a link if it is what your looking for.

I just flashed a custom kernel with r/w and deleted the superuser apk and bin, then flashed back to stock kernel and everything is all good. Im sure others could use your back up though, it was really hard to find the "correct" stock rom for me.:good:
