[Q] HTC Hub force closing? - HTC EVO 3D

I've searched the Q&A section, but haven't found a topic on this. Is anyone else having the issue of HTC Hub force closing when selecting the "Apps and Plug-ins" option? I have not been able to get into that option, however all of the other options work without issue. Any ideas?
EDIT: I figured it out. Apparently it did not like that I previously installed the teeter apk from the original Evo. I uninstalled it and now everything is cream cheese.

[Q] market fix for updated market

has anyone come up with a fix for the new market? Mine just keeps force closing. I need my market back. HELP! PLEASE! I've tried everything and nothing works. I searched the forums and tried all the information given in the those post and got no change. I would try just about anything at this point. I even deleted my browser as suggested by another senior member. nothing is working. any suggestions?
Might help to let us know what firmware you're running.
I've never had any problems with the current Market running Brilliant Corners.
Settings/languages and keyboard/ and set default language to English. Problem solved for me. Found that solution by searching these forums. Might depend on what ROM you are using. I'm on CM7.

Wow, that worked for me. I changed the language from some other English to English United States and now the Market doesn't force close.
Btw - I'm on Vegan 7.0.0
not just a firmware problem
I'm running C/CV6 but I've read through these forums several times over the last few days and I've learned one thing for sure. It's not a firmware problem. It's a problem in the update process itself I believe. I'm not a programmer by any means but after reading severals posts regarding this problem, I was able to see that this issue is hitting all the different ROMs across the board. So if it was a ROM issue then it would be confined to just those users. The only thing in common between all users is that their market was working fine, they got the update, and now their market force closes. I have done several different things trying to repair the problem, but was unsuccessful at resolving it. I tried the whole default English language thing in my settings. Didn't work. I deleted my Dolphin browser. Didn't work. I cleared the market cache. Didn't work. I unistalled the update. Didn't work. Each time I made a change, I restarted the tablet so that the changes may take effect. I would really like to get this working. I was about to put some of those classic game emulators on my tablet and some games but I don't wantto go to all the trouble in case I have to wipe the whole tablet and start over entirely. I'd rather not do that either if I don't have to. Thanks for any help guys, all suggestions at this point are welcome.
UPDATE: I just turned my tablet on and the market is now working but it' still the old version. I imagine once it updates, it will start doing this crap again.
keyboard language
I changed my keyboard to "English US" and now my market works again.
I'm on gtabcomb 3.3 bl1.2
Thanks for this help.

ICS Widget engine crashing..

Their have been several reports of the widget engine crashing on some ICS ROM's in the developers forums. From what I have found out is an issue with the layout of the screen this is causing the issue. I you notice, the widgets that have a 5x size are the ones that are crashing. Lets use Jorte Calendar as an example. Install Jorte and try to load a widget, it crashes. Ok, now go into Jorte setting > widget setting, and make all the 5x widget unavailable. Problem solved. This problem does not exist in other launchers, on in the default launcher.
I would have posted this in the developers forum, but I am new to this forum.
The development area would've been the wrong place to put this. Due to the fact that that section is for dev's to post their creations and such.
As for your problem I am not sure. I couldn't open then personalize tab when I was running ICS. Usually a reboot fixed that problem though.

You must not have understood my post. The developers do not know what the problem is. I was stating that I have a clue of what the problem is.
The problem lye's in the way the launcher deals with widgets that are too big for the screen. When the launcher tries to access a widget that is too big for the screen layout (4x4), the widget engine crashes instead of ignoring the over sized widgets.
Our threads differ a little bit. I'm making a list of bad apps, while you got a potential solution. you may want to PM a dev. they can work magic
Okay. THanks
I have only experienced the widget FC on one custom ROM. I believe it had something to do with one of the apps I installed, because it worked fine until I started downloading applications from the market. I tried a few times to reflash to pin point, but I didn't have a lot of time to see if that was the main cause of the issue.
personalize problems in ICS
I finally gave up on ICS yesterday after struggling for a week with problems with personalizing screens. I tried to narrow the problem down to specific apps, but eventually concluded that it was not caused by specific apps involving widgets. Every time that I downloaded more than a half-dozen apps from the market, I would start getting the "unfortunately, personalize has stopped working" messages, preventing me from adding any further apps to home screens. I could continue adding widgets or shortcuts, but not apps. Not even rebooting helped, and I would end up having to re-flash the ROM and start all over. It seemed to depend on the number of market apps that I downloaded, not necessarily the specific app. Even apps without widgets such as quickboot would cause the crash after the first half-dozen apps were downloaded.

Joelz latest sense rom has a fix included that will eliminate this problem. It completely worked for me, and I was having it big time.
Thanks, I will check that out. You are TheMan!
Edit: actually, it was his ROM that I was using when I had all the problems. It was ICS Sense Redefined-Always Brilliant![Sense 3.6][4.0.3]. I could never get past the personalize problem to add more than a few app short cuts.
even after jolez fix im having problems on scotts rom... i had no problem on his 2.3 but when i flashed his 2.4 all hell broke lose... i cant even some apps from the market like engadget? and no i havent done any other modding except installing apps?
anyone have any ideas bc right now i only have about 20 apps installed that actually work
Same here. Lots of FC's and some apps don't work.

I had to bail on ICS after struggling mightily to resolve the personalize problem, and I was scared to death about bricking the brand new phone after fighting the mainver problem seeking a return to stock root. Luckily, I found the RezRom GB Rom that includes an automatic fix for reversion from ICS. I highly recommend it, though I quickly nandroided back to stock root. I will be going back to RezRom this weekend when I have more time to tweak it.
The FC's of Sense and personalization appears to be related to apps installed on the SD Card.
Go into settings > apps > on phone (2nd tab) and uncheck any apps that have a check mark and move them to the phone.
If you have none checked and still getting the FC's then for sure I am wrong.
^ but none of mine are on the SD card?
Getting it on cleanROM 3.0 for the first time, no apps on sd card.

[Q] MeanBean 3.09 Update Issue

So, I'm new to this forum but I'm not new to flashing roms, mods and the like. I dont even know if this will work but here goes.
I recently flashed the updated MeanBean and found an issue that I cant seem to solve. I use Google Now alot, well, at least once a day. after searching something I try clicking on a link to launch the link but the phone doesnt load anything and gives an error message that reads "No app found to open URL".
I have gone into settings and looked at the app association and web URLs are associated to Chrome but still no dice.
One, is there another setting in a location that I am not looking in that could solve this?
Two, is anyone else having an issue with this while using Meanbean?
Three, If this is an issue with MeanBean, I would like it to be fixed. this is sort of crippling GNow.
I would uninstall Google Search, then reinstall from the Play Store. See if that fixes the issue.
The advice is free....the bandwidth, not so much

Or, re-install the update, there's another.

that's the answer.
Or post the issue on the Meanbean forum. Mikey and the Meanbeaners are really good about responding and resolving issues which are found on Meanbean.

thanks for the advice. i'll try re-installing search first then re-installing the update.
Fixed
Alright, After a factory reset (which actually wiped my phone back to MB 3.09) the search was fixed. Lost all my data on the internal storage though (good thing I backed all apps on SD and Computer). But i did loose some pictures and notification sounds, I'm ganna miss those. Phone seems to run smoother now too. I re-installed apps, Titanium backup PRO is one of the best apps ever, EVER!! I re-flashed sticky settings, these settings were wiped too. I dont see any other issues.
BTW removing search and re-installing it didnt work.

BlinkFeed not displaying pictures

I don't know when it started, but i can definitely say it was after I unlocked and rooted the phone. I can see the articles just not the pictures in the tiles. They are grey with the article title. In setting, generic icon is shown for the news providers.
I fooled around a little in the system looking at the folder structures and tried to add a newer version of the play store to system/app. Did not work original came back and play store would not start. I reset the to factory and all was good. I later noticed BlinkFeed was not displaying pics. I have reset the phone, changed setting in BlinkFeed and tried fixing permissions. I'm lost, don't know if it was something I did.
Anybody else having similar problems?
Not sure if this applies but I screwed up my Zoe configuration last night when I moved files in an event through ES Explorer instead of through the gallery. I couldn't get things straightened out (tried restarting Zeroedit / Gallery, clearing data caches, cleaning up files in /sdcard/Android for Zoe) and just reinstalled the ROM altogether. Working again like a charm.
I would suggest not messing with any files associated with BlinkFeed through third-party apps. Don't use BlinkFeed myself so cannot say for sure.

My blinkfeed wouldn't work either after root... All you have to do is go to apps clear cache
That and redo setup blinkfeed..all mine did was keep trying to update

Mine started doing it today (sense 6.0) but I have been rooted for ages

If you have a firewall app, such as DroidWall, you need to let HTC Sense and HTC Share through. I had that issue on my Butterfly S until I figured it out.

[Q] Question - Fast moving GIF's

I didn't see this question answered anywhere. But I noticed that a lot of GIF's and stuff seem to move really fast on screen. Is this normal ? It was the same situation with stock ROM and on TrickDroid. I tried uninstalling the apps and reinstalling but the same issue is occurring. Any ideas would be awesome.
Thank you.
