[ROM] Cyanogen Froyo CM6-Latest (based on MiniCM) - v6.01 - created by slade87
I didn’t have any problems with this ROM, slade87 tried to take out the Sony’s stuff and it works.
The camera app it’s different from the other ones (I couldn’t figure it out but I think it’s the default android app?)
You could say bye bye to the album of SE, cause there is an app called Gallery 3D, it’s pretty good and simple.
I’ll be honest, I never like ADW, I’m more a Launcher Pro guy, but this theme, it’s smooth and with the option to “separate” the apps from each other’s it’s great.
The Flash player doesn’t work on the browser (damn you SE) but it’s installed so you can open swf files. (I didn’t try)
Bugs I found:
- Seems like, the keyboard light turns on with the keyboard closed :S (I think it’s fixable thanks to D4rKn3sSyS)
- The sms doesn’t have the option to save costs to.
- It’s possible to access the power options (by pressing the power button) even the phone it’s lock.
[ROM] Cyanogen Gingerbread CM7 based on MiniCM for MiniPro (v15.0) - created by slade87
What a disappointment… I was expecting much more from this ROM
The best:
The profiles in the power options, that my friend it’s a damn good idea!
The worst/bugs:
The wifi was crazy, it was almost impossible to download via market the Quadrant Standard Edition to benchmark this ROM.
The camera doesn’t support full resolution (I think slade it’s working on that)
The screen goes off when it feels like, I mean even if you are navigating throw the menu, the screen goes off.
When someone calls you, the option to answer or not it’s in front of the name.
The sms doesn’t have the option to save costs to
It’s possible to access the power options (by pressing the power button) even the phone it’s lock.
[ROM]CyaNo (R)Evolution v1.3 & CyaNoComb v1.2 - created by slade87
This is a cleaner version of Cyanogen Froyo CM6-Latest (based on MiniCM) - v6.01.
The bugs are the same except:
It’s possible to access the power options (by pressing the power button) even the phone it’s lock.
[ROM] SonyBread 4.0 Final - created by paul-xxx
I couldn’t run this ROM because it loop in the gingerbread boot animation
[ROM 16-07-2011] Andread 2.2.9 Pro v7f - created by pumakkiotto
Sorry but I couldn’t review totally this ROM because of the updates :S My phone stuck at SE logo every time I tried to update with the “fix c.1.0 ok.zip” file.
The phone reboot one time while I was using the voice app, don’t know I why but isn’t important.
The camera app it’s very good, lots of options I think it’s the vignette app (correct me if I’m wrong)
The launcher it’s simple and cool, but doesn’t support horizontal mode.
This is a very lightly and fast ROM, very good work
Bugs I found:
- The keyboard layout (I didn’t test the slade87 method, but I think it works )
- The launcher doesn’t save the order of apps.
- The sms doesn’t have the option to save costs
[ROM] CyaNoComb v1.3 - created by D4rKn3sSyS
I couldn’t test this ROM at all because the setup wizard always stops after I change the clock settings and then I don’t have a launcher :S
I tried to install the ROM twice.
This is the cost saving I'm talking about, I take this screen shot from the SONY's ROM
s
Reserved! =)

i absolutely agree with that.
A batery test alone would be nice. I've seen differences on up to 300 % from slades android 2.3 v 15 to his 2.2 cyan revolution alone. Other than that i think a comparison of features set up nice would help people, a test alone is kinda silly.

his right.
and i dont think the dev want to enter this contest and compete with each other.basically all the rom are same.
What would be usefull is some kind of comparison. So new users can make a choice easier.
But don't you see, developers will not be submitting their roms to compete. That's not the point in xda.

So with so many roms out there, I thought maybe it's a good idea to make a test to all of them.
I'm gonna give them a score from 0 to 10 to:
- Bugs
- Users vote
- Interface
- Graphics
- CPU
- Battery
- Apps that are already installed
- Others stuff
I think it's fare enough to give a preparation time to all developers, thus I'm gonna review all the ROM that has been submitted to me, by the developer of that ROM,in a PM before 23:59:59 (UTC+1) 22nd July.
After that I'm gona download all the last versions of the ROMs submitted unitl that day.
I hope the developers like the ideia =)

maybe you could see that CM is not forever the best rom in xda
it is sad that all roms are basicly a CM6 ROM
CM is good but a little bit new would be interessting
It's not a competition! It's like a comparable chart for new users, don't get me wrong please!

I suggest changing the thread title, it suggests a competition. As of right now, you have developers working together using fixes, optimizations from each other to make all the roms better and more stable, i see no reason to change that. Even just rating them still creates a competition in rankings, let alone the fact that your experience with a rom could be far different than what another user will have. This is evident in the rom threads themselves as some users experience bugs and others don't.
I think it's best to leave it as it is, comment on your experiences with the roms, rank them as you wish, just make sure that everyone knows its just your opinion and not a contest or competition.
Why don't you just review the ROM's if you want to review them? I don't see the need to set a certain time and date, why should the developers work to your timescale?

yeah but what could you change? You cant add new features, only change the stock Apps and look. Thats it!
Btw a rom with only new features but no "custom" stuff would be nice, so new "devs" have a nice blank rom to start customizing it! =)

10 out of 10 for enthusiasm but I think you should make clear from the start its your opinion if you really want to go ahead and do it.
When I first bought my phone I knew zero.
I don't know much now but everything I've learned and decided to do on this phone I've done through reading, and through trial & error.
My opinion is that beginners should learn for themselves, by trying for themselves...not being told
But thats my opinion.

Use CM6.1 instead
#TeamFenix (IRC channel: #mytouchslide on Freenode) presents Cyanogenmod 6
Details/Goal: I've owned Android phones for about 2 years now, I've always enjoyed making minor tweaks to the previously simple CyanogenMod so that it would suit my purposes (lightweight, fast, good battery life). When CM6 came along I was slightly distraught that it had taken a turn for heavily drifting from the old AOSP with Google Apps (not entirely for the worse though). So I decided that I will modify CM6 to suit my needs and eventually compile it from source instead of relying on Eugene's or the nightlies.
Changes:
2.0
-Stuff was done, or something
-EVEN MOAR AUDIO FILES
-Better bootanimation
-100% untested!
1.9 (unreleased)
-**** all
1.8:
-Rebased on newest nightly
-Removed lots of crapware
-Made a flashable .zip that will let you restore said crapware
-Played with the kernel
--Apparently broke with the kernel, must use OC kernel (I think)
-It's BLACK!
-Fixed the force closes (by way of apk removal) of the Pinyin IME/OpenWnn IME.
1.7.1:
-Minor build.prop change to allow stock Swype to install/work
-something else I forget
1.7:
-Removed Swype as it is for wrong device (try the 2 linked below
-Custom pr0tips.apk (built off LithiumMod's source, thanks guys!)
-Bootanimation is back (custom #TeamFenix one soon!)
-Bluetooth audio (possibly) fixed, see instructions below
-Fixed the provision annoyance
Flashed and running. All good.
I think I'm having poor 3G reception at this time. WiFi works though....
I can confirm Bluetooth is working!
Keyboard works except the FN and Shift indicators.
More testing tomorrow....
I was able to update Swype using my method here:

All the roms i've seen for the slide so far use ADW or HELIX launcher. To be honest I don't hear much talk about launcher pro. Is there a reason people don't use launcher pro? Or is it just personal preference?

Apps2SD isn't working, right? Or do I need to do something to enable it?
I'm already missing certain Sense elements but the things I've gained are keeping my interest.
Thanks to all devs involved!
Thanks. Great rom, camera/camcorder working. Not sure how to get apps to sd. Also Has anyone figured out how to get swype working?

Personally I HATE Helix and Launcherpro is going to be a paid app eventually, I don't an issue with people making their applications cost money but I prefer to support a developer who's work will be free forever (hopefully) and accepts donations.
and with ADW I can set the overshoot to insanely high amounts

Apps2SD works fine (tested Froyo's native move to SD, with the Dictionary.com application on a 100% FAT32 card)
I can suggest some replacements to Sense applications if you wish (Beautiful Widgets + it's widget packs are great alternatives to their stock Espresso counterparts)

I'm not quite sure, I thought I had it working but it errors out (wrong device). You could try one of these versions listed, I will contact Eugene today or tomorrow to see if he has any insight
Also I was partially wrong about the camera being 100% fixed, the flash doesn't work (I saw a commit that probably will fix it by @cmsrc so it may be working tomorrow)
edit: The camera LED only works for the camera, not external programs. The aforementioned fix should correct it.

Its not Apps2SDext, its the native froyo apps2sd
I'm liking this rom so far and will use it as my daily tomorrow and see how it goes.
Some Issues:
The only way to bring up the lock screen is to press the power button or menu button. Home, trackpad, back, genius doesn't.

What's wrong with the Froyo implementation? Personally I think the old method was a PITA
Also those aren't issues, but configurable options. See CM Settings > Input > Trackpall unlock/wake. The others seem rather redundant (do you really wanna wear out home/menu/back instead of using the trackpad? Personal preference I guess, you can set WAKE_UNLOCK in the /usr/keylayout files though if that's really your cup of tea)

It's just that on the stock htc rom it does this and I thought it was an issue. Didn't know it was as simple as mapping the keys in some config file. Thanks for clearing all this up all I need is the trackpad.

No problem, I recommend disabling surface dithering under Performance, makes scrolling much more fluid in my opinion.
This is NOT a full CM7 distro. This is installed immediately after flashing CM7 in the same manor
Features:
Designed for n98
[*]Modified build.prop for Netflix to fix the chipmunk effect (playing too fast)
Updated keyboard configuration:
Remap volume + and - to menu and back
Changes [shift]+[,] and [shift]+[.] to be < and >
Change the physical keyboard arrow keys to be oriented correctly for landscape.
Also adds support for the zoom (and probably other ipad compatable) keyboards. Home is home, brightness buttons are menu/back. Play plays, FWD and RWD are now volume up and down
NOTE: Changes from previous version is always in bold & underlined!
Installation instructions:
After installing your favorite CM7 rom
After installing Dalingrin's kernel (if you choose)
Install this zipfile in the same way with recovery's install zip from sdcard option!!
Let me know if you have any questions. The only thing in this that is truly mine is the keyboard maps. Everything else is (c) their owners.
NEW VERSION(s): (don't use unless you know what you are doing!)

So hey-- forget I said anything. Sorry if I was too harsh... As you were.

Isn't it easier just to post instructions on any mods you like (or even write a monster update.zip customize pack to make necessary drop-in changes) rather than a whole new rom distro? A new rom means a new thread. new thread means new bug reports posted to the wrong place, etc.
But I mean, hey-- forget I said anything. Sorry if I was too harsh... As you were.

This isn't a "rom" I can remove the tags on the OP if you think it's The Thing to Do(tm).
It's just a few drop-in files. It isn't the entire CM7 rom.
It's made as a zip because it's a folder tree (/system/app, /system/usr, etc) to ADD FILES ONLY to your CM7 rom.
This is not CM7, but a few things combined.
Admittedly, the boot animation and miui were included for me. I made this for my use initially. Miui is the only player I found that can play folders (not just albums/etc.)
People have indeed asked for keyboard layout/bin as well as LWP. I just added the few things I also wanted in and made a zip.
I have to agree with fattire in the sense that this is a Theme, rather than Development, and so this should be in the Themes Forum.
Perhaps a mod agrees ??

Those are equivalent to apps (just like all the other keyboard apps that have different layouts), and that Forum is the "Themes and Apps Forum".
I am not trying is disparage your work, it sounds great.
I just agree with fattire that we cannot have every different collection of pieces being a different thread in this Forum - it pushes the main Development threads off the main page.
if you don't have anything to contribute to the thread just stay out of it.
Thanks for the hard work!
Yeah really, don't knock it. Its still useful work. Thanks for your contribution, OP!
I do not have a BT keyboard for now.
I appreciate your work. i will use it as soon as i get a BT keyboard, not only ******* RF.
Thanks
I haven't contributed much but updating the latest CM7 build to be dual boot. Everyone who contributes should be thanked and not made to feel like their efforts are for nothing. Anyways that's my 2 cents. LOL
Thanks OP.
I'll have to give this a go later. Can you explain how this "supports" the zoom and other iPad keyboards? I use an apple keyboard and would like to understand.
Thanks to the posters.
It was my understanding that fattire thought this was cm7 plus a boot animation or whatever. This isn't cm7. This is merely the files needed to put LWP back into cm7, the modified files for decent bluetooth keyboard support, and a few things from phiremod that I could pull out so those who like phiremod can use the latest cm7.
Then you said move it to the themes forum. I don't care where it goes, I just wanted to be sure you understood this isn't just a boot animation. This has replacement keyboard layout ascii and binary files to properly support a bluetooth keyboard.
I would like to see the two keyboard files pushed into cm7 and this entire thread is unneeded. Everything else can be had from elsewhere. I can put the miui player, and other stuff up elsewere.

Thank you, Mr chisleu, for your very interesting mod. While I'm not a fan of a harshly limited YouTube I take the liberty to quote this:

Also adds support for the zoom (and probably other ipad compatable) keyboards. Home is home, brightness buttons are menu/back. Play plays, FWD and RWD are now volume up and down

These are much more important improvements, IMHO. I only hope that people who tried this mod may share their experiences here.
Last thing is my humble personal preferences for a CM7 code or its mod:
-- I think any CM7 release (including nightlies) can have CWR specially tooled for NC, plus with an option to make it into a bootable SD;
-- I think of returning the n17 BT/AdHoc code to a present CM7 code. I know, it takes rebuilding, but it's worth it;
-- I think of a mod supplying Divine_Madcat's I/O improved OC 1.1 GHz kernel to it;
-- CM7 nightlies include a working Gapps install script, maybe chisleu won't be afraid of The GOOG wrath and include Gapps?
-- next I think of USB Host, FM Radio CM7, audio boost devs for NC don't seem to care a lot about, but it's just me, sorry.
Great work, anyway.
This is a build ported from a vibrant setup, some tweaks that dfgas incorporated into the last few builds, some extra tweaks from here and there, and extended settings built in. It is very smooth and fast after letting it settle in for a bit.
Let me know how it is for you. You can wipe data or just cache and dalvik...I do all 3...enjoy.

Here is a link to the v6 supercharger thread...http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=18703418&postcount=5021
I would suggest installing the latest supercharger script...http://forum.xda-developers.com/attachment.php?attachmentid=792186&d=1322022964 and the app script manager...http://market.android.com/details?id=os.tools.scriptmanager
Download both, change the supercharger scripts name from .pdf to .txt, install script manager, go into script managers options and turn on browse as root, then navigate to the directory you downloaded the supercharger script to within the app, click on it, select run as root, then run. Follow the scripts prompts, and as a suggestion, I use option 7. This makes the phone fly even faster at all times even with many apps open. I would have incorporated this into the rom, but the developer would rather you visit the thread to get it.
Downloading now. Thanks!
First impressions:
(Background: Wiped all three from "mounts and storage" menu)
Appears to be based off of MIUI Android (UK port of MIUI) as opposed to MIUI.US. Not sure what diffferences (if any) apply other than the bootani and background. Amiright?
Extended settings built-in is quite awesome.
Noticed MiuiCompass wasn't in there (but DSP Manager was...awesome again). Attached in case you don't have the apk and want to add it in the future.
MMS sent over 3G on first try.
I am not sure which market you bundled with it, but I always go in and remove marketUpdater and add back in the old vending.apk. (This isn't a criticism, just something I do that might be good to know in case I have future issues that may be caused by that mod...I know I am probably rare in liking the old market.)
So far so good. Now I just need to grow a pair and figure out how to swap kernels in the zipfile so I can throw Glitch v13RC1 in there; at which point I'll truly have my "Flash one-and-done".
Great work, Rick S. Can't wait for the full list of changes/tweaks! Thanks again.
Will this work on the Telus version?

(This isn't a criticism, just something I do that might be good to know in case I have future issues that may be caused by that mod...I know I am probably rare in liking the old market.)
So far so good. Now I just need to grow a pair and figure out how to swap kernels in the zipfile so I can throw Glitch v13RC1 in there; at which point I'll truly have my "Flash one-and-done".
Great work, Rick S. Can't wait for the full list of changes/tweaks! Thanks again.

Compass.apk should be in there, but thanks anyway. Basically if porting from a "stock" setup, roms wont differ very much at all, but another difference is that the reboot options are capitalized. I would love to have glitch v13 in there, but its not publically released yet. I do install it on mine though. All you need is the boot.img and the lib/modules folder...modules need to match boot.img that was built.

Ive honestly never looked into the differences between the two carriers. Im guessing no because there are probably some rom differences along with the kernel differences.

Looks great Rick!
Thanks for sharing and spending time doing this.
I am going to give this a try now, I am coming from 1.11.4, and I have yet to try the extended settings yet, so this will be great to check it out at the same time.

I wasn't suggesting you put V13 in there. I was just commenting on my own lack of courage to do it myself more than anything. Thanks for the tip though.
Been installing apps and such basically nonstop since install and listening to music on it. No issues. I did update to Glitch v12RC1 right off the bat as well.
So far, this seems to be about as stable as the 9-16 release which has been my fall-back. I've had the fewest issues with that one. Hopefully this one will be my new 9-16. (Will find out when I get home and see how it handles the wifi/3g handoff that seems to have been causing the most problems on the latest few roms for me)

Thank you for the reply. I know there are differences the big one is one cdma and the other is gsm. I did not see the vibrant mention the first time in the OP. if anyone knows of a compatible miui for the Telus version pm me please I would love to try it
Looks great Rick...thanks again. I had issues with the other '11' roms so far and was back on the 10.28. And also big.thanks for the easy instructions for installing super charger....I couldn't get then to stick a month ago....no problems this time ( used your suggestion....will tweak later after I settle in) only issue is google+ fc at start up. I don't use it so not a huge deal.....will uninstall and install new......phone is flying.
Edit: Re-install of Google+ did the trick. Can't believe how fast and smooth this phone is running now.
Thanks for the responses. Im going to update some MIUI mods and put links in the op soon...launcher mod and screen transitions are some.

Sorry about that...my gmail seems to work fine though. I used JT's 3 button recovery fix kernel because its probably the most used throughout various roms. It doesnt have bln. You can flash any kernel you like though and it will work fine as long as the kernels allows for it.

GSM and CDMA roms/kernels aren't cross compatible. The phones share a name, that's it, they're pretty different when you get down to the nuts and bolts (or silicon and copper.)

"Hmmm. I just had huge success flashing jt's 3ButtonFix.zip kernel over the 1.11.4, making big improvements in battery and GPS. But this is an upgrade, using the same kernel, even though my current ROM is working fine. Hmmm..." thinks the flash junkie as he tries to pretend he might not go ahead and flash this anyway.
Edit: Of course I flashed it, with the script. Running great. Overnight, battery stays in high 90s.
All I can say is wow!! This is by far the most responsive miui build I've ever used, running the script on setting seven as suggested running glitch v13 ml OC`d to 1440..very smooth, plus have all the reboot options again nicely done, thanks much sir!

Edit: Linpack score 25.4, Quadrant 2850
In the past the miui builds I've run while being in my opinion nicer to use have always seemed more sluggish than Vanilla or cm7, not now..

No worries....just wanted to throw that out there. I know at the worst I will need to wipe all three. Been lazy and not wiping Data lately. Loving this big time though so the BLN is not a deal breaker in the least.
Ugghhh.. The Glitch app is FC-ing even after going back to stock ED05 and and installing this MIUI ROM from scratch. Any suggestions?

I actually ported the MIUIScotland 1.11.9 ICS framework I9000 rom to the fascinate. It seems the only difference are a couple added files within the framework and a few files elsewhere, along with the version number in the build prop. Its not even worth playing with though. There are no noticeable differences anywhere. Waist of time just in case anyone was wondering or has heard of it.

i will try that launcher thanks
ok, gallery thumbnails load but when i try to load wallpaper doesn't load. Unable to change wallpaper.
Also I have to double tap on OK button for a window to dissapear when changing something (most of the times not always)
Last...I long press wifi, it shows me the available modems. If I leave this screen and then come back to wifi options, available modems list don't appear, not even after I press scan. I have to switch off and on wifi for the list to appear.
That's about it so far!
Hey guys I'm RohinZaraki of the X8 forums...recently i started developing my own rom; GingerZaraki and since then, I've had 3 PM's asking me to port this rom for the Mini...and I even recieved this...so I wanted to ask you guys, would you really want this ROM for your phones and if so, are there any experienced testers here ? I don't know anyone here so I can't handpick Beta testers like i did in the X8 forums..if I see people interested in wanting this ROM for the Mini, this thread will be turned into a disscussion thread for the rom till it's released in the Dev section Btw, I have a 2 week break so you better make your decision fast so I can start my work early
Hope to hear from you guys soon

P.S. No trolling or flamming...
Test builds
This is where I'm going to post test builds for you guys to test and report .
Build 1-Based on GingerZaraki V02. Bugs : Lags, no torchlight option, no squash imput keyboard.
Build 2-Changes : Added squash imput, Added torch.apk, merged and added many tweaks from my unreleased V03 test build to help with the lags. Bugs : ??? (Awaiting testers)

cool!
Thats cool vro..(^^)/ thanks!
Nice work!
Install: OK
Boot: OK
Works: OK
Bugs: Longpress Homebutton on lockscreen to turn on flashlight does not work
Profile option in settings-menu is misaligned (small annoyance really, see screenshot)
Gallery feels slow and unresponsive (don't know why, it's the same as on other roms and it usually works fairly smooth)
Every now and then the UI is unresponsive, it detects all presses you do, but reacts very late, so if you press a second time because an option or app doesn't react immediately, it will send you through to whatever that option or app expects from a tap in that same area. (hope that I explain myself clearly enough)
Overall impression: fairly smooth, clean, basic CM7
Suggestion: Add SE Squashiinput (or other clean t9) keyboard, standard android full qwerty keyboard is a pain on our small screen.
edit: Desperately missing Homescreen/Appdrawer options, dock is locked, so not able to change the apps launched from there (I use my messaging app more than the browser, so i want to change that)

Thanks so much ok for the torch bug, im not too sure, may have to port the feature from a X10 Mini rom. As for the launcher, its stock 2.3 launcher so there's no customization for it you can easily download a new one from the play store As for the t9 keyboard, I'll see what i can do and as for the unresponsiveness, there has been many performance tweaks and modifications to my X8 version since the one i posted here i'll be sure to merge and implement those tweaks in the 2nd build
Sent from my E15i using Tapatalk
You might want to consider posting this rom in the x10 mini development section
I will I just wanted to make sure there are people interested in the ROM first. Plus, the Mods said you can open a thread in the general section to plan developing something ...plus i need to know if it works in the 1st place
@Everyone else : Expect a 2nd test build soon
Uploading Build 2 What to expect ; Added squash imput, Added torch.apk, merged and added many tweaks from my unreleased V03 test build to help with the lags
Build 2 is up please test and report
