[Req]Deodexed Stock Rom with bloat removed - Motorola Droid X2

Just what the title says. Or are we waiting on something?
Oh yea. I hope I don't sound demanding. Just hoping that someone uploads a clean rom sometime. Thanks ahead of time.

Seems as though everyone is waiting. Waiting for GB release, so as not bust to their asses making a rom that will be abandoned shortly after its release. Only to turn around and bust it all over again to get GB.

X2!!! Dual power???
Been waiting on this much anticipated recovery for the x2, I upgraded to x2 from DX mainly for the dual core processor! In hopes that some blurless/bloatless, overclockable roms come out!!
DX2 rooted, supercharged, backed up and waiting!!!! Enjoy and many thx to the devs!!!!!!!!!

Sounds Good 2 Me
I'm down to install whatever, as long as it has some advantage. Post rom and I will donate.

[Q] miu or cm7 fir droid x?? possible?

Hey please forgive me if this has already been discussed but is it possible in the near future that the dx2 will recieve miui or even cm7. i see the droid 2 and x1 getting major love (ironically after vzw replaced my x1 with the x2) and i really want a new experience considering that the update was NOT the improved 3d blur found on the droid 3....thankx
Well I know someone is already working on CM7. And should have a working build in a week or two. As for the other, it's up to the devs.

yes Miui and Cm7 are possible, also you can't have miui before cm7, they practically use cm7 to make miui, ergo the dx got "unlocked" at the froyo kernel from cm7, miui uses that kernel to work
Thanks for the speedy response guys. I hope we see both soon ..im really trying to like my x2

Lol yes I am working on CM7. I'm on my own on this one cuz It seems like I have little help. But I'm getting somewhere. In fact the GB leak helped me. But I'm trying billions of different ways of getting it to boot. So far I'm getting no where...
Thankx ...i really hope you're able to get a stable build up and going but i know its probably difficult with little help ...i hope the x2 dev. community picks up soon. so talented devs like yourself will have a team to work with

[Q] X2 future proof?

I just got the X2 and it's been running fine for me. It seems with the Tegra 2, this phone would possibly be able to handle Android 4.0 whenever it comes out. With the lack of development, what are the chances that the X2 will just ride with GB until its death? I like so far how the phone is working well out of the box, but in 1-1.75 years when the phone shows its age, I would like to mod it here and there to get some more life out of it.
No phone is future proof. The Tegra3 is around the croner for tablets, and phones wont be that far behind. I would bet 4g phones get the Tegra3, so if 4g is a negative for a select crowd, the DX2 may be the last great 3g phone. It will be interesting to see if they continue supporting a high-end 3g line.
I would imagine ICS would run fine on OG DX much less DX2. I would say there is a small, but possible chance a stock DX2 would die on GB. But the dev will bring it regardless.
Edit: And at this point I am 100% satisfied with everything I have flashed on DX2. What did DX have? Liberty and Apex. And yes a good bit of themes. But the devs here have a ton of scripts I never saw on DX and the themes have been coming fast, and are of good quality. The eclipse ROM has branched to AOSP, so both crowds should be happy. I personally stuck with 2.2 and couldnt be happier.

That's good to hear. ICS seems like it's going to be a new experience and I would hate to miss out on it. I'm a "noob" and so I can't demand things and my understanding is limited, but the bootlock seems to be restricting development

[INFORMATIVE]DEFY gets ICS Port and We wait for RAZR....

Guys, did u hear this??? Our Defy has already got ICS port... Can we do something with this??? Check the link below, I dig it deep and see if I can find out something useful for RAZR... BTW, it is still in first phase.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1353003
Defy is rather old but have a strong and hardworking dev community. Glad they get the ICS from devs, we will get it officially. Patience is a virtue.
I can't wait till we get ICS, however Motoblur is pretty nice

Hi all, Yeah! will be waiting for Dev to port ICS to Razr.
hope this would not take too long.

Yeah, watch at it, nothing works on there.
I'm sure ATRIX will get it too before the RAZR: ATRIX can count on other great devs like t0dbld and on an unlocked bootloader.
RAZR will get only the Motorola official ICS update 'cause even if there's at least me (I've ever been in Kernel jobs, never tried to build Android system partitions, but as someone asked me to try I will...) we still haven't got an unlockable bootloader (that will come with the ICS update) so it's useless to even try to build ICS for it.
That will result in a barely usable system as ICS will need (probably) a different updated kernel (2.6.36?) and won't work okay on our 2.6.35.
We just have to wait for Motorola to release the ICS update that will contain our joy (unlockable bootloader) and the new kernel with the new ICS system.
Ics doesn't even have flash right now. I can wait. Gingerbread works just fine for me.

Agreed. Ports never work 100% anyways. Why try to make this powerhouse look/feel like an older/lesser phone? We'll get it soon enough, and it'll be better than all other initial ICS phones, including the Nexus, in my opinion.

Yes guys, unlocking the bootloader is the first target for us.. but, did u guys check @droidrzr.com? They were able to manage to mod a partial ICS.. OTA Update I did is lagging me behind for the root, otherwise I would have given it a try... waiting for a proper SBF to unbrick if we stuck anywhere on flashing or Modding... Wait to be continued...

Could ICS be coming to X2 from Verizon?

Per Droid Life, and Twitter, Verizon tweeted that they are in the midst of updating their Software Upgrade Timeline. Droid Life is stating they feel the X2 is a yes in getting it.
http://www.droid-life.com/2012/01/1...feed&utm_campaign=Feed:+DroidLife+(droid+life)
We can only hope! I saw, tweet the snot out of Verzion and DEMAND ICS for the X2 (and adding an unlocked boot loader would be icing on the cake, er sandwich)
I have to agree with this list. Although I don't think the x1 down will receive ICS to push users to get newer devices.
It better also come with an unlocked bootloader IF we get ICS!
Good news. We deserve SOMETHING from Motorola. If not an unlocked bootloader then ICS for sure. Motorola has given us nothing but a few crappy bug fixes. lol. But Im not in too much of a hurry though since I have CM7 now.

True, very true. But, to have an official ICS means possibly that Dragonzkiller and company can REALLY go to town on CM9 for the X2!
Motorola better not stiff us on ICS like they did the boot loaders.
But, the X2 will still be my final Moto device since they lied to us about the boot loaders and have not returned a single email I've sent. And I've been cordial and tactful. No hate, no cussing, no name-calling; very business-like but frank and to the point.

This could be why 2.3.5 still hasn't been released for this phone after tht leak.... Still on 2.3.4 eclipse and running great.
I was under the impression Moto said that every dual-core device would get ICS eventually.

It didn't, only way to get GB on the OG was through custom ROMs such as CM7.
ICS maybe is better then no ICS at all... err. Think we all need patience, I am sure Moto will be pushing ICS to their 4G devices first, but who knows.

Is somebody working on CM9 or ICS for X2 or are we going to need a pushed ICS update for the kernel before a ROM is attempted?
I doubt we will get it but if we do? A 4.0 superbloated blur infested phone is what we will have. My question would be...will 2nd init likely have to be started from scratch?
sent from my cyanocrack
I'm waiting until either the bionic or razor to get it and watch their forums to see what moto has screwed up or even make it possible to root my theory is that we might have to create a new 2int which would suck

I hope we definitely get it, but if CM7 mod can get out of beta and be almost 100% working I'll be fine with that until ICS. Personally I think it's 50/50 for us to get it or not. It's arguably the best pure 3G dual-core phone on the market

I would like to believe that but the Droid X had way better reception inside buildings then the Droid X2 I currently have. I have tried everything currently running eclipse 2.0.3 with mash up mod. I been thinking about trying CM7 but not if its really better then eclipse.

Motorola not upgrading the droid 3 and droid x2 to ics because it wont improve them.

Such bull****.
Well coming from Motorola and Verizon " their " ics with bloatware would probably run worse. So it may be true

Ya well I can give a **** who owns Motorola now, I will never by another Motorola phone again. This was decided before the announcement, but it certainly doesn't help. My last three phones were Motorola, and its my fifth Motorola phone over all. Never again. I am done with their bull**** and if Google keeps up their assault on user privacy, I will toss them out as well.
Corporate America seriously needs a kick in the ass to straighten them out.

your argument has no weight until CM9 is out of alpha and has some functioning features
I would rather have a fully working cm9 if not for DK you would have no cm9 at all.
Pixelation I hope you were joking. No official ics, cutting off unlimited data and you are fine with all this?

This has absolutely no relevance. This isn't a whining post. Peoples disdain for moto and Verizon has nothing to do with the community. Everyone here is very supportive and appreciative of the devs hard work. But who wouldn't want an official ics for our phone? It would help the devs a lot. Chill out with your misplaced self righteousness.
Sent from my MB870 using xda premium
If you got official ics I bet DK would give you a Stable cm9 the next day with everything working.
We still would do well with a kernel that is for ICS.
Yawn.... I am so past this mess. Just waiting for my wireless contract to end so I can get a new phone. Until then, I'll run Eclipse until Dzk hopefully releases a more stable build of CM9X2. But, I do understand that he does have a life outside of playing with the X2, so I will not hold my breath.

I'm in the same boat as you, running Eclipse.
I've been running cm9 since release and it hasn't locked up or restarted? I find its actually not to unstable although I don't use camera and don't run many apps. Battery life is a little bit worse than cm7. Lack of flash I think is the worst I personally see.
Edit... I think cm9 would be a lot more stable for folks if they would turn off auto rotation for the time being.

I'm going to turn off auto rotation and see if that helps.
That's the only difference I can see as to why I don't have a lot of fc's or random reboots. I hope it works for you. I think cm9 gets an undeserved bad rap because a lot of people forget its a very early alpha and try to run it like its an oe rom.
