I have been setting my phone on airplane mode every night. It's always coming off of a full charge, so it's at 99 or displaying 'fully charged '.
Upon going to work in the morning, the phone has gone down to 87%. To me, that's a lot of drain for the phone not doing anything. In comparison, my NS4g gets the same treatment, and I may lose 1% overnight.
Is there something wrong with my phone, or is this normal?

Check what is using battery while you sleep. Only time I've had bad drain while doing nothing was when WiFi was left on scanning

Thanks...
Top thing on the list is phone idle 58% then display at 28%, and maps at 11%.
Not sure why maps would even be listed... probably my problem right there.

Airplane mode will drive some apps crazy when unable to connect to the internet and cause wake lock issues

The E3D goes into sleep mode at night where all the network connections are turned off if the screen is locked. There should be no need for you to put into airplane mode.

Anyone else notice that when you're on the phone and the battery reaches around 10% the phone switches off? Today it also happened at around 17%. Then when i switch it back on it switches off again
Sent from my X10i using XDA App
yes, it does so always. I check juice plotter battery graph and when it reaches 15% fall down to 0 and turns off. If I turn on, battery shows 15% again, sometimes turns off immediately, sometimes keep until the battery discharges completely!
It's a great dilemma, I think I will reflash soon
Its weird though, it only seems to happen whilst on the phone not on standby or wen using for texting or browsing

Hey guys,
I've just started having a problem with my MyTouch 4G in which it won't charge while the phone is switched on. The battery charging symbol displays but the battery % slowly decreases. I have tried using a different battery but no luck. If I go into "battery usage" in settings it says that Wifi & Cellular Idle are the 2 biggest users with 29% each. The strange thing is that these 2 are always using 29% even if I turn Wifi off and put the phone on flight mode. Another user had a similar problem and it turned out to be an app using buttloads of power but I can't identify any on mine doing this. I've done a virus scan. Any ideas?
Thanks
Do you charge by the computer or the power socket

Both. I've just done a factory reset & installed ICS to see if that made a change. I've got it plugged into the PC at work now and its finally gone up 1% in about 15 minutes. Seems a little slow and I have a feeling it would discharge pretty quickly if I started using it while plugged in. I'll wait and see what happens.
Maybe you should stop checking every 5 seconds and just wait

Where you able to fix it???
I have a Note II from At&T WITHT HE SAME ISSUE!!! :/
help!!!
I have had my White AT&T Note for about a week. It is running Saurom RCV with the HoloNote kernel OCed to 1782mHz. I am having a really weird battery issue where it will drain to about 5% in a couple of hours regardless of what I am doing to it, then that 5% will last the rest of the day but the phone, thinking the battery is about to die, wont let me do anything (ie. listen to music or take a picture). Then, yesterday it started not charging all the way, it will stop at about 94% and then the notification that its fully charged will come up. No matter what I do it will not go past 94%. Any ideas? Thanks in advance!
have you try to recalibrate your battery stats through CWM?
try that first........charge your battery to full......clear stats....drain all the battery...then recharge to full......that should help you with ur problem
First take the battery out and make sure you don't see anything on the contacts (phone or battery). Then leave the phone on until it dies on its own - easiest if you use something that will keep the screen on. Then charge overnight, unplug, replug and let it charge again until it stops. Turn it on, go through your day and report back.
I have tired both of your suggestions. I left it streaming a movie from Netflix and it took two movies at full brightness (or as full as it would let me) to kill off the last 5%. I apologize as I should have specified that I am posting on here having already tried conventional calibration techniques. Also, the stopping at 94% only started AFTER I used CWM to reset the battery stats.

I've never used CWM. Have you tried using it again?
I have noticed another "quirk", it seems that when my phone is sleeping for a long period of time, more than an hour, it will usually display more percentage than when I set it down. For instance I decided not to charge it last night as I was hoping it would die in the night however when I got up this morning it read 51% whereas it was at 26% when I left it. I am starting to think that there is something wrong with the hardware. Opinions?

I didn't nitice this till last Tuesday. I forgot to charge my note the night before, and when I woke up I had 19% left. Around 10am I received a notification that my battery is critically low. I wasn't going home till 12, and I was texting heavily for 2 hours through whatsapp on 4g network, and nothing, the phone didn't turn off. I got home and plugged it in while it was still on. The only thing the phone did was turn down the brightness completely, im not sure if that 's the reason for the extra 2 hours, but that seems too much. Before i plugged in the phone it had 23 hours on battery with 4 hours 44 mins screen on time.

Has anybody experienced any of these issues on a stock note? Also, I tend to agree, if Samsung had really figured out a way to make the end of the battery last that long we probably wouldn't be having this issue.

I exchanged my Note for a replacement at the store and that has made a world of difference. It would seem that my suspensions about my hardware were correct. If you are having the same issues I recommend a replacement.
Thanks!
Hello,
how you can read above, I have big problems with my battery since I did an update to Android 4.0.4 a few days ago. Before, I charged my phone 1-3 times a week. If I charge it now and pull off the charging adapter, my battery drains down to 0 within a few hours. After about 1 hour in Stand-By I have about 75-80% of battery life at the moment. Does anyone of you have an idea how this problem is caused? And if - what can I do against it?

I'm facing the same problem although my phone isn't rooted... And it is awake the whole time. I mean it, not a single second of deep sleep.

Don't do anything yet. Go and reboot your home router. Trust me. I had some crazy battery drain on my S2, not just on ICS but also on gingerbread. It had very little to do with the phone. Just reboot your home router and see if your drain stops. It stopped mine. I found out after I installed a data manager on my phone that my phone was downloading a hell of a lot of data, and no I am all on stock ICS. I got hardly any apps installed either.
And when I turned off WiFi and a 3G data, the battery drain used to stop. I rebooted my home router and and now my WiFi is always on and very little drain. Try it.
Better battery stats for finding your wakelocks and cpu spy to see if your device is deep sleeping
And a kernel that you can tweak

I don't know which member it was on XDA who suggested leaving the phone alone and just Rebooting your home wireless access point. But it has worked like a charm for me. No more battery drain. I don't know what the router is doing with the S2 but its causing a massive data spike in the Data stats on the phone. Reboot the router.
I found a solution for myself. Power manager service and fuel_alert were waking the phone. I just took the battery off for some minutes and voila! The phone goes into deep sleep again.

Hello,
it seems like my battery had been destroyed. I don't know how this could happen, but it happened. I turned the device off over night and wanted to start it this morning - nothing. No boot animation or something else. So I plugged in the charger - nothing. I waited about 20-30 minutes and tried to boot it- nothing. Then I tested the battery of a friend - and my phone was booting again. So I ordered a new battery for my phone at amazon.

After I installed beans14 my phone was charging extremely slow, and by slow I mean I left it on the charger when I went to bed and woke up five hours later I had only gained about 50% charge. That was about a week ago and my phone hasn't started charging normally again. And now it's to the point of discharging even while it's on the charger. When I check gsam it shows the OS as one of the biggest draws on the battery. Also the gallery is usually 5% of the draw as well even though I never use it since I have quick pic. Here is a screen shot of what gsam shows Atm. And I am now on the t-mobile tweaked Verizon rom
