Xperia play/PSP for android? - HTC EVO 3D

Ok, so I had the original Final Fantasy way back when I was a kid. In its day it was freaking amazing. Soooo I notice that the iPhone has a port of the "20th anniversary edition" of FF1 and FF2, however we do not.
This angers me.
I currently have every version of FF1 on my various emulators, however the iPhone version is a direct port of the PSP, with superior graphics/sound.
I am aware that no psp emulators exist as of yet for android, but since the Xperia play can run psp games there should be some kind of way to mod over that functionality to our devices.
Anyone have any ideas? In lieu of that, is there anyway to port over iphone games?

Currently there isn't a port of final fantasy from the iPhone yet I also would like to see this on android. For the psp emuator I think Sony has said that they would be bringing over the playstation suite to android phones that currently run android 2.3 gingerbread OS. I believe that is how we maybe able to play psp games on our devices.

Trololololol.
Emulating is not porting.
There will never be a psp emulator for android devices this year, and next year wich will be able to play a normal game on 30fps.
But what am i doing...im feeding a troll! Im outta here!

its not that easy.
They cant make a psp emulator for android. because every phone has different hardware. if there is a phone with android thats desame as a psp on the inside, then yes, sony, and with alot of work someone else, could do that.

I understand where u are coming from I thought that the playstation suite that Sony said that they are releasing would allow us to play psp games. They said devices that run gingerbread 2.3 and later would be able to use playstation suite.

Chainfire 3D to play Tegra2 Games

Has anyone here tried this on their Xperia Play?
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1097360
Just played Galaxy on Fire 2 on my Galaxy Tab which as no Tegra2. The lack of a Tegra2 chip was putting me off getting an Xperia Play, but may get one now.
People have been using chainfire for some time, to.play tegra and powervr based games
Sent from my R800i using Tapatalk
yes (forgive me being a bit behind)
Was just hoping for some Xperia Play testimony as there is no mention of the Play on the compatibility list on that thread. Is it possible to map the joypad buttons etc?

i can confirm a handfull of THD games work on the play using chainfire, alot still dont work though or crash on loading, most powervr games work well aswell
I played samarua vengeance 2 with chainfire when it was tegra 2 exclusive. I hate this competition between these companies... Why make anything exclusive

upgrade date tomorrow, think I will go for the Xperia Play
Thanks guys

I agree. Although if we wait long enough some of the Tegra exclusive games get ported over like Samurai II was.

That being said I couldn't run riptide properly. But there are reports of the galaxy on fire game working properly. There's enough games to keep you busy without playing tegra games though.

[Q] Android on iPhone/s...why??

I've just been watching loads of YouTube videos about people trying to install android on iPhones. My question is why?? Android is open source and iOS is closed source. Android users don't see developers porting iOS to android devices do we? Because its pointless and its never going to work. If they want android....buy an android device....simples

Android was designed so that it could be installed on any device. It's up to the developers to fix the drivers to work. Practical? No. Do it because we can? Hell yea!
Edit: for Yall that didn't know.. we got android on microwaves and washing machines now. Seriously. Look it up.

I just don't get it because nothing works on the iPhone version. So then its pretty much pointless. That's like me having iOS on my i9000 but nothing working within lol waste of space and pointless in my opinion

- as a challenge, to see if it's possible and if they'll get it working
- as a hobby
And last but not least:
- because they can
Or to say it completely freely:
- for the lulz
There doesn't need to be a deeper meaning behind such endeavors. They're geeks. Let them be geeks. Different people do all sorts of different stuff, these people port their favorite OS to every device they can get their hands on.

Android on Xbox And Wii

So I wanted to see peoples reaction to porting android to a Xbox or wii ? I have been contemplating putting some time and money into porting a rom for the wii I think it would be really crazy! I managed to get the android live disc running on my modded Xbox but no controls yet. Would anyone be interested in a rom for the wii if I get it working? Let me now!

The Wii would be helped by the fact that it has a massive Linux porting community. Check out Whiite Linux. Sadly, they barely have X Window running on most implementations.
On that matter, most of the android functionality is already there, it's a matter of looking pretty. Short Of Angry Birds, they've beat you to it in a lot of ways. They've got apps and even an appstore called the Homebrew Browser. Everything is very slow, but what can you expect from it? Yes, most of the good stuff is running by putting Devkit Pro on top of a weak linux, so some improvement could be had. It's not android, but it does the same things.
So far as the 360 goes, if you could put an indie game out with an intentional bug that lets you run Androidx86 off a thumb drive, you could use the Kinect to emulate touch screen. USB keyboard is available to fill in the rest.

It'd be great, but considering that the Wii is running on 2001 State Of The Art, I doubt it will be able to handle much without the official devkit (Which is illegal unless you are a major label dev). Also, everything has to be put into a binary to load, so even Whiite is being done a convoluted way. I have a bit of knowledge of running homebrew on Wii, so I can get you any info or testing you need.
Start with Froyo. Honeycomb won't happen. Maybe Ice Cream Sandwich, but not Honeycomb, for this type of project, you'll NEED kernel source.
I'd be willing to test on Wii or 360. Sounds awesome.
Wow! Right up my street. My two favs mashed together. So INTERESTED! I'm new to the 'DEV', but addicted, and learning at lightspeed. Xboxs ready and waiting 2 serve! Xbox nandroid would revolutionize the world. It would be one of the most popular PCs ever, not to mention cheap.

Found A Way
Okay, so i was doing some searching and i found something called android-x86
(wwwDOTandroid-x86DOTorg) and they have full source code for a x86/PPC version of android, gingerbread currently. which is good because of the wii which has a PPC prossesor. If you do some editing im sure someone can make android for wii.
I'd be willing to test either system android TV would be cool if we could figure that out .. wii or 360 would be excellent to have android os on it I'm thinking wii would be easy for everyone to use since its so easy to mod and the hbc delivers downloads for everyone

I hate to be cynical here, but the Wii only has 88mb of ram. I dont know if thats enough to run Android. Not to mention that Android was written for the ARM platform and the Wii is PPC.
I would be happy to see android ruining on the xbox 360. Its got to be under of the best ideas I have heard yet.

Yes this is the best idea

theoretically...PS Vita and android

would it be possible to create an android build that runs off of a ps vita game cart or as a psvita app?
assuming there arent any actual system level hacks ever achieved couldnt we just load android onto a ps vita cart or through the Playstation store as an app?
also why isnt there a ps vita forum?

Putting anything in a PSvita cartridge is quite impossible 'cause it will require reverse engineering of how it works
Also you would need a system level hack to load android on it,and since the Vita isnt with many hardware junkies....it might never happen
There is no PSvita forum because it is a gaming console and has it's own properiaty OS
im not talking about actually getting a system level hack or anything, i guess it would be closer to emulating android on the vita than replacing the system os

For that you would probably need an exploit in the Vita kernel, not the ones in the PSP emulator(the ones used to run VHBL)......
You probably have to wait for a guy developing for the VITA for that
Wait... So there is some psp emulator kind of thing available???

No.....In the PSvita the devs found a PSP emulator....or maybe there was an emulator and the devs found exploits for it.....Don't remember which ones the right thing
