rooting vibrant
hey saw the post but it is gone the link is bad
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=803682 (superoneclick) then to get cwm for eclair (2.1) http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1157002 go to that and get the update.zip off of the link and finally reboot into recovery (if you have a 2e one) and reinstall packages (may take a couple of times).
Now honestly I've never flashed with bay_wolfs app but I have gone back to stock on it since it seems to be the most consistent for me (maybe cuz its odin 1.85 or something). That's actually all its use to me, I've done nothing else with it...
Good Luck
Remember to hit the thanks.

I am coming from one of team whiskeys 2.1 roms and I havent looked much into other roms since then about 2 months ago or so. I want to try going Froyo with Nero 3. I have Odin downloaded and kind of get how to use it and stuff. But when going from eclair to froyo everybody says to odin to stock.. Well which rom is the stock one and is it stock 2.1 I am supposed to odin back to or is it the 2.2 stock? and Is there any other steps I should follow after odin-ing back to "stock" I have downloaded much of what I needed and have been searching for a while And i remember seeing a post a long while ago on the steps i should follow but my search skills aren't the greatest. Thanks in advance for any help!

If you are on Fusion 2.1, just use rom manager and install this using install from SD card option. You should be OK. If that does not help try ODIN.
Incase you are stuck and need to revert back to stock or want to take the long route just incase then use this file
Stock Rom
PIT File for ODIN
Thanks. I just tried it and everything seemed to have flashed over okay. I just didnt know if it was required to odin to stock first or not. Everything is working pretty good so far. gonna mess around with a few new kernels now.
Cant seem to get clockwork mod recovery to work
Any suggestions on how to get back into the clockwork mod recovery so i can install from zips again?

Install Rom Manager from Market, Make sure you have Busy Box & Super user app. Launch rom Manager, Select Clockwork Recovery, Select your device from pop up window. Select Reboot to Clockwork Recovery menu. Phone will restart, select reinstall packages it will restart again and take you into Clockwork menu.
Tried this twice and it keeps taking me back to the stock recovery mode... Dont know why.
*edit*
Had to reinstall packages twice and it finally worked. Everything is gravy. Gonna see if the SuperIO kernel is better than the stock+Voodoo5...
So basically what happened here was things went wrong. And I accidently Unrooted my phone The Samsung Galaxy S Vibrant
Which is running GingerR2 on 2.2 I want to install another rom, but can't
I do have Clockworkmod recovery installed I got this phone second-handed so from what I tried there doesn't seem to be a backup
Is there a way to do this or instructions I can follow?
I have searched the forums and can't find anything really related to this and if there was something I apologize for not noticing.
Have tried Z4root it just closed itself after a certain period and phone didn't restart
Tried one click root
Even the option in the recovering for running the SD card won't root it
Thank you kindly for your answer
Just download the cw recovery update.zip and flash it in normal recovery (reinstall packages) twice on the second reinstall it will put u in cw recovery (green font) use it to flash a new rom because they all come rooted.
Any more questions email me cuz I don't get here too much anymore. I will PM u my email
Use AIO Vibrant tools on development area. Its a good tool, It does all you need on ur vibrant including rooting. That's what I am using.

Hi, Ok, so I am new at this and I have a samsung galaxy vibrant on tmobile...i got it and it was running eclair 2.1, I figured out how to root it and then upgraded to froyo 2.2. Now I am wanting to get either Bionix ROM or Nero V3. I have followed all the steps, got rommanager, did the flash clockworkmod recovery, dowloaded the zip file and put it in the root of my sd, but when i go to reboot, it wont run as clockwork, no matter how many times i try!
I read that it is because 2.2 has recovery e3 and i need e2...so it says t download a kernal that contains clockwork recovery but the problem is i cannot find one. I can find stuff all day long about the galaxy I9000 but nothing on the vibrant!
I have Odin and was wondering can I flash the rom straight to the phone?
My model number is SGH-T959, Kernel is 2.6.32.9, and build is FROYO.UVKB5.
Please help me, I really have no clue what I am doing, I just want my phone to run fast, get a nice looking theme for it, and not have to worry about it messing up and from what i have read the only way to that is to get a custom ROM and the only way to get themes is thru a custom ROM....
So if anyone can tell me how to go about getting my phone to recover using clockwork and any links i need to download the stuff I would greatly appreciate it! Thanks!!!
Just bricked my phone i think!!!
Ok so i just followed all of the directions on this sight on how to do it, i backed up my apps with titanium then put my phone in download mode with odin and tried to flash the kernal for my phone to upgrade it and on odin it just said on the screen part, modem, it was green and nothing else happened so i unplugged it because it wouldnt reboot even after waiting a while (10min) and then the screen just showed a broken link between phone and comp and wouldnt change, so i looked at how to restore it with odin and did that and now it will go to the download screen again but nothing else! PLEASE HELP!!!!
follow this guide it will solve all your problems press the thanks button
I'll try and explain the best way that I can.I was not told about alote of possibilities of corrupting the internel file system on vibrant t959, after I was downloading custom roms from the web ,Mainly gingerbread roms, and boot loaders,I was doing fine wit stock to froyo and froyo to stock, and customizing them was just fine,However, now every time I go back to stock froyo I can not get the 3e recovery to work any more on my unlock samsung vibrant t959,which was working fine before all this madness. Please can I get some help on this.Im upset and confused .I did the back to jfd thing so many times, and used a odin voodoo+froyo kernel. My question is will I get to use 3e recover to be able to root stock froyo on vibrant t959 is there any possibilities of fully fixing wats cousing it not to work any more. Can some please help on this post,Ill trully appreciate your concerns.
Can you not access recovery thru rom manager? Does it go to the stock recovery? I think its blue.
I think you might of misunder stood my question or I may have explained wrong. What im trying to understand is that I use to be able to use" rageagainstcage"3e recover 2e on stock froyo for vibrant t959 when I first got my phone. Now ever since I've been downloading roms and other firmwares."rageagainstcage"3e to 2e recovery does not work anymore. Please I would like help on this,if you can ill appreciate it.I have had corruped the files system but ony to get my phone in working condition but it's just that one problem im haveing.

On the latest stock froyo build Samsung updated to 3e recovery and left no room in the system folder ,which makes it hard to root, because super root, 'rage in a cage ' installs superuser apk in the system app folder and su binary in the system bin folder.... I think Eugene has a modified ODIN version of froyo build 'KB5', with the old 2e recovery and I THINK already rooted check out his website ....
I know Eugene has a modified froyo and so does every one else, and ever since I have used every one else roms my phone is messed up,I believe comming from simply honey is the main reason. No lie , , , not to get off the topic, when I first got my samsung vibrant t959 ,I bought it unlocked and it was running stock jfd,and then I updated to froyo on kies mini. Then I used the" rageagainstcage"3e recovery programe ,thats is on xda developers, I have used this programe over one hundred times without no problems. Why is this program not working anymore on stock froyo.
How to flush the internel files on vibrant t959 and renew it
My post was solved ,I odin stock jfd and upgraded to stock froyo; however I like to first thank those that tryed to help,as for my problem with useing "rageagainstcage"3e to 2e on stock froyo was not working anymore was becouse of winware that did not allow it to work.I uninstalled winware, put the updat.zip on internel sd card (not externel sd) then 2e froyo by useing 3e recovery. Then go into recover by holding the three buttons together, and release the buttons when the vibrant screen shows up.Then wile in recovery reinstall packeges, reboot then froyo is rooted.Any questions please ask and I would be more happier to help.
my friend just got a fascinate that's been flashed to cricket.
i've been searching for hours for him (yes, hourS, plural). he desperately wants it rooted
it's currently running 2.1 update1 EA28
after all the searching i've quickly learned that's insanely out-of-date.
so first things first.... all guides for rooting i've seen are DI09 and DL01 (before what he's got), and then there's some for froyo and GB.
first priority here would be root...
question 1:
Is there a one-click for 2.1.1 EA28? if yes, that link is very elusive and a little help would be wonderful.
question 2, if answer to 1 is no:
would simply flashing a rooted kernel with odin do the trick?
question 3, curious:
can GB be flashed to cricket as well? it's odd that the cricket dealer would give it to him on eclair. (simple yes or no will be fine)
question 4, this one i havent searched for, but is the EA28 modem from froyo? thought i saw a result w/ 'froyo' and DL30 something
honestly, i think flashing clockwork recovery using ODIN, booting into recovery, and then pushing the SU binaries from androidsu.com should work. remember if you reboot and don't reboot into recovery directly, the clockwork recovery will be overwritten.
you can grab the clockwork recovery from cyanogenmode website.
I'm pretty sure (might be wrong) that EA28 was just a small release to fix the emergency dialer from the previous update. Try super one click. With 2.1 you might even be able to get z4 root to work.
