If you can, attach phone to pc and update using seus our pc companion, that will put you on the latest official version and they won't know a thing
Edit
Make sure you click factory reset and update

[Q] Reflashing back to carrier-specific SE 2.1 using SEUS

Hello all
I have been playing around with custom roms and using generic basebands, but lately I need to get back to SE's carrier-specific 2.1 because I believe I have some local carrier settings that I need in order to properly send long sms and mmses. I've used SEUS successfully in the past to repair/reflash.
However after starting up SEUS for the first time in some time, it scans and checks my phone in flash mode and then tells me I have the latest software, but there is no repair button, only an 'exit' that when clicked closes SEUS. I recall vaguely that there used to be an option to repair or reflash? Can anyone help me by giving me some instructions as to how I can reflash using SEUS? Is there some button that I missed? Or is there no such option in the latest version of SEUS?
thanks very mch in advance!
PS I'm not using PC companion as every time I try to repair, after going into flash mode and it says it is 'downloading' the update, it always tells me that 'there is no software available for your phone right now' midway into the process.
Have u used flashtool before? U can use it to get back to 2.1. Its in the development section of the x10 forum. Its on page 1 or 2. Sorry i would post it but i am away from the computer. There is a howto guide by rendeiro2005 inside the flashtool link. Good luck. Will help u wen i get up in the morning lol

...Or, maybe you will find your operators' firmware here and follow the steps in the thread to flash it.
NB! Note that it is 1.6 firm, but after flash u can update to 2.1 in the normal way trough SEUS or PCC.
Yeah I used flashtool in place of seus for flashing eventually, but I need a carrier-specific fw.
Thanks G-face for the link but there isn't a Singapore one. Is there no way to reflash using SEUS now?

what rom are you running on? i had exactly the same problem a couple of days ago with beta4 installed.
you need to get back to any 2.1 stock rom, then the SE update sw will let you repair your phone.
i had an old xrecovery-backup from the latest update to bb .54, i flashed that via xrec and then it was no problem to repair with pc companion...
I think you can search for the last files SEUS downloaded for you and then flash them back with flashtool, e.g. in my case SEUS downloaded 2 big files to C:\Program Files (x86)\Sony Ericsson\Update Service\db\13740270\blob_fs
One of them is ~150Mb and the other ~15Mb.
Then all you have to do is decrypt them with flashtool and create a bundle to be ready to go. I hope that works for you.

I think I encountered this issue when I tried to play around with the SI number. I managed to get back to my original firmware when I changed my SI number to World Generic, then repair the firmware via SEUS then root and then change back the SI number to Singapore one.
Try this and let me know if it works for you.

+1) use the app root explorer, set to R/W, and long press on build.prop file, and open in text editor. Then edit the CDA number from generic back to Singapore. It is repeated twice maybe three times. For example, the x10a global generic is 1234 - 4820, and to change back to X10a Brazil is 1234 - 4836. Save and close changes. Reboot phone.
Find the folder where you saved the Update Service on your pc. Go into the folder and delete the contents of "db" folder. This will wipe any data so Update Service will have to reread your device and download the appropriate firmware for repair software.
Turn off phone. Run SEUS. It Will say that you already have the latest software. REPAIR ANYWAY. DONE!
Below is the link to the thread with all the CDA numbers and detailed instructions.

Um, That's because your not running Sony Ericsson firmware anymore.
To get back to stock 2.1 either "repair software" via SEUS or PC Companion, or restore your xRecovery backup if you made one.
There doesn't seem to be a 'repair software' option for me in SEUS, after checking phone in flash mode the only thing I get is 'exit' :/
Ok, then use flash tool 0.2.9 and flash global generic firmwar. Both found here.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=920746
Then you can root with the flash tool, and then modify build.prop.

Desperate Cry for Help (Rooted and Stuck)

My phone was running on 2.1 which was updated through SEUS. To get 2.2, I rooted my phone. Now my phone is back on 1.6 and is stuck there. I used Flashtool to go back to 2.1 so I can install xrecovery and eventually get to 2.2 but now its not working. I get Flash successful massage but when I check my phone it is still 1.6
I have tried 2-3 different Flash tools, 2-3 different ROMs for 2.1 but hasnt worked. I am stuck at 1.6 and only able to make calls and receive messages because after rooting even the GPRS is not working.
I will greatly appreciate some guru taking up my case.
You could give us some more information because there are parts that I seem to miss...

How did this happen? Which rooting method did you use?
Only 2 work in 2.1 as far as I know: Flashtool and One-Click Root app.
Rooting doesn't change your firmware, it's just modifying some files to allow superuser access.

So, you flashed a 2.1 ROM again but now your phone doesn't work? And it's still on 1.6? Have you tried the Repair option on SEUS or PC Companion?
Ok, this has been happening to a lot of people lately.
Can someone smarter than me find out if SE followed through with their plans to stop rooted phones from using SEUS or PC Companion?
Unknown13x said that this was coming with the 2.3.3 Gingerbread update. He said we will have to be running unmodified stock firmware to be able to run update service.
I'm rooted and on custom ROM and yet PC Companion and SEUS both recognize my phone, I even repaired it with SEUS once to get back to stock.
What strikes me as weird in the OP is how did rooting sent him back to 1.6...
Must have chosen the wrong file to flash from SD to get back to 1.6

I guess that the OP got confused and used the 1.6 root method(The one that Bin4ry,jerpelea and biktor made). There was a step to downgrade to an older 1.6 firmware to make use of FOTA debug menu.

Ah, that would explain it!
Then an update with PC Companion should fix this, right?

Yes, unless SE have updated SEUS and PC companion to detect rooted/tampered phones. But flash tool should work all the time. Don't know why he is getting issues with it.

Have you done it recently on the updated SEUS? I am afraid to try. I have read a few others have come and gone with this problem. No matter what they do, the phone resets to 1.6.

Really???
I did it a week or two ago, when I got in reboot loop trying to install the custom kernel and my recovery was broken. Flashtool didn't recognise my phone either,
so I used SEUS. Took me back to the latest 2.1 (2.1.B.0.1).
Maybe it has to do with regions, some may have not received 2.1 officially, so SEUS rolls the phone back to 1.6. Don't know... Now I'm afraid to use it again too!

[Q] Flashtool and SUS won't flash

Hello,
today I wanted to restore a CWM restore on my neo V (.587), but i forgot that backup IS GINGERBREAD. Now the phone is softbricked. Flashtool is stuck at around 13% (system.sin) and SUS also cannot succesfully flash. I googled for solutions, but haven't found any. Alsom my bootloader is locked (unlockable). I tried flashing two different 587 FTFs, none flashed. Also, should i check or uncheck the final verification? Please help me! :crying:
After restoring the backup,of GB you can just flash a GB kernel ... This soft brick is caused as you had ics kernel on a GB Rom which won't boot!
Try flashing a GB kernel .... Instead of whole Rom ...

Since they can't turn on phone in this condition, meaning first they need to flash it, root will be gone after that.
And you won't do anything stupid like telling them you used some unofficial program for flash, right? .
So there is no way they will know you root it and used flashtool.
And now about your problem. Are you using latest flashtool?
Can you show us log of flashing?
And what is exact problem when you try flashing it with sony update service?

Okay, will try to flash again. The log looks perfectly okay, as usual, but while flashing system.sin, it freezes for a few minutes (at 14%), and says Ending flash session and will stay at this message forever. I'm on Flashtool 0.9.8.0, and i guess i won't try to flash it again. I'm bringing it to a repair center (is that the right word? my english is not the best). And the phone CAN be turned on, but will only show the Sony screen and then the "orange triangle and a phone" screen. Guess they won't find out about the flashtool, I'll just say that I was updathing via SUS (in fact, it WAS the last thing i was doing with my phone ) and they'll hopefully fix it. Thanks for your help, next time I'll update my Flashtool.
If you haven't took your phone to a repair center yet, try this (i had the same problem):
Try reinstalling the drivers flash tool needs to recognize your phone.
If that didn't work, try another PC or another Windows. Sometimes the problem is pc, not the phone.
