What the f? Is that a dead pixel or what? Try inputting *#0*# in keypad and select the first three colors (Red, Green, Blue) you see there, do you find the same there? or is it only in the browser?
It's not a dead pixel, default browser behaves like that. Try with a different browser and the white spot doesn't appear It's for hardware acceleration if i'm not mistaking, definitely not a flaw.
Thank you i did it and no white spot exists

Its to keep the hardware acceleration alive.
If you don't have it, you are running a 2.3.4 custom rom with the hardware acceleration off to fix the browser lag.
Thanks for the replay. I've just chaged browser (dolfin) and there is no white spot
I run android 2,3,3

Hi people!
I was just wondering: If my homescreen is black, would I save more battery than if my homescreen was colorful?
A silly question.

I do not think that applies to LCD screens, as I read that it blocks the pixel to form black.

Yup u definitely will but it wont make a noticable difference
This thing will really help in NOVA displays like one in optimus black
I searched up on saw:

based on those, looks like using black is same as white or even more power hungry than white.
Howeever on LED is opposite of course.

Yup AMOLED does... The screen doesnt uses the screen lid (Thats mean is totally black filling not greyish)... So 50-80% battery is save!

So it doesn't increase our battery life with a black wallpaper then

Whenever I view a plain black picture(In a dark room), I notice some black patches on my screen. Theu are black like the glass paint of the screen. The black ones are scattered across the screen. Is that normal? I can see the black patches when ai'm in a dark room and view a pure black image.
Thanks.
Yeah it's normal for our displays. You can search, and there's a lot of threads discussing this

Thank God. Hehe, where can I see more threads?
What will I search? I dont know how is it called...
Thanks!

Does anyone know?
Hello, I am having a little issue with my wallpapers. Any of them that have a fading effect end up with a weird thing happening to them. The wallpaper I am trying to use is a basic faded blue wallpaper but when I use it as a wallpaper it gets pixelated. It looks fine on the computer and in PhotoShop, but not the phone. This happens with all pictures like that, from my computer, Zedge, where ever.
So, is there any way to fix this pixely looking picture into what it really is? Any option I can change? I am using ThaUnknownArtist's Ice Cream Sandwich Final ROM. I know it is not the launcher, since I have tried it with Go, LP, and ADW.
Sorry I can't post the pictures, I am new on XDA and it won't let me post outside URL's. Thanks to anyone with an answer!
I think it's so because our phones screen outputs only 265K colors instead of 16M like some other phones.

No, it doesn't have to do with the screen. Just tried the same picture on another Optimus V and it looked fine. Maybe it's the ROM? I'll see what I can do. Any tips though?

In CM7 roms there is a option for surface dithering, if its unchecked then this might also cause your symtoms

there still are these GIF-like colors also when surface dithering is enabled.
It is a known issue caused by the poor screen of p500 and the lack of dithering in some roms. A workaround is to download quickpic from market and put a wallpaper through that app. Dithering problems is almost gone in quickpic
Thank you! I put the wallpaper through Quick Pic and it fixed it. Seems like it was a problem with the gallery.

I've noticed that when going fullscreen in dolphin browser (taskbar is hidden) there is a stain of icons and clock along the top where the taskbar usually is.
Anyone else got this issue?

How could he search for burn in if they dont know what it is ^.^
Is it only when going fullscreen in dolphin? or if you put say a pure white image up does it remain? If it is still there on other apps/pictures then it will be burn in and have a look at the tread linked.
If not it could be an issue with your rom and that browser.

Pure white shows it (easiest way is fullscreen in Dolphin Browser).
Looks as if there is no fix
Luckily the S3 is on the way, would have gone for the HTC One X but it lacks a microSD slot.
