USB Host Possible? - HTC EVO 3D

Does anyone have specs of the Evo 3D processor to determine whether or not this might be possible in the future? My friend has stated that Android 2.3.4 has USB host built into the operating system. However, the hardware has to have that capability.
So does our processor have the capability for USB host mode, and was our micro USB wired to allow it? Anyone know for sure either way?
I'm sorry if this was brought up before, I've actually done an extensive (unsuccessful) search on the topic.

I know you can do this with honeycomb. Wouldnt see why we couldnt do it with the evo. Any devs have any idea

No one know for sure if the hardware is capable? To be honest, I consider that the only definite advantage the SGS2 has right now.

Speed up of host USB port

Hi all,
Hate to generate a new thread for this, but I've been looking all over and can't find anyone who has asked this. On the 7501, has anyone tried speeding up the host USB port? It's claim is that it is a USB 1.1 port, but is ti that way because of hardware a limitation or because that is the speed selected? Transferring files to/from memory sticks or ext HD is very slow.
Thanks
Matt
IIRC it is a limitation of the USB Host controller which is 1.1.

After the initial novelty wore off I only used the USB host input on the Athena for HID devices, I think it's practically useless for anything where speed is important. If I tried to view a movie the drive would often disappear halfway through the film, and navigating forward was ridiculously slow. Even photo slideshows had a lot of lag. It's a shame it isn't USB 2.0, not sure why they created this limitation since usb 2.0 is really old in itself now. 1.1 is ANCIENT
Thanks guys,
That is what I suspected, a hardware limitation. It may become a reason to upgrade sometime in the distant future. Like we need a reason.

RAID? Bluetooth 3.0 capabilities?

Forgive me if these questions are elementary or if they don't even make a lot of sense. I'm not claiming to be a hardware genius by any means, in fact I'm quite the opposite.
My first question is whether or not it is possible on an android device to RAID the internal partitions in any formtat? I think this would require two flash sources and my question then is whether or not, if the hardware was theoretically able to support it, the operating system would support a situation attempting to boost read/write speeds utilizing a RAID setup. Maybe there isn't even a benefit to doing this with flash? If there is, what would be some of the benefits, and conversely, drawbacks of this?
The next question I have is what the capabilities of bluetooth 3.0 are. Specifically, can BT 3.0 be used for 1080 video playback? And can BT be used in something like fastboot?
Thanks in advanced to anyone willing to field these.

[Q] WFEMU on Android?

This might be far fetched, but thought I would ask anyway. With an over abundance of higher end-older android phones for cheap on sites like CL, I wonder if it is possible to run WFEMU on those phones? WVEMU is a dongle emulator used for FTA testing. The original WFEMU is made for Linux and Android is Linux based. Most of those phones also have WiFi capabilities, making it a great small wireless dongle if it is possible? I am using usb to serial with my current setup. One would only need to add usb to micro usb converter to hook to the phone (and have usb host capabilities on the phone).
Not sure if there are any FTA junkies on here, so I also posted the question on an FTA site also.
Looking forward to any thoughts and/or comments on this. Please move if this is in the wrong section.

USB Host via MHL?

Hey everyone.
On the German Samsung site i found this adapter for the Galaxy SII:
http://samsung.de/de/Privatkunden/Mobil/Mobiltelefone/Zubehoer/etr205u/ET-R205UBEGSTD/accdetail.aspx
It allows the SII to be a USB Host. Does something like this also exist for the Evo 3d?

Like the above post said...you'll need Rom+Kernel support enabled...as of right now the kernel is only working on some evo3D's but not all. Chad has stated his next sense kernel should have it working on all evo3d's that have Rom support. At this time I think the only Rom confirmed working with Host mode is Olympus. I'm running Chad's Kernel & Olympus but still haven't got it to work. I'm just waiting for Chad to finish up his release, can't wait !!
BTW search Ebay for USB OTG or OTG Cable you'll see plenty
Sorry for my English .. Hello everyone first of all, any driver to control the MHL from the PC?
The truth did not know very well where to place this post, but I think the media is the main function and see if you're lucky, the idea is to propose or if anyone knows, the android can control from your PC, as the case Samsung TVs that recognize the application MHL Device Anynet + (post link). The idea is to connect mobile phone to a computer with a touch screen and control it from the screen contenplando the quality of this type of connection and future applications, CarPC, game systems, internet browsers.
So far the closest I've seen is through a remote program or Android QtADB Commander, but they perform a virtualization and graphics functions are very limited (videos, photos, games, etc. ..).
An interesting idea would be that an application for Android was able to control the touch screen driver THROUGH USB host our phones, this topic is more interesting and juicy indeed already been mentioned in some places but unfortunately I guess we have to wait to get the ICS to Partin, do not you think?.
For those interested in the latter is here.
Greetings.

How to add USB OTG Host capabilities to a kernel?

Right now, I'm using an HTC EVO 4G LTE, running ICS. Now the source code is out, however, no one has yet to add USB host capabilities to their kernel, so I figure I might as well do it myself. I read on kernel development, and I have a surface level understanding, but I'm just interested in adding the USB host capabilities. So how would I go about doing that? Thanks.
IIRC ICS should have OTG that works for keyboard and mouse. Of course the microUSB port on your phone needs to have the hardware to support OTG and also may or may not supply power.
Yeah, the hardware on the EVO supports it, it's just that HTC never enables it in their kernel.
