[Q] Playon Later .plv - Galaxy Tab 10.1 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

I recently received an invite for playon later. It allows you to download tv shows and watch them later. I want to put these videos on my 10.1 but the files are a .plv which I had not heard of. Anyone know how to convert these or get them to play on my Tab?

I'm with you
Just signed up myself for playon Later. Since I went full time with Netflix I cannot get movies though Playon. I hear it has something to do the the app since other resources through playon work fine.
Anyway. the .plv opens in windows media player and I'm attempting to use one of my converter programs to convert the file. So far, the files cannot be open even after changing the extension to .wmv.

I know a professional PLV Converter and PLV Player. It can help convert PLV files to AVI, MP4, WMV, FLV, 3GP, MOV, FLV, VOB, MKV and other video formats. The nice PLV Converter can also convert PLV to MP3, WAV, WMV, FLAC, M4A, OGG, AU, AAC, AC3, AIFF and more audio formats. In addition, it can convert among more than 160 video and audio formats with HD even 4K video quality and fast speed. The PLV conversion software is also a nice video editor for you to merge, trim, crop PLV videos, rotate PLV files, add/remove watermark/subtitles, adjust audio channels, increase video and audio volumes and more.
Find it by google search "How to Convert PLV to AVI, MP4, MP3, 3GP, FLV, WMV for Playing with PLV Converter and FLV Player?".

.plv files are from a platform game Prince of Persia and are regarded as a great leap forward in the quality of animation. Sometimes PLV files can also standard for Digital Foto Maker File.
PLV files are not widely supported by modern devices. You need to convert PLV files to common formats with a professional PLV Converting Tool.
You may use Cicever PLV Converter. It can solve your PLV file trouble easily.

Tcpmp 2010

This is just my personal build that works best for me. Made up of mostly old but a small percentage of new components from BIMBAM & LBE TEAM. Comes with 2 players. One plays FLV, FLV4, RMVB, the other player will not play these but will play MPEG2, VCD, SVCD, DVD & CINEPAK. Both players will play WMV, SVQ1/SVQ3, MP4, AVI, MPEG and many more common audio and video formats. I use one player as my main player cause it handles most formats except MPEG2 & CINEPAK. Both players are skinable.
TIPS:
Some QT files will play if the extention is changed from QT to MOV or AVI
VOB & DAT files will play if extention is changed to MPG. If the codec is MPEG1 they will play in Both players. VOB & DAT files are MPEG1 & MPEG2 videos so all will play.
No build of TCPMP will play FLV files that use the H.263 OR H.264 codecs but other files that use that use the H.263 & H.264 codecs will play.
The LYRIC plugin works very well. All you have to do is put the LRC file in the same folder as the MP3 and make sure the file names match and the lyrics for that song will play automatically when the song starts. The lyrics will not show if the MP3 has album art.

do you mind to send one to [email protected]
I can't access it due to company's firewall
By the way, is your new rmvb plug-in used in this one? Or should I update after install this one?
Thank you very much.

Hello,
Excellent work you have done, now if this program exceeds the capacity Core Player to play FLV videos, among many other formats ... Congratulations.
I am glad also that much development for Windows Mobile did not die in many cases ... thanks again.

There is lots of skins floatin around for u to choose from. I personally do not use skins for TCPMP. I use it for one purpose, to watch videos. I think the simple look of TCPMP stands out against skined players.

Yes this is a known problem with TCPMP. FLV4 VP6 videos of a high resolution do stutter. I have found that FLV4 and WMV9 are the worst videos for TCPMP. They both have the same stutter problem. I believe it is the lack of hardware acceleration and not the codecs. Coreplayer has the same problem with WMV9 but WINDOWS MEDIA PLAYER is hardware accelerated so they play very smooth.
Thanks a lot for this pack, works great for me
btw are there any players that can play FLV files that use the H.263 OR H.264 codec?

thanks for the info
I like TMCP , Thanks
Not able to download the file from 4shared . Any mirror?
Thanks.
thanks for this version. The other TCMP version wouldn't even play MP3s for some reason on my omnia II.
However, I tried to play an internet station .pls file and it says "cannot load URL". But if I use COREPLAYER on the same .pls it plays...
also, when I turn off my screen, the music stops playing.

watching downloaded videos

Just a quick question, I have several movies I have downloaded that are in the format of .flv , is the Archos 101 able to view these out of the box or do I need to download a plug-in or can I convert the .flv files to a different format?
You need the plug in
From the Archos site:
With optional plug-in (downloadable on www.archos.com): • Cinema: MPEG-2 (up to DVD resolution MP/D1, 30 [email protected] Mbps) With the above codecs, the device can play video files with the following extensions: AVI, MP4, MKV MOV, WMV, MPG, PS, TS, VOB, FLV, RM, RMVB, ASF, 3GP

Try to play them first. I was able to watch all my FLVs without buying the plugin.

Do you have firmware 2.3.26? If yes you dont need the CP
And if not, try VitalPlayer Neon, that plays nearly everything.

[Q] camera video recording format?

hi,
can i change the format of saving videos? which format is better in your opinion? 3gp, avi, divx .. ?
thanks
Which format really depends on what you want to record the videos for, i.e. playback on TV, playback on iPod, etc.
Current formats are MPEG4 and H.264 recording I believe. MPEG4, H.263, H.264, DivX, XviD, WMV for playback.
This is what's in the specs, but I haven't checked them all.
Use handbreak to convert it. It is an excellent app for mac and windows.

Playing MP4 with AC3 audio?

Does anyone know if the stock video player can playback AC3 audio in the MP4 container? I got some MKV movies that I extracted into h.264 and AC3 files then placed them in an MP4 container. I didn't want to encode the audio down to 2 channel AAC, but I don't know if the Galaxy Tab can play AC3 in MP4 container. Don't have my Tab with me at the moment to test it.
Sometimes MP4 files with AC3 audio cannot be played well[/URL]. To solve this issue, I know a quite nice way. It can help can convert various video to MP4 video with AAC stereo (2 channels), MP4 video with AAC 5.1(6 channels), MP4 video with AC3 stereo and MP4 video with AC3 5.1. In addition, it can convert various format video to AVI with MP3 or AC3 5.1, MKV with AAC or AC3 5.1 audio, MOV with AAC 5.1 audio, MPEG-2 with AC3 audio as well as convert video and audio to audio only AC3 5.1, AAC 5.1, AIFF 5.1 and WAV 5.1.
The versatile video converter presets ready playback video for many devices like Apple TV, PS3, iPod, iPad, iPhone, Zune and more. So you can enjoy movies with excellent video and audio quality on your devices wherever you like.
To find it, google search "step by step guide on how to convert and play MTS/VOB/MKV and more video to MP4 AC3 5.1".

[Q] What is the video codec used

Hi,
I wanted to play a video recorded by SGS2 in .mp4 format, but it looks like nothing out there can support it. It plays without any problems on the phone, but VLC, WMP and even WinAmp can't recognize the codec used. My question is - what is the video codec and is there anything that can play/convert it?
The *.MP4 file is a wrapper that binds both the video and audio + subtitles file.
Depending on the resolution, it can also be a *.3GP file.
*.MP4 usually uses H.264 video compression and AAC for audio format.
*.3GP stores video streams of H.263 or AVC/H.264 format, and AMR audio format.
In Windows 7, H.264 is supported without requiring to install any codecs.
3GP however is not supported in Windows 7.
If you are using Windows XP, you not only need the H.264 codec, you also need a MP4 splitter. As for 3GP, you need a codec for that as well.
Haali Media Splitter is useful for both MP4 and MKV files as a splitter.
FFDShow is a great all in one codec package for H.264, x.264, H.263.

Video codec: H264 MPEG4 (AVC)
Audio codec: MPEG AAC (mp4a)
I have no problem to play my mp4 files recorded by using my SGS2 with VLC.
Maybe you should check for an update of your VLC media player.
