I have a ton of music uploaded to my Google Music account and have downloaded the new Music app in the market, but it never pops up for me to sync my account. Do I need to replace the stock music app with this one? (right now they both show in the app drawer). If so, what would be the easiest way to accomplish this?
Go to your settings and see if you have your Google account selected for syncing (both on the music application and your account and sync settings). Then at your library, call up the menu and see if you have music from your account selected, and not just downloaded music.

Is anyone successfully using Google Listen (the Google android podcast app) with a Google Apps account on a rooted NC? I've done the "login to YouTube first" thing and all my other Google apps seem to work fine and can connect to my Google Apps account. Listen just says "Listen requires a gmail account to sync... Please add a new account in System Preferences." I cannot find a way to tell it to use my existing Google Apps account.
Note that I am using Listen on my CM6 based Droid with the same account, so I know Listen supports Apps accounts. Maybe the only difference is that CM6 is 2.2?
Got my GT today and I am trying to sync it with my Google Music library. The Music app it ships with has no "Settings" menu and no mention of "Google Music Beta".
So I'm assuming that there is an update available. Thing is, I'm not in the US so I think this is stopping me from finding Google Music in the Market.
On my phone, market enabler - job done. How do I do the same on honeycomb? Or have I missing something.
Thanks
Try this:
Settings->Application->music->clear data
Reopen Google Music.
So long as you have the beta invite you should be good.
Just tried that and it's sill the same. On the top right menu button in Music all I have is "Hide Now playing Bar", "Shuffle All" and "Help" no settings option.
For the record I am running music version 3.0.
Should I not have to authorize Music with my Google account first? This is how I done it on my phone. /confused
What worked for me was the following:
1. Go to Settings | Privacy and uncheck "Automatic restore"
2. Uninstall Music (or uninstall updates if that is the only option given).
3. Reboot.
4. Reinstall Music from the Market.
hmm, check your google account in Accounts & Sync to see if there's a google music option.
Also, and this is a long shot, any chance you already have 8 devices hooked up to google music?
I'm on v3.0.1.339 not sure if that makes a difference though

You don't get the Music sync to appear in Accounts until you associate the Music app with your account. And you can't do that until you have the correct version of Music installed.
Just got an apk for Music 3.0.1.339 and that seems to have done the trick. Shame I can't just update it from the market using market enabler or similar.
So I got my Galaxy S II yesterday and I installed Google Music Beta, I have tried for the past 24 hours with the app to get the settings to show up, but it won't let me access it. I press menu and all I get is Shuffle and Search. I'm unable to access any of the music that I have uploaded. Anyone else stock and having this issue? I have uninstalled, reinstalled, rebooted, deleted but I haven't wiped out the device because I can't see that resolving the issue.
Sorry I'm not sure how to help you but I will say its working just fine for me, I think I might have had a lag initially getting my google account to link to it but I'm not sure

Once Google Music is installed and you've opened it and selected your Google account to link to it, you have to go to Menu > Settings > Accounts & Sync > select your Google account > checkmark Sync Music. Then wait for the sync to fininsh.
i have recently brought a NExus7 and being outside of the US i managed to create a google music acount with proxy's and what not but i was wondering if it was possible to sync my google play music data / account with the Samsung Galaxy SII
my S2 is running stock gingerbread ad i installed the google music APK and it loaded and runs ok but when i add my acount to the phone in the sync options there is not an option to sync google music play user data/ settings
im asking because its my partners phone and i want to add my account to there phine so they can access my music collection but nothing else
does anyone have any idea how to do this
as on my jellybean Nexus 7 when i go to acounts then sync there is a tick box for music; if i just untick everything on the S2 will music still work?
You can download Gmusic apk file and install to your phone (you won't see it in the Play Store outside of US) and the phone will sync the music if you have added the account to the phone via system settings.

thanks and will it only sync the Music if i turn all other syncs off? as i dont want contacts email apps or whata ever else synced to that device
When you launch Play music for a the first time the app asks which account to sync with and it does not interrupt other syncs for that account.. At least it hasnt for me.
I have everything installed, but the app doesn't recognize any new albums added to Google Play. Additionally, I deleted a few songs I had moved to my sd card, but they still show up (minus album art)
Any ideas on what I need to fix or change very appreciated. I have a rather large collections (4500+ songs) and would love to get this app up and running correctly.

I'm assuming you already checked to make sure your music is visible in the web version of Google Play Music... If that's not the case, you need to double-check the settings in the Upload Manager.
If that's all ok, check the settings for your Google account on your tablet -- If you drill down by tapping on your account in /Settings/Accounts, you should be able to see which specific Google service is being synced to your device. Make sure that "Google Play Music" is checked to sync it.
If Google Play Music is checked to sync and you still can't see your music on your device, go to /Settings/Applications and clear Google Play Music's data.
Regarding the songs you deleted that are still showing up, remember that Google Play Music doesn't store its local music files in the same places you may have stored music you manually put on your SD card, so it's possible that while you deleted one copy of the music, Google Play still has another copy cached somewhere in storage...
I got it to sync by going to Settings, then to the Google acct and synced it there - it worked. But is there anywhere I can check to have it do all this automatically?

As long as you have the check box next to "Google Play Music" checked, it should continue to sync automatically. Are you having any problems with anything else not synchronizing?
