[Q] Do you have the new baseband? - Optimus One, P500, V General

Just a little curious whether people here already have the new baseband or not. I still don't have the new one, but I might get it if majority of the votes are "yes".
TIA

No for me.
I'll wait until everything gets stable

Thanks for the responses. Waiting for some more

I just did it today because i wanted to try more roms

Don't think the baseband matters too much. I flashed the official gb a week back but found no real improvement... plus the battery life sucks in gb.
Flashed back 2.2.2 today. Nothing gained nothing lost.

Some people are making more custom roms such as the open optimus! Its gettimg update soon check it out!

Hi there, i'm no expert in this, but i should imagine that if you made a nandroid backup of your stock rom before installing CM7, you should be ok to just restore that.
I have already installed cm7 buddy nd stupidly I didn't make a backup I understand that I can't completely restore it bck as bl will always be unlocked I just need the stock T-Mobile UK 2.2.2 rom

I can't be 100% sure about this, but seeing as you haven't installed an official 2.3.4 GB, you might be ok to flash the official stock 2.2 froyo t-mobile firmware. Head over to the super firmware thread and have a look there. As i've already said, I can't be 100% sure about this, hopefully someone with a lot more experience than me will chip in and give you the assurance you after, sorry i can't help you anymore my friend.

No problem my friend, if our official 2.3.4 GB update isn't here by next week i'm going down the same route as yourself, unlocking my BL and installing either CM7 or Alien. It seems that us in the UK get left behind when it comes to official software updates! !

Sent from my MB860 using xda premium
I think the brick problem is when you flash a gingerbread sbf and try flashing a froyo sbf...but I've done the same as you. Except I backed up my original stock rom.

I think so too but just wanna make sure before I do it lol

Firmware update for the AT&T Note..

Anyone been prompted for this yet and have you installed it? Seen some posts saying it updates the radio and a few other things.
Would it nuke your root or overwrite a custom kernel?
Sent from my SAMSUNG-SGH-I717 using XDA
If you have root, best to check with rom developers and ask them. Most updates also plug exploits that allow root.
There is a firmware update for the i717? Source?
Sent from my SAMSUNG-SGH-I717 using XDA
Just checked for updates on my stock Note, nothing coming up.
Saw this little article on pocketnow.com

Sent from my SAMSUNG-SGH-I717 using XDA
Yeah that's the international.
Sent from my SAMSUNG-SGH-I717 using XDA
Yep, that was for the international version like I have, brings it up to 2.3.6, xxLC1
Even smoother. The slight lag when you scrolled programs is completely gone.
When ICS hits, I think I'll wait a couple builds. GB has been out long enough to be tweaked, even if stock. Might be a while til ICS matures.

[Q] installing rc3 tab rom

So I've been running rc1 since it was release but I'm thinking about trying the rc3 update. I just finished downloading the rc3 updated rom but what a the best way to flash, wipe data etc and what about the addons? I tried finding some flashing specifics but there are just too many pages to filter thru on the Dec page.

There have been some issues with RC3 ygst DaGr8 is working on. He solved the major inescapable and is currently working to get the ROM stable.
I would wait for RC4.
Don't forget to hit Thanks!

since there are a lot of changes from release to release, the best way to flash is obviously a full wipe, then flash...
I have been running rc3 for a few days with ZERO issues, so feel free to flash it now

I was planing on staying away from the rc3 but I thought it was pulled and reworked than released...I guess I was wrong, thought the current rc3 was the fully stable ready to go version. I'm content with rc1, ill wait for rc4.

RC3 has issues like exchange service and dpi issues. Contacts FC'ing. Samsung Calendar as well. These FC's occur after applying the tablet ui. (except exchange which happens from the get go.)
I want tablet mode so that's why I am waiting.
Sent from my Samsung i717R using XDA Premium. Hit Thanks if I've helped.
i don't use exchange, so I deleted the app, so no fc's for me; also, don't use tablet mode; need larger fonts, so thats not an issue for me either
no issues with calendar or anything else for me

if you have to ask/beg for a thanks, you don't deserve one..
besides, who gives a damn about how many thanks they have???
if you are helpful, you will get them, NOT by asking/begging for them...

AT&T ICS Update July 10th

I know, I know, another ICS update thread, but hear me out. AT&T is allegedly rolling out the update tomorrow (July 10th). Since this is being reported by The Verge, and they have had hands-on time with the update, I trust that the July 10th date is accurate. Here's the link to the source:
http://www.theverge.com/2012/7/9/3146884/att-samsung-galaxy-note-android-40-update-video-photos
P.S. Please don't bash me if the update doesn't come tomorrow, I'm just the messenger!
Its on android central too.
Some people said it's already out on kies, I'm not home or I would check
it's true!!!!

I don't know if anybody cares about this, but the baseband version is apparently I717UCLF6.
Hmmm... maybe more tweaks? The last leak was pretty nice but there is definitely room for improvement

about time:victory:
Yes. Kies says I have an update. UCLF6
Hopefully we'll see source to come shortly and a CWM flashable version!
damn..does this mean i have to go back to stock ..get the update..re-root re-rom..just so i can say i "officially" got the update:laugh::laugh::laugh:
Finally credible info
But who cares
Only good thing about this for me is that the clock to release source starts
Possible undervolting could help people like me with poor battery life
Speed divas can enjoy overclocking
Yes, update is out.
PS: it's not ics, its JB
PPS: People I was just playing about JB.

Somehow I doubt its 4.1. All the articles are showing its 1 build newer than LF5, so its 4.0.4, not 4.1.
I don't know if religious comments are aloud but, "Praise The LORD"!!! Thank you OP for the heads up... i think something is downloading right now on KIES... fortunately, my work does not check for bandwidth usage... well, at least I don't think they do...:victory::crying:

Thinking of rooting - Sprint

What's a rom that has good battery life and speed? Also need stability but understand there will be bugs on most roms. I hate the laggy ness on stock.
What recovery is recommended for installing roms? This is the Sprint version. Oh and I need a rom with 4G working, I don't have Wi-Fi at home and 3G on Sprint is a joke.
Sent from my MB855 using xda app-developers app
My understanding is (and Im stupid) 4G is lost when you unlock but if you dont have it anyway, why care? 3G is a joke and i rarely use it!
As for recovery, look for me "I F'ed UP" thread. you loose everything, but you get your phone back!
I am in a area where I DO get 4G wimax. Is there a decent rom that has 4G working?

Assuming you are still on 2.3.4 and not 2.3.5 you can use mofs rom. Its generally a stock rom but you'll get 1080p camera, some bug fixes, notification bar toggles and much less lag. You'll just need to root, install bootstrap recovery, and flash it.

Ever since updating to 2.3.5 I've noticed battery life that's better than ever. And the lag can be rid off of simply by choosing a different launcher from Blur. Like Go or ADW. IMO.
Sent from my MB855 using xda app-developers app
I am actually on 2.3.5 and I put go launcher on last night. So far it's cool, better than stock blur. I was hoping there'd be a decent rom out but I understand having locked boot loaders really sucks. Thanks for all the helpful replies!! I really appreciate it!!
