Cool widget layout feature - HTC EVO 3D

Did not notice this before but was wanting to move my clock widget and i was on a screen that was maxed out on widgets and apps. To my surprise when i moved the clock widget to the bottom of the screen the other apps automatically moved to the top like in SPB Mobile Shell 5. Just thought i would share if you didn't know you could do that.

Does anyone use folder organizer

its a brilliant app, however there is one feature i still cannot figure out/dont know if its possible. I like the feature that allows you to place shortcuts in the notification menu. pretty basic. but everytime i do, the ugly ass default icon shows up in the bar, even if i apply a default/custom icon to the app.
does anyone know how to change the notification bar icon for those shortcuts?
What launcher are you using? I'm using launcher pro and have two folder organizer links on my dock, one for my android tools and another for internet stuff. The launcher lets you customize the icons for anything in the dock by long pressing on the icon/app. Give it a try.

Try barcontrol, you're limited to their icons but there a few decent ones.

im actually running bar control, i have been for quite a while, i just really want to be able to set my own icons. i mean folder organizer allows you to associate custom icons to apps, but for some reason it doesnt resize the icons to fit the notification bar

[Q] App drawer folders?

Is there a way to put app icons from the app drawer to a folder to the app drawer itself? I tried using several homescreen replacements but i really like how the SE default feels, feels premium! Thanks in advance

I hardly understood what you said and concluded that you want to set icons for folder like the icons in app drawer are
for that you can use any of these two softwares one is free other is paid app
You can change icons of software by using first and by using second link you can change icon of folders ...
To change icon of software get -
Desktop VisualizeR
To change icon of folder get -
Folder Organizer Paid
Folder Organizer Free
Else get this light weight launcher and its really very fast responcive and low memory consumter...
360 launcher
I hope it will help you....
Go launcher, or touchwiz 4.5 works on all roms. And has app drawer folders

[Solved] App drawer in CM7-beta1 disappeared

Well, my app drawer disappeared on my CM7-beta1'd X2. Clicking the spot where the app drawer was pops up a friendly message to drag and drop an app to that spot. Any suggestions for getting it back?
While we're on the subject, is the app drawer slow and choppy for everyone else too? I should say that by "slow and choppy", I mean "not as buttery smooth as everything else"
Long click on homescreen, create a shortcut for tue app drawer, drag it to the spot on the dock.....should work for ya....

Hold your finger on your screen window will pop up. Push launcher actions then hit open close app drawer. Then drag the icon were you want it.
If you go to settings then adw launcher you can set app drawer speedsand preference.

The app drawer.. is.. a widget?
Well, at least it's back. Thanks!
You could also drag your finger from the bottom of the screen to just above the dock and the button will come back. Then drag back down to go back to the dock. I just did what everyone else did and put the widget button in the center, but if you want to use that spot for something else, the app drawer button is still available.

App drawer button is a shortcut. Cm7 comes with adw free and a common issue with users new to adw is that they will accidentally move shortcuts off the dock or even delete it. Above instructions will work to get your open/close app drawer shortcut back, but after you have things where you like I would recommend locking your homescreen. Also done in adw settings.

Freaked me out the first time too. There are other actions you can play with too other than just open the drawer.

Temperature on lockscreen?

Been searching all over in the settings to be able to change the temperature from Celsius to Fahrenheit. Anybody know where to do this for the lockscreen?

Maybe tapping on the widget with the weather on the home screen and going into the settings in that app

You might want to take a second look. It's not a global setting, but controlled by the app. So open the app that the widget is linked to and look in the settings menu for that app.
In particular, if you are using the default accuweather app, that is indeed where the setting resides. You may also want to recreate the widget to speed up the change i.e. don't expect that the change will always be reflected instantaneously.
.
OK thanks, I figured it's tied to a certain weather app. Will keep looking. Here is a pic of my lockscreen,
Sent from my SM-G900T using XDA Premium 4 mobile app
That appears to be the Accuweather app. From memory.. tap or double tap on the time or temperature on the home screen to open the full page Accuweather.. then click on the menu icon there (3 dots) to get into the app's settings dialog. Then look for the C/F or metric /Imperial toggle.
.
Hmm, Not sure where that app is, I thought I had it frozen in TB. I've only got one weather app installed right now.

That one then. Whatever it is.
.
I froze it and restarted the phone. It did get rid of it so I know that's it, however when unfrozen there is no actual app anywhere to configure.
*Edit it doesn't come back now after unfreeze and rebooting. Oh well no big deal. The weather app I do have and use is Weather & Clock Widget.

Stand alone widgets are less common.. and will be configured from the widget itself instead of a main app then.

The reason his app settings are not showing when he taps the the temp..
Is probably because he has the
Unified Daemon frozen in TB too.
I learned it the hard way from freezing it..

Here is what my lock and home screen looks like..
Here is a link to my 2 apks if you want to try them..put them in system/app ...just rename yours to .bak and you can switch back if doesn't work but should as that's all I changed..then restart phone and replace the original weather widget and make it 100 percent transparent.
Tap on the Temp on the home screen takes you to the settings.

Cool thanks I will try them. I don't remember ever seeing the second app "weatherdaemon2014" Maybe that's it.
*edit, those worked! I didn't have accuweather in system/app, though the weatherdaemon was. Its all working now, thanks a lot for your help!
Weather App - change from C to F

I am new and this may just be an old thread that has been resolved.
I went through the entire thread and didn't see a suitable reply.
On my newly acquired Galaxy 5S, I wanted to do the same; change from C to F.
First went through the Settings App and didn't see anything that would make the change.
Sometimes things are very simple. And this was something I probably over-thought.
What I did:
Unlocked the screen, and there's the "Weather App" loaded right on the main screen at the very top of the screen.
I tapped the "Weather App" box, which brought the "Weather App" full screen.
I then tapped the three vertical dots, flush right top on the screen. This brought up four options (black text on white background).
They are from top to bottom, 'Weather map', 'More', 'Settings' and 'Report wrong city name'.
Tap on "Settings":
Then, under "General", the first settings option is "Unit".
Tap "Unit", then tap the radio button "°F" to change from Celsius to Fahrenheit.
Unless you want to continue making additional changes, such as 'Refresh', 'Location' or 'Notifications...' you are done.
There is no "Save" button. The changes that have been made I believe take effect immediately.
All you have to do is back out and get back to the main screen by pressing the Home button to get back to business.
Hope that helps someone, someplace.
Best,
Robert
Hallelujah, I have figured it out. Press on the widget on the lock screen. Select change widget. Choose Accuweather (yes, it does not appear in your apps management list) A whole page opens up with the Accuweather forecast AND in the top right corner (at least on mine) (Note 4) you get the three dots indicating a menu. Press the dots and holy cow the settings for accuweather come up. And there you will see the temperature change option. Right at the top. Hope this helps.

Nova launcher, 130 size icons, material icons
Sent from my VS990 using XDA-Developers mobile app
Home and lock. Google Now Launcher. Wallpaper from Backdrops
Total Launcher. One is the app drawer, the other is the home screen with pics of the boss lady.. Zooper widget for the time, and the wife pics are done in app from total launcher. Can be made to launch apps and stuff but I have those 4 just layered there doing nothing. Its a great app and not too heavy. I really like the flexibility. I used to have it to where it would just scroll vertically like some of the old windows mobile phone. So basically a realllly long home screen with everything just a swipe away up or down. But for now I have it simple.
Older pic but it's still the same.
Updated my Nova "single" home screen. Figured instead of swiping to multiple pages I'll just organize my apps in Android N folders. Two finger slide up to get to app drawer. Zooper widget clock.

I had to look up how to do screenshot on this phone. Not real evident:laugh:
quick update on my home screen. Nothing to special on my folders and icons but I did make this wallpaper. Copied the google logo on their home page a few weeks ago and dropped it on a black background using a wallpaper creator app. I attached it if anyone wants to use it. If you use it show us how your homepage looks. Thanks
