I think HTC dint know how great 3D was going to be.... It was going to be a Gimnick but now is more than that, 3VO community is now downloading movies, downloading photos, sharing photos 3D.
NOW the only Thing i hate about the EVO 3D is that my 8gb card(LOL)It is becoming smaller everyday and this community It's not downloading ROMs yet haha, but its time to go bigger, 16 or 32? What do you guys think it will be perfect for you and for your phone to run great?

How about the Classes and the Brand, what do guys recommend for a 16 or a 32gb?
Becuase this phone is running an 8gb Class 4
Sent from my PG86100 using XDA Premium App
Right now, I don't need more than 8gb. On my Epic I had some gameloft games, which I sure as hell don't want to pay for again. I had an 8gb (using the 16gb elsewhere) with 1gb free for backups and roms, without music or movies.
For my use, 16gb would likely be enough. Could hold a couple movies and just move to/from as needed.
only thing i hate is the power button. i can barely feel it and seems worn out already.
i downloaded a lockscreen app so i don't have to use the button as much.
hopefully new case im getting helps big tme
I have a 16 gig right now. Thought that would be enough honestly. But I have 4 3d movies on mine and I'm getting low. Might be time to upgrade to the 32gb. Especially when these roms come in and I start doing nandroids
Sent from my PG86100 using XDA Premium App
It would need to be a class 4 or above because I have a 32gb class 2 card and it can't process 3d content its transfer speeds aren't fast enough so now I have a almost worthless 32 LOL

That had the worst power button ever, lol. I'm not complaining cause atleast they fixed that.
And yeah, 8gb is unacceptable. HTC should have atleast gave like 16gb.

Doesn't necessarily have to be a Class 4 or better. The only benefit of having a Class 4 card is that it is gauranteed to run at 4mbps. This doesn't mean that a 16/32 GB card cannot run at those speeds, just that it isn't guaranteed to run it all the time. My 16gb Class 2 runs at Class 6 speeds. I would just go with a good name brand SD card and grab 32gb. I wouldn't worry to much about the class. It's really a marketing gimmick to me, cause you will not notice the difference in everyday use.
I got a 32. Still have 19gb left. Didn't want to get a 16 then later regret not getting a 32

yeah the evo wasn't that bad but wasn't noticable imo. I noticed the 3d instantly and new i need a app just for that issue.
On the other hand idk why everyone complaining about the 8 gigs. but it is understandable on the 3d, but the 3d on here doesn't even look 3d to me its looks more holographic then anything else so i won't be buying any movies. MAYBE a game or 2 but i want as much space as possible for when the 3d gets unlocked. can't wait for some roms man im dying here lol

No LTE, no sd card slot, LG, not a very good upgrade in my opinion. Seems like manufacturers are moving backwards. I understand their reasoning for no lte, it more of a world phone that way, but definitely a backwards step in terms of missing features.

Depending on your area, T-Mobiles "4G" (HSPA+) is just as fast in the real world as LTE, especially from Sprint. Not a killer imo.
$300 superphone phone off contract? That is not moving backwards.
Personally Im not going anywhere due to this ol' contract of mine. But if they keep this up, switching to T-Mobile and $30 a month bill with a $300 superphone sounds really freaking great to me. Will have to see what it looks like next year though.
Im totally with you on the SD card though, that is a bummer.

I understand you having an opinion, but being how this is the internet, and I disagree with it, I feel obligated to try and change your opinion to my way of thinking, even though I know it to be a fruitless endeavor.

The Nexus 4 runs a quad core S4 (with Adreno 320, not our stopgap 225), 2 gigs ram, 720p RGP Stripe screen , bluetooth 4.0, USB host, and all the sensors you could want, plus built in inductive charging.
How is that not a superphone? It outspecs/ties anything on the market, certainly anything based on the S4 Plus like our EVOs, and I still consider my phone to be a superphone. If storage is such a concern, bring a thumbdrive with you for your offline media, it doesnt change the fact that the guts of the phone are the best you can find on the market shy of the Nexus 10.

Lack of an SD card isn't a deal breaker for me. I rarely store music or movies on my phone anyway.
After moving through multiple Samsung Phones and now an Evo, I'm just tired of waiting months for an OS update. I will probably switch to buying Nexus devices exclusively when my contract is up.
The fact that the unlocked Nexus is not much more than I usually pay for a subsidized phone may be the reason I switch off of Sprint.

64? You wont consider a nexus without 64gb... what do you need all that space for? Im wondering because i only use a couple gigs. I have a lot of pictures and some music that take up 90% of the couple gigs i use, i mostly stream my music and all my movies. pictures/videos dont take up much space unless you take pictures and video of everything, and you can always link a box/dropbox account to auto upload the stuff and then delete it from your sd/device. I know games take up some space but idk how much. I work too much and have a family so i dont play anything.

I think this will be my last one. I have had the original evo, evo 3D, and now the lte and have nothing but hardware issues. Mainly with digitizers. But the main reason is the slow updates of operating systems. My next phone will be a Samsung.
I defnately will for one simple reason. If you look at the quality is of my HTC evo 4g and at a phone just coming out ala nexus 4....the evo benchmarks better out the box and that's with sense. My performance is still on par with phones being released 5 months after I bought it. That's pretty good.

As to the question about why someone would need so much storage, for me, nandroid backups are the biggest user of space.
Nexus' are great, and I'm really tiring of HTC bs bootloader shenanigans, but love the look and build quality. I don't like sense, though (though much better than TW) so I use AOKP/CM/PA, etc.

My wife isn't big on phones, as long as she can talk, text, and use the internet she's fine, she has her upgrade now so I'll be getting it and giving her my evo and if I don't like it I'll just switch back and give her the "one", and she has my og evo so I'll send that to htc for $100

I usually preorder my phones so I can have it on release day but this time I will wait to see if multitasking is back. If HTC disables this core function of Android again I will be going with another manufacture. Its ridiculous that if I am looking at a web page then check a text message then go back to the browser the page has to reload. I find this very infuriating, especially with all the power this phone is packing. Sense 5 doesn't look promising with the live tiles. Judging from the last couple of sense versions this release will be throw together also and won't be able to handle this new feature without studdering and serious lag.

It's ok... The best thing is the speakers... All phones speakers should face you... It just makes sense. But other that I don't see anything special about compared to the new up coming phones. So are the windows essentially just widgets u could add to the screen?
I'm really drawn to the hd screen, extra ram, and extra storage. I also really love HTC's camera software.
The one drawback is the apparent lack of mSD expansion. As a systems engineer, I carry enough gear with me, so I often use my phone at job sites, carrying suites of software tools, ISOs, etc. That's in addition to the usual books, music, etc. So not having more than 64gb of storage that doesn't rely on the cloud will be a PitA (all too often, I'm in reception blackholes).
I know it'll come in 32 and 64gb flavors, but I really hate paying the premium for higher storage capacity consumption devices/phones.
If the Evo flavor ever does come to fruition, I have to hope that it comes with a microSD slot. Further, if it is released, I'll hold off getting one. I'm pretty happy with the 4g LTE and the price will drop in like 3 months anyway.
I'm in the same boat as you, I like having expandable storage. I can't always rely on cloud services. It's actually quite a debate. Some people like to flame others for wanting an sd card slot. I don't get it. Since I use my phone for work, mp3 player, and camera, the more storage I can get the better. I don't always have data and life is too busy too constantly swap what I have in my storage.
I tend to agree with many of the points raised here. Lack of external storage is rough, as is losing the kickstand. Also, while the new camera has better low light, i think 4MP is too low to allow for cropping. I'd have preferred a camera as good as Lumia 920.

The stuff that I store in it are FLAC albums, 1080p video clips, HD anime series, torrent downloads, installers, movies, etc...
And that amount of storage isn't enough.

Omy I'm in the wrong business ! cheers to you all! I doubt I will ever fill my device SD card I could do that. But I've been through more than 20 android phones since the G1 came out. I just don't see a large 64GB internal storage as a necessity when I like to buy off contract every yr.

I'm looking for a 64gb card right now for my EvoLTE, I got less than 5gb left on my 32gb card...and I already try to keep it as light as I can...8gbs of music, 11gbs of pics, and vids, and 5gbs of movies..it definitely goes quicker these days. But I feel ya, I never thought I'd fill my 16gb card...and when I got my 32gb card I thought finally I'm good...Now I'm looking for a 64gb card ..go figure.
Who needs that much space? I definitely do. I could fit my whole database of music on 64gb and still not need to worry too much about filling up my SD Card. Plus throwing movies on there, flashables, taking many videos and pictures... 64gb doesn't sound like enough. Lol.
Not to mention Nandroids. My backups usually go over 2gb each, if not more.

At least they're putting 64gb in them... I have 18gb of music, and debating about putting a few movies on there for some longer flights I have coming up... I have a 64gb card in mine, and it is down to about 10 gb left I think.
Real Racing 3 is over 1gb, that's just 1 game.
I've been looking at new phones and I'm not liking the direction HTC is going... first non-removable battery, I said ok, I guess I'll have to live without adding a big huge brick to this phone like I did with my previous ones. Now the Droid DNA doesn't even have a memory slot and only 16gb of storage. I know they try to push everyone to the cloud, but some of us like to have stuff on the phone when we don't want to use bandwidth and we don't have wifi nearby... Next phone might have to be a *gasp* samsung... :crying:
Sure is frustrating that they are only giving us Sprint users 32GB...

I would wager that 32gb is more than enough for 99% of consumers.

I'd like to get the One but I have to have the 64gb version. What stores are selling the 64gb such as Best Buy, RadioShack, or Walmart? I'd also love if it were maybe a little cheaper than the current $299 AT&T price

I believe you can only get it online per the att sales rep I spoke with.

That's correct. The 64GB is an online exclusive only..
After I week long debate I decided to get the 32gb. It probably will force me to use more cloud based services. I loaded my music I still had 16 gigs left. Instant win.

Google music is AWESOME!
They let you upload something like 22,000 songs for free..
Yes it is. I use that and dropbox and it makes the 32gigs more than enough.

When I purchased my Chromebook Pixel is came with 1TB of Google Drive space for 3-years.. :good:
I don't think I will ever come close to filling that up..
That's awesome. I have 50 gigs from the s3 dropbox deal and the 20k song limit from Google music plus this phone is truly amazing. Go get ur 32 gig op so you don't have to wait for the 64. Hopefully we have helped.

I'm definitely going to need the 64gb. I have around 40 gbs of music that I want kept locally on the device. I've used Google Music and think it's great, but I don't have the data to use it like I would like to. The 64gb is a must and I'm a bit weary about purchasing it online due to the defects some are reporting. Does anyone know if these defects are as abundant in the AT&T version of the phone as they are in the international? I looked at one at the AT&T store and it seemed to be perfect.

I don't think there are any abundant defects in any version. I have a 64GB from ATT and it's perfect, except for the soft buttons not lighting up most of the time but I think they all do that to some degree.
Don't forget the OTG as well. It works great right out of the box. I just moved about 20GB of movie files off the phone onto a flashdrive and it was so quick I was shocked. I wish I'd paid attention to how long it was, seemed like just a few minutes.

I'm fine with the soft keys not lighting up. In fact, I'd rather them be off all the time and I'll make them that way if possible. I just don't see how or why it's necessary and, in the dark, it's excessively annoying.
I have an OTG cable for my Nexus devices and my favorite use of it has to be playing GTA III with a PlayStation controller. I like to show iPhone users that
