Is a cricket kyocera domino 3g qualcomm cdma phone compatible to use as a donor phone for the HTC EVO 3D?
- Also, I am having trouble changing my ESN for the evo 3D. I'm guessing because im not rooted. will temp root solve this or do I need to wait untill the phone is unlocked to S-OFF before I can change the ESN?
So is this an AOSP or Sense based?
Does this Rom have the PNG's optimized at all?

Its not a custom rom. hes asking if the phone he has is ok to use as the donor phone to switch the ESN of the evo3d to and use it on cricket.

I think what the op is saying is that he ported the kyocera Rom to the Evo 3d so it will work on Cricket.

You might be new here so I'll give you a little tip. Usually if the thread pertains to a custom rom, it has this in the title " [ROM] ". Good luck and happy surfing.

Why would I do that?. because this guy is asking a "Question" in the "Development" forum.
So, with that in mind... I have a couple "Q's" I would like "A's" for.

Please do not discuss changing of ESN's here, it is illegal, also I am pretty sure you do not need to change the ESN to put the phone on Cricket as they don't whitelist or blacklist their ESN's like Sprint and verizon do, so any phone can be put on you Cricket account, also check this here and you should be golden. Good luck and watch where you post next time mate.

All you have to do is flash it to cricket and have it activated at a cricKet store I have a guide for it but its a paid solution that I can't post here. But everthing works well on cricket service.

It's not that devs were chased off, it's that someone (who was doing their job) didn'tlike the sensation people hanging out in our forums, so everyone, including teamwin, went to the sensation forum since it was more "cross-phone friendly".
Devs will come back to the 3d forum once s-off is established and the time to cook up Roms and mods comes around. No one is going to be posting 3d roms in another forum

It is hard to develop for a machine with s-on. Once we have it rooted and this bad boy is flashable...I believe the gates will open. Also...the sensation has been out a month before 3d and by looking at the threads..some have s-off. The developers did not go anywhere...they just cannot develop.
A mod was trying to keep the first root thread free from a lot of non dev related stuff but also wanted to keep the sensation owners out as well. So he locked the whole thread hindering the communication between teamwin and this particular section of the forums. Teamwin then picked up their ball and went to go hang out on the sensation forums where we can ask questions and talk about our phone without the fear of being banned.
Lets not turn this into another thread like the "update" thread. Just know that they went to the sensation threads and will more than likely be back soon. I don't want to see this get blown up again.

I have never been banned from xda until this forum was created. Then I got a 1 day ban for saying thanks to the guys for all there hard work. The mod posted a "warning" post in the thread which I didn't see because I linked in to the thread on a later post. I'm like really xda!? A true warning should have been PM'd, I can understand a mod wanting to keep prescription drug sales or porn off the site, but for just saying thanks! I mean get real.

Crap happens.. Mod was doing his job and you got caught in it. Whose fault was it that you didn't read the mod's post? It was yours.. It was only a day and the world didn't end.
As a group we can't have it both ways.. It's either let everyone do what they want and deal with the mess, or regulate it. If we could leave it up to everyone regulate themselves, it wouldn't of been an issue in the first place.
Edit: I just want to make it known.. I'm not really trying to single you out with that. I'm just making it a point that you gotta be responsible for yourself.
i am having issues with the dang services.jar. tried everything i did on 2.3.3 on 2.3.4 anyone have luck with this? if so can you point me in the right direction.

would love to see this happen on 2.3.3 as, along with the annoying 4g icon that will stay on even if you're using wifi at the time (and for the tards that like to flame i know how to turn off my 4g radio DUH)
the 3D is a little narrower than the 4G so real estate is crucial at the stop to see all the icons without having to pull down the notification bar

im using viper rom, GPS is off, and the icon is STILL there on the top screenwith a slash through it to indicate its off mr flash any 2.3.3 rom

Obviously I know this isn't a Rom, and obviously its not just roms since there is mods , kernels etc. I figured this is where devs look and its for a Rom. If people were as quick to help as they are to flame xda wouldnt have the issues it has..

Lets say i buy a HTC EVO V 4G with a bad esn. Can i do activate it the exact same way i would with a HTC EVO 3D? Would that possible hypothetically?? Thanks. I wanna do this cuz my HTC EVO 3D was stolen today Bad esn phones are cheaper

While they can move this for you, I just looked up what a bad esn phone is and I wouldn't suggest getting one. If I am understanding this correctly, a phone with a bad esn means its either been stolen/lost, the bill was never paid on that phone, or there is still an account active on it. All seems weird to me but seems like bad news as well. Cheaper or not, I would stay away from those. If I am misunderstanding something, please let me know.
If you really want an EVO 3D, I would suggest looking through ebay or amazon for a good deal.
Also, don't forget to report your stolen phone. As useless as it seems, it will help you in the long run.

"Bad ESN" phones are for parts only. It is illegal to change the ESN to use phones that have been "blacklisted" for any reason, and therefore prohibited from discussion on XDA.
