This works. I tested it.
Though I did not flash the zip. I extracted the bootanimation.zip out and manually copied it over in Root Explorer.
I'm sure the evo one would work too.
Do I have to delete the old one

Dont delete it. Just rename to___________. Zip. Bak so if ya ever have to go back you just delete the ". Bak"

Here's a bootscreen I ported from one of the droids, forget which.
Looks good on the Atrix.
I'll have a new red theme out sometime in the next few days too.
Enjoy.

No you must rename bootanimation.zip and place in system/media and delete the old one

Sorry for bumping an old thread, but I really like this boot animation and want it on my 4.5.91.
Will it work with the OTA gingerbread? What are the installation instructions? Thanks!
p.s. also the download links are dead! could someone re-upload if this works with 4.5.91?
Link error.
Thanks for reuploading looks great!

Sorry, ill reupload with the desc file to use the sound
Instructions:
Unrar both files
Replace the desc.txt file in the original bootanimation.zip with the one included in the rar
put the Powerup.ogg file in /system/media via root explorer
I think that made it worse lol. I got nothing now..blank screen to phone comes on

Take the original bootanimation.zip (not the one you have now, get a clean one), and use winrar and set the storage type to "storing" or "stored" (I forget which it is) when you copy over the desc.txt...

What are the steps to push apk tho root explorer? I have a wiget picker apk.if I put it in my system / apps what happens to the old wiget picker? Or do I replace the old one with the new apk?

So take the old one move it to another folder and paste the new one in system / apps then that's it?
Sent from my SGH-T959 using XDA Premium App
By push it u mean just move it rite? Or copy and paste?
Sent from my SGH-T959 using XDA Premium App
Don't get wrapped up on terminology. Push just means to place or paste in the system/app folder. Just a fancier way to say it.
Thanks still new to all this

This is makin its way into all new releases, and thats awesome cuz its such a great feature. Its really a behind the scenes sorta thing. Root explorer is your friend and push/pullin files is really simple just be careful if pullin out of /system, as noted make backups of any originals just in case. And always remember to have a nandroid of ur current firmware.

Actually I think joker removed stock launcher from his roms
Edit download homebase rom and extract the launcher

I checked the system folder in the stock rom and yays update folder. Neither had a launcher apk. It might be renamed somethin else by moto but i have no clue which file it is.

Current cm7.. But no settings will stick (minfrees, startup program etc) su is granted., and I've changed boot animation through tomorrow toolbox pro.. So it kinda works.. Any1 else., I emailed jrummy but got a form response.. Probably the bootloader saga eh?
The headlines is supposed to say Rom toolbox pro.. Damn swift x

Check your settings... there is one that delegates right based on priority... settings/cyanogenmod settings/app settings.. look at permission management...
Sent from my MB870 using XDA App
Its pretty well accepted that rom toolbox has limited functionality on our phone. Do not attempt to use the clockworkmod stuff, themes will sometimes work but risky. Some of the options like SD read-ahead seem to work depending on your rom
All in all the font and boot animation changers are the only consistently working features I've seen.

Took both advice.. But still no go.. Rom toolbox worked with eclipse though.. Txs

Is it possible to make a flammable zip to incorporate settings options from one Rom to another?
Sent from my SAMSUNG-SGH-I717 using xda premium
Flashable
Autocorrect strikes again
Sent from my SAMSUNG-SGH-I717 using xda premium
No. That would cause nothing but issues that you would not like.
There use to be a build prop script file that tweaks certain background processes. But can't remember the name.
Sent from my SAMSUNG-SGH-I717 using xda app-developers app
Thanks for the response
I am running windows could any one point me to a program or programs that would help me accomplish adding in the extra settings id like to add not replace if that helps
Sent from my SAMSUNG-SGH-I717 using xda premium
The problem with this goal (I wish you could do it) is the files that settings are stored in vary from rom to rom. So copying a file for example named phone_settings.xml that contains all your preferences and making a flashable package of all those xml files, then flashing that set of files in another rom where the file might be called phone_preferences.xml, the flash would fail. So unless every rom uses the exact same names this cannot be done.
What I was meaning with the second question is there a way to do it other than a flashable zip
Id like to have it like jelly bam is with the settings from other roms combined in one
Sent from my SAMSUNG-SGH-I717 using xda premium
As I explained, unless every file with your preferences would have to have the same files in the new rom. They usually don't. Its a good idea, it just can't happen.
Ok I thought you were talking about a zip not doing a complete build
Sent from my SAMSUNG-SGH-I717 using xda premium
Thanks I guess I'm just stuck hoping the dev will see fit to add those features in the future
Still would like to learn more and start doing a little cooking of my own
