Okay the Rom I am on is wolf's and I'm on BB 52 going to arch's rom with bb67, I did the patch before installing rom and it works but the kernel wont
Sent from my X10i using XDA App
probably, (most probably) that happens only with custom kernels. am i right?
if so you´ve downloaded the wrong files (boot.img, etc) be sure you install the right ones due to your rom/baseband/android version
Yep I tried the rom without the kernel, then once I flashed it, then it wont work. So what are trying files needed?

Extract the update.zip from the .rar file, flash it via xrecovery.
Flash THIS BASEBAND PATCHvia xRecovery.
Flash custom kernel of your choice and make sure it is compatible with gingerbread ROMs.
Done!
Just on the whole baseband thing ik i read that bb52 is the oldest and bb67 being the newest, what does it do to the phone itself? Does it make it run smoother or faster or both? Realize its a noob question hense why its coming from a noob learning all this

As fair as I'm aware, unfortunately a computer is necessary when upgrading. This is because the required baseband and kernel differ for each firmware, and can not be upgraded from the device.
