Well as per my view i don't think that 2.3 version will work on our mini's ..........Becoz(I HATE TO SAY THAT) its H/W requirements are far more larger than mini.

Nonsense! we just need to be able to put custom kernels, but we can't! (bootloader is in the way) so no froyo, no gingerbread, no ports till we eliminate that SE's moral breaker... 2.3 may go a bit slower, but if an htc magic can actually use froyo, we can use 4 or 5s if they ever appear (note the exaggeration, please)

yeahhh lets wish that it works more gud than current 2.1
stock 2.3 would run fine on the x10 mini (less apps like flash of course). SE just can't see any benefit in providing the update. As for the Kernel, developers on the big x10 have already proven that 2.2/2.3 will operate on 2.6.29.

2.2 can work. 2.3 only as a demo.
don't see why not..

but what is the use of 2.2, 2.3 when newer kernels work better,,, and we can't put new one w/o loader...

Sure, they work better but also newer system base can work better.
(even a 2.1 pure vanila android would work better than SE version. Remember: Less crapware = more speed)
In mini pro forum, Mikevhl is porting free X10 rom from zdzihu to mini pro and is willing to port it to mini too.

so to make thing clear
CM5 means CyanogenMod 2.1
CM7 means CyanogenMod 2.3
now guess what CM6 will mean damn i think i think :O
can i say it?
FROYO FROYO FROYO FROYO FROYO FROYO FROYO FROYO
ye but its not the real froyom its just a mod or not.
coz SE wont spend the real one for our phones.
I think it hard to understand then...
CyanogenMod have the same android 2.2 base as se would use for froyo
Example CM5 got same base as SE 2.1.1
Only the skin I different
So yes we got froyo and yes it is real
I don't understand why you named se firmware realy and roms unreal...
Kinda weird
But this is reallu an real froyo rom and now ontopic ladiieesss:

People associate android version with kernel version.
think that it is the same thing.
okay, i thought a rom is rom and an android os is an android os.
but im still loving the CM6 3.1 aka Froyo aka the real Froyo ;>
I still have 2.1 on my x10i and i am wondering will it be better to get froyo beta 4 or gingerbread?? What do u think?
I'll vote for 2.3.2
But as i see froyo has more things working then ginger, but is there any difference in speed?

makes your phone look like an iphone for some stupid reason... I think it has to be the ugliest rom I've ever seen, then again I hate the rows of icons and boring iphone appearance...
My vote goes to freex10 hands down... Hardly anything in the gingerbread rom works yet.
Yea i just saw it on youtube, and i didn't like it, but i also found CM6 and they said everything is working, so has any1 try it and how does it look
go for FroYo, Gingerbread is still in its early beta stage and you may not be happy with all the FC's and other unknown problems.
Gingerbread looks more promising, I would recommend you to wait for some time and check out further releases. I would vote for wolfbreaks froyo 6 .1.v4. Very stable and super fast.

I prefer to use ROMs based on baseband 54, that's why I don't use J's gingerbread...
I'm looking at http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=911364 and cannot work out if I've downloaded the correct file from the 2nd post or what to do with the rar once I've unpacked it?
I've already had a play with z's free x10 b3 & b4 & wolfbreaks CM6.1.3 v05, and I'm up to speed on flashing baseband via flashtool, so I'm not totally new to his, but I downloaded from the third link in the 2nd post and extracted but cannot find a zip file to use with xrecovery.
Is this ROM installed differently? Am I doing something wrong?
Any help woud be greatly appreciated!
look for: Update.zip
When you extract the .rar file there shoiuld be a file called update.zip. This is the file you can use from within xRecovery.
But why should you use v10. v11 is out and some of us experience less WLOD's.
v11 works for me, also with update.zip.
Good luck!
Thanks for the info, I'll give it a go at some point this week.

I'm on the newest version 2.2.1 from Cyanogen right now.
Whats the different with this one?
I mean not the differents between 2.2 and 2.3 but: what is working already in 2.3?
There are camera issues. The camera app isn't working which means that you will not be able to take images.
You will experience random system reboots.
Basically for me 2.2 froyo rom us more stable than cm7

Thanks for the info.
I will wait till the 2.3.3 version is more stable.
Having done a bit more reading I think I'll stick with CM6 based ROM's for now, let CM7 become a little bit more stable!
Hopefully it'll be before SE release the 2.3 update
Knowing our devs it definitely will be : )
Yeah, I'm fairly new to these boards but I've been pleasantly surprised by the speed of new releases and updates for the ROM's that I've been using.
I'm still in the procss of trying to decide which ROM is best for me, so I'm having to go through constant reinstalls of all my apps and so on which is a nuisance but worth it for the improved speed & functionality!
psx you should use "my backup root" for all your apps so you dont constantly reinstall them.

Cyanogenmod 7
Hi, is there a link to a guide to install Cyanogen on my x10. I have gingerbread 2.3 at the moment and my phone is rooted. Need basic info.
Thanks
Use it when the rom you want to flash is using different baseband as yours
If your baseband is 54, 55 or 58 and the rom is for 49/52, use this:
xRecovery 0.3
http://www.multiupload.com/K3BS2YJQPF
xRecovery 1.0
http://www.mediafire.com/?cesvpoexkzb9d12
If your baseband is 49/52 and the rom is for 54+, use this:
xRecovery 0.3
http://www.multiupload.com/U020F08R3N
xRecovery 1.0
http://www.mediafire.com/?73hm6c6jnw7mld2
This patch does not modify Build.prop so it can be used for all 2.2 roms. Flash with xRecovery after installing the rom
Notes:
1. The patch may not be supported by the dev of the rom. Do it at your own risk.
2. If it doesn't work for you, change your baseband and flash back the original (one of them should be same as the original )
3. Do not use it on J's gingerbread - you'll have bootloop !!
4. This patch won't solve other problems that come with the rom
Do I use a 54 patch when the rom is designed for a 54 and I'm on a 49, or do I use a 54 patch when the rom is designed for something else and I'm on 54?
And does the problem in z's patch where I cannot register on a network manually?
thks.
this is one one the most important patches released
doesn`t work with Trips MIUI the 49/52

yes i myself am using bb 58 with trips new release just waiting for these stupid mods to sort them selves out and stop deleting his threads for no reason o sorry the reason was profanity > Profanity are words, expressions, gestures, or other social behaviors that are socially constructed or interpreted as insulting, rude, vulgar, desecrating
quite the opposite going on the thread everyone praising trip for his roms ect dont know whats going on ?
Trip had root explorer in the ROM, so they shut it down. But check it, the thread should have the download links back.
