As we know, we've got a teardown of the E3D, and we have various forms of information that we're working off of for perm root. One thing that I've been unable to locate is the FCC schematic that was pulled a few days after posting. One reference to it is here: http://www.wirelessgoodness.com/2011/06/02/htc-evo-3d-hits-the-fcc-with-full-schematics-in-tow/
If anyone grabbed this, and still has a copy, or can dig one up somehow, that would be much appreciated. A good layout of the board would be incredibly helpful in breaking down the way the various pieces interact.
NOTE: there's a reference to the FCC documentation in the link. The Schematic is no longer on that list, as it's been yanked by the FCC shortly after it was posted.

That's one of the pages. Appreciate it, but I was looking for the full document.
I did reach out to t2 from wirelessgoodness.com (the site mentioned above) and he just sent it to me. Here it is for those that run across this thread in their own search. Credit goes to wirelessgoodness.com, t2 came through and had it saved, visit the blog to thank him (link above).

If you rooted your phone and they don't know then there are solutions in the forums to get it back to lets say "warranty mode" and then just send it back too Sony.
Try going back to Stock thought PC Companion/Factory reset
To do a factory reset start with your phone go to menu/settings/privacy/factory data reset then reboot all should be back to stock. Then on your Pc go to Sony Ericsson program/Update Service and follow the instructions and do a software repair. Be sure that your Sony software (PC Companion and Update Service) is up to date. Thanks for your efforts and thanks for starting this thread. Your comments confused me. First, you have to know that the search function only works if you know the exact phrase or thread you are looking for. Second, who would know to look in the disassembly thread for this specific problem? Not the average member.
My advice to you, since you opened this thread, is to support the members who found this solution through your thread. Obviously the disassembly thread is going to confuse or go outside the skill set of most of us. It's kinda your responsibly for starting this topic and being the OP.

Your right so as you can see all keep updating and we will see if it helps. Some of the forums are quite old. But I've saved my links to the forums in my XDA notes on my PC from way before I became a member.
thanks for your help i try tonite to make a video or take picks of me changing the micro usb port...
best regards
If and when you do that please post them in this thread and when i can i'll Incorporate it in this thread Thanks.
I don't think most people are going to be able to replace it without some specific soldering/de-soldering tools...I got quoted $85 at a cell repair shop for parts and labour (I asked about just replacing the USB port, but last time I was on these forums, I think some people were saying it was something else causing the problem, so there's no guarantee that's gonna fix it). If you don't have access to the tools already, it's probably going to be cheaper to just take it to a repair shop.
The tools are cheap just remember to get a good soldering iron for electronics (low wattage) and some good solder.
I will be updating my tread with some how to's

I watched that video too. I have an X10 with the same problem and have been wanting to do a reflow. Let us know how it turns out, with temps and times please.
Thanks
Tried using a heat gun because it seemed like a bad idea to put inside a normal oven,and it didn't fix anything
I got a new phone though, so if anyone can give suggestions on what to try to fix it, I'll try it. I don't really care if I break the phone since I'm not using it anymore. I figure I should help you guys out however I can cuz everyone on this board helped me so much with my X10.

Does anyone have registered dev account with NVIDIA? Looks like they have made "Tegra 2 Technical Reference Manual" available
developer.nvidia.com/tegra-2-technical-reference-manual. Would be very useful to get a hold of it
I applied for a registered tegra developer about two weeks ago. Today I received the approval and was able to access the Tegra Reference Manual from the site.
All in all the process was pretty much painless. I applied with my university's mail address as student and wrote in the notes that I'd be using it for educational and learning purposes.
There were at least two different licenses to accept during this whole process (which I didn't read completely of course) but I doubt it that I'm allowed to share the manual. And I'm sorry to say but since this is serious business, I'm sticking to the rules and won't share it unless granted by NVidia!
But if you want access yourself just apply for a registered development access yourself, I didn't have any issues with this.

Have they released the source for their drivers? That's been killing devs trying to develop across versions (EG: 2.2 > 2.3).
For me on the partners web only the Tegra Reference document is visible. But maybe I'm restricted to only this download as I explicitely requested it during my application.
I'm not exactly sure what you're looking for but the kernel sources seem to be available at
http://nv-tegra.nvidia.com/gitweb/?p=linux-2.6.git;a=summary
Maybe they already contain the needed informations? At least the repository seems actively under development.
Thank you all for the information.
Can this hopefully be a progress in addressing the general lagginess of android interface in these 2nd generation of Galaxy tabs?
Today I received the approval and was able to access the Tegra Reference Manual from the site.

Does it describe the boot process ? Boot layers/sequences/mappings ?
I've received the manual.
Seems it's quite useful, even for driver writer.
But it's too low-level for boot-seq, etc.
you need it - you spend more effort

Site went down around xmas & a couple dats later the cc site went up (based in Slovakia). Goodintentions, an XDA member was the owner/creator. He is still on XDA but mainly hangs out in the Transformer forums these days. He stopped updating the site in July. Don't know if he just forgot to renew the web registration or just decided to pull the plug. If your interested you can PM him.

Hello All Xda's. For quite some time already I have many questions about how to replace LCD screen for the Xperia Z Ultra..
Had an accident and the screen broke.
Have found many videos and tutorials how to do this, but there are no 1 correct way! So i would like to ask XDA users which steps to take better?
Tutorials i think are normal:
* Tutorial to link
Youtube video feature doesn't work here..
And the most important question would be: Where would be the best prices for Europeans? I live in Riga, Latvia. (That's near Germany, Russia, Sweden).
And where you bought, if you had made this replacement
And one more thing: What would be the appropriate tools for this job and where to get them better?
Best prices:
* https://www.gounlock.com/details.php?itemId=10165
* http://shop.brando.com/Sony-Xperia-Z-Ultra-Replacement-LCD-Display_p10029c0308d059.html
* http://siansmobiles.co.uk/sony-xper...er-touch-original-genuine-complete-black.html
* Ebay
P.s. If you have bad comments, please sit this one out. THANK YOU!
Sorry to make your decision more complex, the Z Ultra used lcd panels from two different sources. Opinions differ on which one is better, if you like the one you have you may want to replace with same. It was discussed here, along with links to other posts regarding same.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/xperia-z-ultra/help/worth-buying-z-ultra-t2849129/page2
Thanks for mentioning this, but can't find about it anywhere. The precise models, price differences e.t.c.
I checked that thread and the guy that told there is 2 different LCD displays, didn't mention any facts.
And couldn't find information about the second display. I don't really how to know what exactly is my screen parameters or model without disassembling!
Is there a way to know it when my screen is broken?
My screen was pretty normal on brightness and contrast. Had no problem with that. In fact it was very bright at times (Day time).
adfurgeson did you do this replacement? How can this youtube link be corrected. Want to put video of tutorial here, but simple link doesn't satisfy me..

Hi! I aslo live in Riga.
You can try tvc-mall, it's a Chinese site, the prices are pretty good and they have option, so you can cheat our customs
Im Hoping that this is the right place to post this if not please let me know and I will gladly move.
I will just start with some background info on how the idea formed. I bought a new laptop and after spending $1000, I wanted a case to protect it. I spent 3 days searching laptop cases and each time I found a case I thought I liked, I wanted to read the reviews from people who have already purchased and used it.
Well, one site that sold that case had no reviews, 2nd site (same case) had one review, 3rd site had 4-5 reviews. Then there are company's who review the cases as well, but Im not sure if I should trust those because they might or probably are being paid to say good things about it.
After 3 days of going site to site to read reviews on multiple different cases, I was frustrated. But I realized that the process is the same no matter what item Im looking for.
So my idea is to create an app, when opened, a person can type in the name of the item that they are looking for then post a review of it, or read through the reviews that other people may have posted, if no reviews have been posted the person can either post one themselves if they have the item during which they could post pictures of the item to accompany their review, or they can post a request for reviews of the item they are searching, which people can see at the bottom of the initial page below the search which requests scroll through. and above the search would be a scroll of recently reviewed items.
So its basically an app for consumers to post and/or read reviews of items they have or are interested in purchasing.
This idea now being spelled out, the only other thing I have is a name for it, and thats it. So... how would I go about to creating such a monstrosity. I have no knowledge on coding, so please use layman words.
Im willing to do the work and learn but I don't even know where to start, do I need software, hardware? I have not the faintest idea.. Please any help would be appreciated. Thank you

You need to learn Android Studio and Java Programming Language.
Android Studio is a software for developing android apps.
As to learning Java, I recommend that you use SoloLearn android app.
It contains tutorials for learning programming languages.
