Hi all,
I have a rooted samsung fascinate running stock 2.2.1, and i am having some trouble with rom manager / the clockwork mod recovery. Everytime i try to back up my current rom or flash a new rom i get an error that says
E: failed to verify whole-file signature
E: signature verifaction failed
Instillation Aborted.
Not sure what to do as I read another post on this fourm about it but all the links were dead. If someone could give me a some what noobish answer that would be great, thanks.

The fascinate does not play nice with ROM Manager. There are appropriate recoveries to flash with Odin in the development section.

I would also advise you to read up on voodoo conversions, as this will impact whether or not you go with a voodoo kernel, and voodoo supported cwm.
As already stated, the fascinate doesn't support rom manager, just boot to cwm recovery and manually create a backup

Ok well i rooted my mesmerize with superoneclick/superuser, i been on the right path of doin so, but when i put it in recovery mode it, says E:failed to verify whole-file signature
E:signature verification failed
installation aborted , i have also changed the name to update, but that didt work eaither, i have rom manager, Oh yea i been tryin the super clean rom, and i want the voodoo kernal, any one can help? please explain the steps, thanks
Hello everybody, First post in your amazing forum.
Recently I updated my vibrant to Froyo with Mini Kies. All went OK.
I rooted my SGS with OneClickRoot.
Now, I want to back up everything and can't get to ClockWork.
Re-installed ROM MANAGER.
RE-flashed clockworkmod.
When i choose backup current rom, my SGS restart into recovery.
I choose "re-install packages" and then get:
"Failed to verify whole-file signature
signature verification failed
installation aborted" over and over again.
Can anyone please instruct me what can I do?

Let me first start off by explaining my problem:
So I was rooted to begin with and was running superclean 2.92vooodoo with a oc kernel. For some reason my phone wouldnt start so I ended up resetting it to the original 2.1 eclair (Kill me!).
Ok, so I have superuser access, but can't get the right clockwork recovery in there to flash over a new rom. It says I am on rom manager 3.0 whatever, I try to install 2.5 or whatever the one that I had working and it says "Could not download, try later" The other problem is that my recovery is still blue (when I boot into recovery, instead of red.) When I try to install update.zip or anything that would help it. I get the response
"E: Failed to verify whole-file signature. E: Signature verification failed installation aborted."
Any help is greatly appreciated.

Do not use Rom Manager for anything in here. You will need to flash CWM 2. through Odin.
Yup CWM ALL will do the trick through ODIN

Thank you so much guys, I was up till 4am trying to figure this out, i had that file downloaded and thought i was trying to flash it through odin but i think since rom manager was installed it was messing things up,

Hi guys,
When i use ROM manager to do a backup (for example) it doesn't work.
It reboots, but then i get:
E: failed to verify whole file signature
E: signature verification failed
Installation aborted
And the backup fails. I can still do it after that of course, but i was wondering why it was doing that (i'm assuming it's trying to install CWM recovery or something)
When i tried CM i didn't have that problem and everything was going smoothly. Is it a bug with cognition or with the user?

Not to be rude but this has been asked numerous times every day. If you look at faqs post it says to not use ROM manager because you will experience what you're currently experiencing. So flash stock start over this time no ROM manager.

I'm sorry, but I'm confused. I got that error message(thread title) when trying to flash new ROMs onto a newly rooted/stock I777. This is in recovery without ROM Manager. It also says "can't access to /system/csc/att/system" upon booting into recovery.
Sounds like you need to install a custom kernel. If you're on stock recovery you'll get this message, it won't let you install anything.
