Did you get into the Recocery? (Volume UP-Button)
If yes, select "Update Firmware" and copy the lastest *.aos file from archos.com to your archos via usb
Hi,
I tried to put one through the recovery, the result is the same it does not take the update: it recognizes it but hangs when reboot. It's the same I spend or not the usb.

Then try:
Recovery Menu>>Repair Device>>Format Disk
After the compeltly wipe of your archos you have to copy an *.aos file like in the fw upgrade
Good evening,
I tried using "format device" and just like with the command "format device", the Archos hangs during reboot.
Thanks for your help,
Neferet

It reboots before it install?
Actually you should update the SDE via recocery menu (update firmware) and then it should install ...

Honestly, it sounds like you have bootloader corruption or hardware damage. The only option to-date is to send it back for RMA. It's possible there's partition damage, but you'd need a working OS to check it.
Hello,
Thanks for your advice, I will try to get it fixed through warranty.
I hope I get it back in working order.

Hi. Yesterday i had a problem installing a recovery from Cyanogenmod rom and i got the message of fast booting. I found a tutorial saying how to repair it and i followed it without any problem.
But now, when i boot the phone, y reach the "Android" bootanimation and it stays like that forever. What can be happening now? I had Cyanogen from Mik and flashed a stock froyo (now trying a stock gb, maybe that´s the problem)
Can i save the phone?
Greetings.
After flashing the stock GB, the phone remains the same, staying in the Android bootlogo for ever
Any idea?
You have to wipe data.
Via normal Android recovery? Because when i access to it it shutdowns :S
Yes, but after factory reset, phone should reboot.. For you it only shuts down?
Let´s see, i followed the tutorial and flashed a stock gingerbread (before a stock froyo).
Then, when i access the recovery , a little image with a box, a droid and a bar appears, but then it only reboots. There, when Android bootanimation shows, the phone stays like that for ever and i need to quit the battery.
Edit: I accesed the recovery, but i can´t push any option, only go up and down.
strange.. the bar need to load till end and then the phone reboots.
maybe you have to wait for longer at bootanimation? because the first boot takes longer.
if not, try to flash ROM again, with kdz.
Edit: the menu button doesn't work?
I flashed like 3 different roms and waited in one of them 7 hours to boot. When it access the recovery it appears a warning button and this:
Finding update package
Opening Update Package
Veryfing update package
E: Failed to read footer from /cache/ (is a directory)
E:signature verification failed
Installation Aborted

No, in that recovery i can only go up and down, any other button works. If i push home, the recovery dissapear, but then if i push it again it appears again. That menu offers the option to wipe data but i can´t do it.
Are you able to wipe everything?
data, cache, dalvik cache and battery stats.
No, that menu doesn´t work. I only can wipe cache and factory reset.
It appears the rom is well-flashed, but when it reaches the android logo it goes in a loop.
then wipe data and cache.
It resurrected! :O
I flashed a stock Movistar rom from America and it booted normally! Thank god
But i don´t understand why booted now and not later. Also, i couldn´t do anything it the recovery. Anyway, i can root it again because it´s a froyo.
Thank you.
Greetings!
yeah, it's strange that it didn't boot earlier with other ROMs.
anyway, congratz
GL
Yeah, it´s weird. I´m returning it back to Cyanogenmod 7+francokernel like it was before the brick. I know what made it: install ClockWorkMod Recovery, so i´ll stay with the old recovery i had.
Greetings!

well dude
if you would have just toggled the signature verification off
you would have no problem installing the ROM

Well I dont know how we turn off signature verification. I faced an idential issue using v10E firmware from this link. KDZ update was not able to find the phone in emergency mode. Second time I tried, it did flash the f/w fine.
I got the triangle with an exclamation mark and a droid below. Recovery menu (pressing HOME button) was useless as I could not select any option with any of the hard keys.
This is how I solved it - rebooted once to recovery mode(volumen DOWN + Home), and face a progress bar for a few seconds - rebooted automatically to the LG sign. This time phone booted fine!
Hello,
my phone Alcatel OT 910 drives me crazy last times. When i try to enter the recovery mode pressing volume up+home+power on buttons only an android logo exclamation mark appears and nothing else happens. When i try to install an .apk file from phone it wont and i get a error: "process com.android.packageinstaller has stopped ..." and it's the same for every application. And even if i go to settings and then applications and when i click on some application to clear cache or to shut it down i also get a message com.android.settings has stopped....
Hwat should i do?
Thanks
Hello,
I have a big problem with the I9300 from my mother-of-law.
Her Galaxy is neither modified, nor rooted or anything. So it's stilll stock.
Now her I9300 won't boot correctly anymore.
When she starts it, it lasts much longer than normal to boot. When unlocking, an error message pops up immediately "Application Installer stopped" (angehalten), when clicking ok, it comes another time then it reboots completely.
When going into "Android system recovery" and wiping data/factory reset, there still comes an error message when I reboot (error) and the same procedure appears.
> It lasts a long time to boot > after unlocking the error message appears (Application installer stopped and it reboots immediately).
Does anyone have an idea what the issue might be and what I could do?
Flash a new Rom?
(P.S. sometimes it doesn't start at all an just shuts down and the battery is empty - even though it was still 77%).
Edit:
Sorry, I made a data / f factory reset another time and now it finally seems to work, unfortunately with all datas erased..
You should flash newest firmware for your country via Odin and it should work correctly
hi! i have a rooted alcatel 1040a (android 2.3.6) in which I deleted many apps and installed Clockworkmod recovery and i wanted to install a new Rom, so i did it but accidentally deleted the backup. So now i'm not able to get through the configuration menu (because it always restart at some point, for example when asked about my mail it says: the process had stopped and take me back to the language selection screen), so i'm not able to access settings and i can't connect it to my pc. When i try to update from a zip file (stock ROM/CWMD Rom or whichever Rom) it says: signature verification failed.
Also, if i enter recovery menu (cwmd menu doesn't appear, just android menu) i wipe data and cache but if i try to install a ROM i can't. i read that i may be because the SD became corrupt.
Having my pc unable to recognize it and unable to reach the phone main menu, what can i do???
thanks
