[Q] Clear a single notification - HTC EVO 3D

Is there a way to clear a single notification in Sense? I want to remove just a specific notification without having to open the app, read the text, etc. I know you could swipe a single notification to the side in CM7.

That just opens whatever the notification is (app, text, etc). I'm looking just to dismiss it without opening it.

So I'm guessing by the lack of responses that it isn't possible in Sense.

I really wish this feature was available with the Evo 3D like it is with the GB Droid X, X2, Droid 2, Droid 3, Photon, and other GB Blur devices.

i tried handcent, and so far its the closest thing ive found but it doesnt actually show the popup over the lockscreen, it kinda half unlocks the phone and makes the pulldown bar accesible while locked (which i dont like). i want it so it just shows over the lockscreen like on the iphone or on the htc sense phones

[Q]Thunderbolt drop down multi task

I'm posting this here because no one in the x2 forum knows anything on this but my friend has a thunderbolt and on his notification bar it has all the apps he's using and a music section to change your songs. Its a rather cool addition to the phone and I was wonder how I could get this on the x2

Anyone have any clue about this?

Not sure about the apps list, but Widgetsoid lets you put music controls in your notification bar.
If you long press on notifications I should bring them up

As far as the music controls in the drop down menu, it believe that is part of the HTC Music app.
As for the recent apps in the dropdown menu, that would take some serious code editing. It is a part of HTC Sense, which is deeply integrated in the Android OS on HTC devices. The best thing you could do is to try to find a x2 dev that is really good with editing java/smali/xml and see if they can figure something out.
I don't think there is a way to port it over, so it would probably have to be built from the ground up.
All the good x2 devs seem to be trying to un lock the bootloader lol

IOS Notification?

Does anyone know his I can get ios like notifications on my evo 3d?
Sent from my HTC EVO 3D X515m using XDA App
yep. its easy. trade your evo in and buy an iphone jk. had to do it tho but also I don't even know what theirs looks like so sorry buddy.
Um? Push notifications? Gotta find apps that support them. Android does but I'm surprised at how few apps take advantage. Something that just looks like ios notifications? Uh... Wish I knew what they looked like to help.

go to market and get the iphone notifier app...
what kind of notifications are you talking about?
ios 5 style notifications that appear on the top of your screen instead of the status bar.

Have you tried miui closest to rom.to looking like iphone os
lol i've actually wanted the same thing a few times.
let's see if i can explain a bit better.
you know that time when you're playing a game or watching a video or doing something full screen and you get a text? you feel the phone vibrate, but you cant read it or see who it's from or anythign. ios has a neat little toast-like notification that pops down from the top for a second before dissapearing again to tell you the info.
the easiest way to do this for android without making a whole new notification system would be to add toast notifications to messages and stuff.
yes that is exactly what I need. Can anyone find something like that?
Tasker would probably be able to do it, though it may be a bit of a pain to set up, especially if you're not familiar with how Tasker works. There may be a tutorial somewhere for doing something like that.
what is tasker?
I know one which does that, but it's wp7 style... It's called wp7 notifications.

Guys! I have 2 apps that do this. 1 was specifically for this, the other I didn't know had it. Text notify (that's the app name) does exactly this but it's near the bottom of the screen. Maybe 1/4 from the bottom. Then I got true caller Id, which might be questionable because it prompts you saying by using this app your contact list gets added to their database... But True caller id puts the notifications at the top like you described. Both apps free.

[Q] Is there a single notification delete for drop down menu?

I'm looking for hopefully an app to single delete notifications from the drop down menu.
I'm running Verizon HTC incredible, cyanogenmod 7.2 RC1.
Since cyanogenmod 7.1, we have been able to swipe notifications left and right to delete them, but it doesnt really work very well.
I then went to a friends house who had an at @ t Motorola Atrix, with I think droid 2.3.4 on it.
My friends drop down menu had a minus button on the right of the notification to delete it.
That is exactly what I'm looking for.
Is there an hopefully an app or some way to set this in my (Rooted) phone?
The swiping action works perfectly for me. It doesn't work on persistent notifications like downloads, obviously, but it works with normal notifications just fine.
Sent from my Desire HD using xda premium
Yeah what happens for me on that, I can't just casually swipe it left or right, to get it to work, I have to start from the complete opposite site of the notification and drag it as far as i physically can and it will work if I'm lucky 50 percent of the time..lol it's just a monster pain in the butt, especially when compare to a simple delete button

[Q] Email preview in notification pull down?

Does anyone know if the One has the option to see a preview of an email message in the notification pull down menu? I just bought this phone today and have not been able to find this setting? I thought it was a standard Jelly Bean option, but I could be mistaken.
Any thoughts?
Thanks,

I think you could just the 4.2.2 gmail apk and should work
Do you mean like this? I just sent myself a message. and that's how it looks in my notification bar. I do know that if it's a single line like WiFi TetherMod is, you drag it down using 2 fingers. So You'd drag WiFi Tether Mod down using 2 fingers and it would expand. (If the notification is capable)
EDIT: BTW, I'm using the stock Gmail app that comes out the market.

Are you on the stock rom? I don't get this sort of notification, and I don't see an option for this in the Gmail app.

Does it look like this normally? If so, try dragging it with 2 fingers. I'm on Renovate. I don't think a ROM can add this feature. This feature is a JellyBean feature. I've had this feature on my Epic 4G Touch (GS2), as well.
The notification itself, if you drag it down with 2 fingers, it should expand. And you'd have more options and viewability. Like in my previous post.
I've also upload 2 more screenshots showing you a before and after of Google Music. It's a single bar, but if you drag it with 2 fingers it expands.
EDIT: Also it is not an option your turn on and off. By dragging, I mean the actual notification itself.

As you say, it might be in the next version. Getting this stuff early is a big reason folks root and use a custom Rom. I usually do, but just haven't felt the need with the One. It is meeting my needs right out of the box.

Any link for that? I'm not sure it would work over a stock rom, non rooted, but it is worth a try...
I'm interested. Do you have expandable notifications? I mean can you expand other notifications? I've always thought this was just a JellyBean feature and not something that could be taken out and added, or something of the sort.
I discovered that I won't get notifications unless auto sync is turned on. However, even with that on, I can't preview the notification.
I turned it back off because it also lights off the LED, which uses battery, and there is no way to turn that off separately.
I'd really rather save the battery than have constant notification of gmail messages.
The reason its not working for most of you is the battery saver notification. It is listed as a high priority/ongoing notification and essentially kills the auto expand. Expandable notifications have been in Android since 4.1 not 4.2

I'm still bone stock, no root, no mods, and I can expand my notifications (if they're expandable.) I have the notification for Power Saver, and this works whether it's toggled on or off.
You have to press and drag with TWO FINGERS to expand them. Not just one.

Sorry, you didn't say anything about "top notification" for "auto expand," what you said (or how it read) was that having the power saver notification in the notifications area was what was stopping folks from being able to expand notifications (with a two-finger swipe wasn't said, but seemed to be implied.) And I didn't think we were talking about "auto expand," but about being able to make them expand if they could...
I just did it on my stock ROM using the two finger method on the notification. I still have my Power saver notification showing also. I wish it would allow me to delete instead of archive.
