I booted my phone up with the volume down and and choose BP Tools, this is what popped up in device manager;

Does this mean the x2 has a LTE modem????
As far as we know... nope. Could just be part of the default driver package.
On a side note, when using RSD Lite and loading up the SBF it does show platform as 4G Tegra...
Possible That The System Is Close To The Moto Atrix Which Is 4G And Also The XOOM Which Is Expecting 4G "Soon" And I Use That Term Loosely. I Would Be Blown Away If Moto Releases An Update The Turns On A 4G Radio.
No 4g in the X2 guys. Anything you find that looks like it pertains to 4g is just recycled software. A successful business model is forced to reuse stuff. Example: the little rubber grommet used to attach the arms to the wiper motor in a 1973 dodge are exactly the same as a 93 dodge. Well motorola does the same thing with software. 1 general version that's tweaked for specific phones. If it had the radio, not only would it have been WIDELY advertised, but by the laws of physics the phone would have to be thicker. In other words it wouldn't fit and there is no money to be made by hiding a 4g radio.

I believe it is recycled settings or something cuz I was digging around in RE and opened up init.rc and there is a line near the bottom that states the following::
# For LTE (it is not final, LTE boots-up in flash mode, so keep all options open for now)
Kinda weird that it would be in there, but anyways.... I have attached a copy of mine so people can look at it but you can confirm by looking at your own... Its in a rar file cause it wouldn't take it as is due to the file extension.....
This is what the file contains...
Code:
# For LTE (it is not final, LTE boots-up in flash mode, so keep all options open for now)
on property:dev.bootcomplete=1
start loadpreinstalls
exec /system/bin/ril-ip-bringup-chum.sh
service loadpreinstalls /system/bin/logwrapper /system/bin/load_pia.sh
disabled
oneshot
Just so this can stop, because it's ridiculous. I have to point out the obvious fact that there is no SIM slot in the X2. Therefore there is no 4g radio.

So after rooting and messing around with different roms and such, I installed an app called network that has been mentioned on here, to see about switching to 3G easily while at work.
Well I started noticing that the phone couldn't keep a 4G signal at all anymore, but didn't put 2 and 2 together because of some of the other stuff I had done, mainly flashing through 3 different roms in 45 mins.
Well I unrooted my phone, and got it exchanged today because of some terrible back light bleeding, that thankfully my new phone doesn't have, and rerooted the phone, restored all my apps on Mik Rom, and BAM, 4G goes screwy out of nowhere. So I looked through everything and the only networking type app I had was Network. I uninstalled it, and now instead of 998 ping and .5 d/l speeds I am averaging somewhere near 14 down and 71 ping.
Only change was that app. Anyone else have this issue after installing that app? Or if you are having 4G issues, and have this app, UNINSTALL IT!
just thought I'd throw it out there, considering it was making me really mad.
Just tested it myself and it's all good here.

Did you make changes in the network app?
The app is designed to DISABLE 4g. So if you made changes then yeah you would lose 4g.
Im sure this isnt the case, but wanted to mention it just in case.
I use mine to disable 4g since im not in a 4g Area but it works fine this way. But then again my 4g cant go screwy because it doesn't exist.

Hmmm... I notice your speedtest app actually showing an accurate upload (compared to the double digits people used to post. Is this an updated version? Speedtest had acknowledged inaccurate reporting on the TB.
I haven't been into the Atrix forums in a while, so I would like a rom recommendation.
I have an rooted, subsidy unlocked AT&T Atrix. Its currently running Homebase but I am having issues with it, primarily:
Xorg is using about 50% CPU cycles, causing the unit to run hot and killing my battery. Im not sure why, perhaps a memory leak, but whatever it is, I would still like to try something else.
I WANT webtop (Ubuntu) and maximum functionality. Fingerprint reader needs to work. HDMI w/o dock mod needs to work. I don't care about what the UI looks like as I'll replace it with GO Launcher.
BTW: I'm using a Galaxy S2 right now, prior to that a 4S, but something about the Atrix keeps me coming back to it. I love this phone, there is literally nothing else like it (feature wise) on the market. Not even the Atrix 2.

Wet Dream if you want to set your Atrix apart from the rest thanks to the Webtop Environment!
But you can also try ICS (CM9 KANG) if you haven't already tried it on the SGS2.
I've been using Wet Dream with a highly modified Webtop2SD environment but ever since I installed CM9 just to see ICS I truly think it's well worth it even on it's Alpha status.. (I think it has already upgraded to Beta status!) Woohoo!

I love CM9 so much.
But with Fingerprint+Webtop which are Moto's, u really shoulda go Wetdream, even if i had more issues with WET DREAM than with ICS yet
And i am writing this only to get my 10 posts to thank Jokersax for ICS so much

Verizon has a handful of new updates rolling out to their Motorola product line, starting with the 6.12.173 software update for the Droid RAZR and Droid RAZR MAXX.The Motorola DROID RAZR MAXX is a minor follow-up to the DROID RAZR specs-wise .The changelog for the update went live a few days ago and a few users lucky enough to be part of Moto’s early release program. An update is also being pushed to the LTE version of the Motorola XOOM. Users are already receiving the newest version of Android 3.2.6 for the tablet, which brings the software build to HLK75H.
Update: Verizon also has a pair of updates ready for the Motorola Xyboard 10.1 and Motorola Xyboard 8.2 that bring global roaming capabilities to the tablets, making them the first Verizon LTE devices to sport such capabilities. The update also includes fixes for WiFi/3G/4G data switching, improved touchscreen response, and browser enhancements. Owners should see the new software reach their tablets soon.
I received the update but it seems my signal is worse now. Maybe its my imagination.

My signal seems to be the same, but drops down to 3g or drops data altogether a lot more. I've seen it do it while I've been sitting on my couch not moving.

If we wanted to go back can we data wipe and not update or would we have to use a stock image to flash back?

Wiping Data will do nothing other than put your phone back to stock status, the same way as it was when you 1st bought it. If you want to go back you can use RSD Lite and the Fastboot files to go back.
Hey guys,
So the way this story starts out is my digitizer broke. The screen stopped responding one day and so I was like eh, I'll bring it in to get it replaced. I have the total protection plan and so it was no big deal. The guy took the screen out and put the new one in right in front of me.
As he was replacing the screen I said something about the mms messaging not working properly. I just couldn't get MMS messages anymore and when I sent them it would show them as sent but the person on the other end wouldn't get it. So he reset the profile I believe and changed maybe some other stuff server side(?). since then the phone has had TERRIBLE data speed. I mean next to useless.

I wasn't sure at first what the deal was. I reinstalled a different rom, flashed a new radio to see if that did it and it did nothing. I went back to the store to tell them they borked it, but the service guys were already gone for the night so I have to wait for tomorrow. My experience with these guys was bad before this but now it's even worse so I want to fix it myself if I can. Any guesses?
tl;dr Fix remarkably slow 3G. What can I do.
Nope, it wasnt the store, its just sprint. Those speeds seem just about right for sprint 3g.

I wish that were the truth. The first two were using wifi to make sure it worked. The rest are on 3G. In my area sprint usually flies and I tested the speed next to a few people that have sprint as well and they've been way, way higher. In some areas in my region I can get 800kbs down. No where near as slow as this.
it took awhile to get wimax on aosp roms for the og evo and 3d now that its lte will it be easier to get it working on aosp roms?

J/k, but from what I've read a LONG time ago, it'll be pretty much the same.
One developer claimed it'll be impossible. But who knows.

I was under the impression the the Thunderbolt had LTE in AOSP.....maybe not, who knows.
Also, It should help that the GNex is LTE. Given those maybe proprietary blobs (I really don't know how open Nexus code is) if its not, why wouldn't it be in relatively quickly? Yeah it's a different radio, but the interface should be similar across most of Sprints LTE devices.
EDIT: Yes, it seems the Thunderbolt does have LTE working in CM7
Edit 2: VZW's LTE has a removable SIM card for LTE Activation, I assume ours is very similar, with possibly embedded or spoofed SIM. This probably makes it at least easier to get to work because the device doesn't have to handle the authentication the the network, the network handles it.
