Glitch is good. Find it in the i9000 forum.
But battery will always be fairly poor, unless Ginger source is released for Vibrant. <-Ha! Not bloody likely

HA! ~ I like ur use of the werd "BLOODY"

[Q] 1.48ghz overclock

iv seen it a couple places of people overclocking at 1.48 on the vibrant and have searched and can't find anything.. I am the bible holder and was going to add.. but nothing there.. is this a self made and non-published kernel?
if im not mistaken its a non published alpha kernel.
It's an edt alpha kernel, and both the 1.44 and 1.48 version are awesome. Once they're ready for public release, it'll be the new hottest thing. I'm getting 2500+ on quadrant, if you care about that sort of thing.
Those kernels are not available to the public.

Work well for me. The most stable oc I have ever used. Also better battery life then a 1.2 kernel.

I have not flashed Bullet 1.48Ghz(yet) but i'm currently running Bullet 1.44Ghz and its running pretty stable for me. No FC or reboots to speak of, of course my phone has always played well with OCing. My avg batt life has been around 10hrs Quadrant around 2300, of course thats on Bionix1.3.1 im gonna run it in on Malice for a few days and see what i get, that ROM has been the kindest to me in regards to batt life when OCed.
Good luck to all! If you get a chance i'd check it out, as stated its not a "public release" so if you want it ur gonna have to do a little more searching as of now its not released on XDA. Its a private release from [EinherjarDevelopmentTeam]

Give it a shot on Heathen's JPJPM ROM. Im having around 12-14 hours running this while OCing to 1.3, all that disregarding the 2400 quadrant score Im getting.
This is all on Overstock 2.2.1 btw.

Yes Dan, same reason I mentioned to get it from their homesite. lol
When it comes to overclocking to 1.48ghz I will not recommend it as I have tried it with so many settings on the Temp from 47 degrees to 51 and is not stable at all.
I rather recommend 1.42ghz that is very stable and working great.
I would like to try those kernels....where i can find them??

And again....that's the same thing that's been there for a while now. Where can we find the NEW ones referenced in the start of this thread??? 1.48 and 1.44???
The new ones are said not be stable or at least not as stable as 1.42 has been.
And they are in the donators section...
Sent from my SGH-T959 using Tapatalk
Ok just donated. Glad to as I love EDT roms. Seeing new things on the site that were not there before so know the donation worked. Still not seeing where these are located. And yes, went to all the places previously mentioned and even logged out and back in again. Anybody?? It should not be that difficult to find or get a straight answer.

Axura rom

Heard axura was a great rom for battery and wanted to try it out cause I have terrible battery drain, however the original thread for the rom doesn't have a working dl link. Anyone know where I can dl the rom?

Use trigger 3.2
Its not 1983 anymore
[No disrespect to axura, it was my first vibrant rom, but go with trigger for one of THE BEST froyo roms out]

If you still aren't getting good battery with either of those then maybe try ZenDroid. Trigger, Project V, ZenDroid, and Bi-Winning have all been the roms I get the best battery with. If you don't have any luck with them I'm not sure where you will.

[Q] crappy battery life fix?

Ok so I'm new to the vibrant and I've been having some real crappy battery life. After like 2 hours of medium use on cm7 my battery is at 50%. When I was using my g2 I'd get like 8 hours of medium use running cm7 oc'ed 1.3ghz. But I have my vibrant at 1.2ghz and its horrible, same @ 1ghz. Is there any fix for this or should I start checking out some extended batteries?

CM7 isnt going to be the best battery anyway
flash a different kernel (dont know which iv never been on CM7) or go back to a 2.2 rom
i was using glitch hl kernel. and i dont get why i would go back to a froyo rom. froyo is outdated. but cm7 always had good battery life on my g2 so i dont get how a bigger battery would ause lower battery life.
Try bali kernel and callibrate ur battery with an app from the market u should see a difference

If htc released the source for the g2's newest android version, you'd notice a decent difference between the two phones. We're still missing some key drivers and an official leak.

This post looks complicated but it was pretty simple.
You mentioned not wanting to spend money, so I will warn you, it involves purchasing two apps.

This is incase you want to find out exactly why your battery life is crap and fix it, rather than living with it and buying cheap extra batteries (which is just as fine a solution).

Don't leave me behind Gingerbread! (best standby rom on GB)

Ok, so I made a thread about a month ago asking for a battery saving Froyo ROM, most suggested was Bi Winning, and i've been on it since.
While on Bi Winning I noticed something..
Sometimes my phone would be at 50% at night when i recharge it, or most of the time 70's and 80's
I know I don't use my phone extensively as most of you do, but MORE than HALF of the time, my phone is on standby. Are there any good GB roms that have good standby battery? I'm planning on going to the new ROM JETPACK, because I think it looks beautiful. Any suggestions guys?
Yes. Simply Honey just calibrate your battery. Trust me. But try jetpack

Gingerzen. I get about 18 hrs daily and for the most part my phone is in stand by. Its also not themed out with a bunch of junk like simply honey or any of those roms.

Best FroYo ROM

I havent used a FroYo ROM in quite sometime because i moved onto CM7 and now ICS, but i got my mom a Vibrant today and i was wondering what the most solid and fastest ROM is, I remember Bionix 1.3.1 was always great, but has anyone made a super killer FroYo ROM that you would suggest?
P.S. I am just looking for something that works with no kinks, GPS Working and good battery life.
Bionixxxx
Sent from my SGH-T959 using XDA App
Yep, I'd go with Bionix if you want a good, solid ROM with no kinks. I ran it for more than six months, and I loved it. Good GPS, great battery, just a solid ROM all around.
Link to thread here; http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=925548
I've run the gamut from 2.1-4.0 roms for our Vibrant, but Deranged 9 is my favorite. Great Battery life, working GPS, support for tons of themes once it hits final and as fast as CM7....

Seriously, I know its my rom, but its probably the most stable and up to date (last updated on Black Friday) froyo rom we have rolling around. I am running ICS currently, but I do still support ZD, in the rare occasion that support is needed. There are also vanilla froyo and gb themes available, with or without a multitude of lock screens thanks to contributions from the community.

he meant deprecated, not depreciated. meaning, it is old, out of use, and has been replaced (i.e. obsolete due to a newer, better version). i'm guessing 'deprecated' got autocorrected.

That's true. It's like asking which ice cream flavor is best. So try a few and see what floats your boat. But be careful though - if you start with ZenDroid you probably won't get around to flashing anything else.

I think Bionix is the most solid to date, but thats stating that we haven't perfected a 2.2.1 rom!!!
I am surprised no one has mentioned either Toxic8 or Deranged9. I have had nothing but solid, stable experiences on both if them. I feel that nearly all the Froyos are about as stable as they can get at this point.
ICS has taken over as the flavor most wanted, so not much on the future horizon for Froyo.
They all felt the same....just different features...
