Has the BBC finally blocked iplayer streams to apps like myplayer? None of them seem to work for me anymore, wondering if it is a mobile ISP thing or not?
Well I'm streaming BBC1 over 3g right now with the old version of myplayer with no problems.
I lost Iplayer yesterday still not working on official app.
Streams might have changed and MPlayer not picking them up .
jje
The official bbc iplayer app is not working for me either, and yes I switched to wifi before trying it.

I know that their are issues with the BBCi player and ICS update that means the app doesn't work on the Prime but, I found that in practice I can play recorded content from both t.v and radio but not receive live content. In fact their is no menu option to chose live t.v or radio in the app, well not that I can see.
Is anyone else seeing the same scenario? Is it just the Prime or indicative of all ICS powered equipment? Any ideas? Rumour of updates etc?
I know about the get-a-round vis the desktop version from a browser. I am just wondering if it is only my Prime that semi-runs the iplayer app or if this is just a result of the bbc not getting it's app update act together?
I have installed the iPlayer and all it does it to take me to iPlayers web site. The app does start with iPlayers black screen but immediately transfers me to the browser. It seems its trying to do something and then gives up.
I repaired phone software yesterday and worked fine prior to that but now when downloaded it requires bbci media player giving the impression it is about to work and then goes to black screen.Reloaded Adobe flashplayer .apk but to no avail.Trying to source BBCI player .apk and try work around.Such a pain.

I'm contemplating rooting my SGS3 but I know the TWC TV app live streaming does not work on rooted devices. Is there a simple way around this on a rooted device? Anybody out there rooted that has the streaming working in the TWC TV app?

there is not way around it as of yet on version 2.2 and the problem is that if you use an out dated version it wont let you use the app so previous fixes no longer work
Is TWC the save as Bright House? If it is there is a thread here.. http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1684823
Hi all
I have an Archos G9 running stock ICS 4.0.4 (Android 4.0.3). I have installed the BBC iplalyer app and can watch videos from the BBC iplayer website so there is no problem with Flash etc.
The problem I have is when I launch the app it doesn't run the app instead it takes me to the BBC iplayer website(I cannot post the url) . This is not whatI want as you can not stream live tv from this site.
I have done the obvious, reinstalled the app, cleared internet cahes etc, even contacted the BBC, and of course seached the net.
So two questions; the first is can anyone use the app on an Archos G9 and if so what do I need to do.
It is very annoying as my 7 inch resistive tablet running Andoid 2.3 works fine with the app
Thanks in advance
Nothing you can do.
New version of iPlayer app coming soon; hopefully it will allow us to stream.
BTW I can stream from the site : have you installed their new Media Player plugin?

Hi
Thanks for rapid response
Yes I have the Media Player app too and I can watch programmes from the website so if I go to say yesterday and select "The Paradise" that was broadcast at 9.00pm it will play fine
What I cannot find on the mobile iplayer website is where to stream live TV shows, if you can do so could you explain how
Also, if you have the iplayer app, does it also take you to the mobile iplayer website
Thanks
Yes the iplayer app just opens my browser to the iplayer website so I uninstalled it and use a shortcut instead.
Sorry I didn't pay enough attention to the OP so missed your request for live streaming.
For streaming live TV; search Google Play for "filmon"
Use either 'Filmon online TV' or 'FilmonX'; I can't tell the difference between them.

Hi
Thanks for this, at least I am pleased it is not just me !!
I have installed Filmon onlineTV and it does just just I want, in fact as it does so many channels it is even better
Thanks again:good:
And I just installed the long-awaited new version of the iPlayer app :
Features include:
- Watch live TV
- Listen to live radio
- Watch or listen over Wi-Fi and 3G networks
- Scroll through and find Featured and Most Popular programmes
- Add programmes to your favourites and have them ready and waiting when a new episode or series is available
- Browse through the schedule for upcoming programmes
And yet for me, the app still only serves as a shortcut to bbc.co.uk/mobile/iplayer
Sad.
Yep I was disappointed as well - just got a 23" touchscreen running with a small android box (Minix Neo X5) to go in the kitchen to do all sorts.
BBC site claims they have issues with screens bigger than 7" (or I guess higher resolutions) that they hope to fix. Not sure what problems they are but maybe someday!!
Anyone know of a side load us in north America can download this. I would love to have this for top gear. Do you Need a BBC account?

hi
so some channels on TVPlayer app only works via wifi. i use the app on my android tv box to stream live channels like bbc, itv etc etc. is there a mod to this app or maybe a spoof to make the channel work via ethernet? cos i've tried 'Fake Wifi Connection' modules from Xposed and it works only on certain apps like BBC iPlayer and Tune In Radio but not TVPlayer. i think TVPlayer is a much better app cos it lets u stream different live channels, plus iPlayer and ITV Player is not stable on my tv box. Ethernet is better than Wifi anyway. anyone can help me out?
Hi Guys,
Apparently, the Nexus TV player in the UK has a Now TV App. I was wondering if anyone will be able to provide me with the apk for the app. I tried sideloading the one from the Google Play store, but it loads sideways and I cannot navigate it using the remote. I am hoping this won't be the case with the Now TV app on the UK Nexus Player.
Any one at all? Pretty Please
It is apparently pre-installed on the UK version of the nexus player if that helps?
i'm in the UK and there is no NowTV app for the nexus player in the play store.
there is also no pre-installed app either.
I am in the UK as well and can confirm there is no preinstalled app, if there was one I think this would make me subscribe to the service.
ive only just picked an NP, updated to android 8 'O' and sideloaded a few apps after installing forced landscape app to fix the portrait display of now tv, all4 & itv hub.
i have the latest now tv app running fine apart from errors when i try playing a show. logs in fine & displays full menu & navigates well with mouse. i'm gonna try a fire tv fixed app to see if that works.
unfortunately i had All 4 working completely until this evening when i got an update notice with forces me to the store with no means of updating. itv hub has never worked & iplayer works without issue. a real mixed bag.
thank god it's got chromecast function otherwise i'd be furious with this very limited device. rooting seems inevitable.
