[Q] How to change stock drawer in touchwiz? - Galaxy S II Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hi,
I would like to replace the stock drawer with an alternative drawer but at the same time I want to maintain touchwiz 4.0. Is there a way to get rid of the stock application drawer?
Any help is greatly appreciated!
Cheers,
bamthwok

I use OPEN HOME from the Market (paid) and then use different Themes which are free, and for the lockscreen use lockbot (pro) gives my phone the IPhone lockscreen although you can choose different ones
If you just want to change the drawer maybe you might to have some knowledge of how to change them from withing and some DEV might assist you with that.
My suggestion would be try different launchers they are more fun and customisable although you loose abit of touchwiz

I would love to simply replace the contacts launcher with the browser one! I think I read the bottom panel is not customizable within TW4?

Look for "Alt Drawer" on here on Xda you can replace it on your home screen by using launchers like launcher pro or others to replace the original drawer on your dock, it maybe available on the market????

How can I resize my icons to be bigger on the homescreen without rooting?

I was wondering if someone could please help explain to me how to go about resizing my desktop icons? I've downloaded some GO themes that include larger icons and are easy to replace--the icons were big enough to cover the icon label text. I don't have the experience to mess with rooting, and would like to have the "cubed icons" I found big enough as well, but when I insert them using Astro file manager, they're small and don't cover the icon labels. I am new to Android and am using GO Launcher EX. I have known for a couple of years that the best work and insight comes from XDA. Thanks.

ADWLauncher has the setting for size of icons, and a bunch of other settings to change the way they look.
I'll look into that launcher, but I would like to maintain GO Launcher EX...if it's possible.

Ideally, I'd like to have my cubed icons the size of the Firefox icon in the pic...again remaining with GO Launcher EX.

So for anyone who might be looking for this same thing, Desktop Visualizer is the best option I've found. It can take a little time to go through all of the icons and set them up, but ultimately it will give you the ability to size icons and route them to whatever shortcut/app you'd like. You could even get rid of app labals as well, if you wanted to. Here's what I was able to do.

What Theme/Icons are these?

So this pic is on the ADW EX launcher home page but I can't seem to find those icons (Browser,Google+,etc..) and dock that are shown in the launcher anywhere... does anyone know what theme or icons those are? Thank you

Gee, I don't know??? Maybe they are the widgets and icons that come with the ADW Launcher EX. Why don't you go buy it today its onsale for 10 cents.
They don't come with it. I bought it hours ago and it doesn't come with any Widgets. Still a huge upgrade from CM's crappy stock ADW.

Can we change the icon set without touching anything else?

Hi devs/experts,
I am extremely excited about the S3 but my only gripe is that the icons (phone, messaging, contacts) etc look very dated.
Fortunately it's android, so we can change them (I assume).

}
So can we change them without keeping everything else in the phone stock?
If there's a solution to this quickly then I will do it the first thing after I get the phone.
Thanks!
Should be in the Q&A section........as far as i know NO you can not change touchwiz icons.
maybe someone else can shed more light on this for you though.
It is possible with other launchers adw for example
moved to q & a
use something like apex or nova launcher =)

This is dependent on the launcher, and for Samsung's launcher, I don't think so.
Of course, with root explorer, all things are possible.
You can do it, and here are the instructions: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=14091873&postcount=315

Only one way.. Use a custom launcher.. If you are running CM then the launcher has an option to disable the widget.
Disable it
Disable the widget
CyanogenMod Launcher that is the Trebuchet has the option to disable persistent Search Bar. But I don't think it could be done in AOSP based ICS phones which uses stock launcher. Custom Launchers like Apex, Nova etc. have the feature you're looking for.
A custom launcher is the only way, sorry. Apex, Nova, Trebuchet etc. can all do this.

Any of these launchers 100% working as the standard one except not having the search bar?

Looking for alphabetical app launcher

Hi
I'm looking for a slide-out app or a widget or whatever, that resembles Action launcher's alphabetical app drawer. Aviate Launcher has something like this too. I love this for quickly finding an app I want. I'm really liking Themer for my launcher though, and want to keep using that.
Any suggestions?
Looks like this:
{
"lightbox_close": "Close",
"lightbox_next": "Next",
"lightbox_previous": "Previous",

"lightbox_download": "Download",
"lightbox_share": "Share",
"lightbox_zoom": "Zoom",
"lightbox_new_window": "New window",
"lightbox_toggle_sidebar": "Toggle sidebar"
}
Seems easy to add. Hope they do it soon.
I second that for more customization options like that. User with less app will find this is not a big deal for them, but for those with a lot of apps with find it useful. There's folder options that we can sit related apps inside to separate each of the types but this customization will add more juice, of course. :good:
