Flash the stock firmware through KDZ updater. This will bring your stock ROM back. Search the forums for it.

Could you please let me know how can i do this, I am trying to find it myself too but if anycase you have tried please let me know, Do i need to do it even when I am trying to do stock recovery ?
I don't see what installing TWRP 2.5 has anything to do with this install. OP is installing stock ROM with odin which means stock recovery.
You should be using Odin to do the install as instructed in the link. I don't understand why the stock recovery is even showing after a restart or why the you would toggle it after a flash.

Let me draw you a picture. Flash TWRP with Odin. Let it root the phone. Use TWRP to flash the rom, stock or custom.
Installing stock anything doesn't mean stock recovery. Odin is used when phone is in download mode.
But the ROM he is flashing is a stock.tar. That can only be flashed with odin. Custom recovery has nothing to do with it and will not help him achieve what he is wanting to do. OP has even mentioned he wants stock recovery. What he is doing in stock recovery after flashing the ROM with Odin has me baffled.
I don't know why "Install TWRP" is the answer to all problems on this forum. Running the updated CWM has suited me just fine and has been able to flash any ROM I wanted to try.
about a month ago I tried to change to a new ROM on my sgh-i717R model note which was already rooted running TWRP and a custom ROM that I had installed quite awhile ago. I did not realize that TWRP had to be updated to a newer version to use the 4.4 ROMS and the update failed and bricked my phone. I managed to fix it and put back a stock Rogers 2.3.6 ROM and it put back the original samsung recovery. The problem now besides being on an old ROM there is a lot of input lag using on screen keyboard, so I want to try a new custom ROM to see if it fixes things, but when I try to flash a new recovery with Odin (TWRP 2.8.0.0), Odin tells me that everything is good and it passes, but when I then reboot my device and go into recovery mode afterwards, it is the same samsung recovery mode with only the custom binary download counter incremented, but TWRP is nowhere to be found... I have tried with several versions of TWRP and it is the same thing.

yeah it was unrooted, but you cannot root without putting the custom recovery first.. Anyways I solved the problem, for some reason TWRP does not work (even though I tried all the versions specified for quincyatt and sgh-i717) but I was able to put on CWM no problems and re-root with superuser from there.

I know this thread is a couple weeks old but I thought I'd add something that I have found that might help if someone else has this problem.
The only way I was able to install the new version of TWRP was to install the old one first while rooting the phone then download the new versions .zip and update it via TWRP. I was able to get the new version working that way and now I am able to flash any rom I want with no issues.
Hope this helps others.
Hi everyone. First time posting on the forums and unfortunately it's because of a major problem . So here's my situation:
A couple days ago I decided i would try to update my phone to 5.0 because the update was pushed OTA for the ls990. It supposedly installed with no error, but when it went to reboot it took me straight into my custom recovery. Now when i try to restore from backup, flash a new rom, or wipe the system it will say it was successful, but nothing will change and each time i reboot it takes me right back into recovery. I've tried booting into system or bootloader, but both of those options take me right back into recovery. If i pull the battery and wait then repower the phone it takes me right back into recovery. I need some help here because my phone is practically bricked, yet i still have access to ONLY recovery mode. During each reboot the LG logo does flash on the screen (not sure if that info is useful though). Here's what i'm running:
Specs:
Rooted and Bumped Sprint LG G3 (ls990)
Stock ROM
TWRP Recovery
Maybe this happened because it was a stock update and i didn't have stock android recovery for it to complete the upgrade? My /boot folder appears to be empty in TWRP, but im not sure if that's just because its not even mounting it or if im actually missing a kernel, bootloader, or something else. ANY help or advice will be greatly appreciated. Thank you for your time.
Your gonna have to restore using this guide. It did happen because you were on custom recovery, anytime you want stock upgrade, you must unroot it and put stock recovery back on 1st. It's not bricked if it comes on, only softbricked, which can be fixed with download mode. That guide is well written.

also it was not the android 5.0 update..
Try this first before using the LG Flash tool

It should hopefully save you from wiping the phone completely.
Thanks

I reverted to stock firmware using the instructions on that thread and now everything is working! Thank you very much.
Now the only problem is that it seems the new sprint update patched the stump root exploit. Guess ill have to do the firmware flash again lol.

I think you need zv4 firmware to avoid this problem.

Thank you very much, It works like a chime
I have this problem in yunique i only instaled twrp and it is rebooted into recovery menu but i can't restart my phone it is always going to recovery menu when trying to restart
Select reboot --> Boot to bootloader
When in fastboot
type
fastboot devices
then type
fastboot continue
This will fix the twrp loop issue.
I'm running on a stock rooted phone, and AT&T tells me that I have a software update available. As I tried to update, my phone restarts and it just goes straight to the TWRP screen. Any idea of what to do?
You need stock recovery to flash update.

Easy way if you have TWRP is to flash the Guru_Reset and during install choose stock recovery and say no to Root
Guru_Reset_M7_5.12.502.2_clsA.zip
