[Q] Windows Media Center in Windows 7 x64 / AllShare app - Galaxy S II Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hi guys,
since i run HTPC with Windows Media Center on Windows 7 64-bit i was wondering how it works with Samsung's AllShare app. After setting up media streaming and sharing on Windows 7 and starting AllShare i see in all media categories in WMC under Shared tab my mobile device and i can browse media saved in SGS2. It works perfect for video files and music. When i choose Pictures i see thumbnails of pictures from SGS2, but if i choose some particular picture and want to display it i get message 'Unable to display picture.'. I can not start presentation of pictures too. There are normal JPEG pictures in SGS2 taken with camera...
Maybe it is problem of WMC, because when i choose 'push' type of display in Windows Media Player (i choose file on SGS2 side) it works ok and Windows Media Player displays picture i choose in mobile device. On the other side, when i copy some picture from SGS2 to other computer in network with Windows 7 it can be displayed without problems
I spent whole day looking for some solution how to display pictures directly in WMC, but without success so i appreciate any advice or at least answer 'Hey it works for me' so i know it is not problem of AllShare. Thanks.

[Q] MyNet / UPnPlay question

Love it - works great both to and from my HTPC to my Prime and my EVO 3d (I am actually using uPnPlay more as it lets you choose the video player to play incoming video adn the default mynet player doesn't support a lot of video formats)....Only problem I have is that my computer is only available to send vid/pics to when windows medai player is already open. Any owrk around for this? (or prefferably I would like to send it to windows media center instead of windows media player), but it sort of defeats the purpose if I have to walk over to my computer and open windows media player before sending vid/pics to it. I am sure I am missing something but am not finding any answers and very little info about this via google searches/searches here. (yeah I know this really isn't a prime specific topic but thoughtmaybe someone here could help) - thanks

[Q] How to connect via DLNA from Android to PC (WIN 7)?

Hi,
my girlfriend wanted to look her pictures from the PC on her smartphone.
So, I found that the Windows Media Player (WMP) supports DLNA and activated it.
On the SGS 3 I activated the settings for DLNA.
In the Windows Media Player I now can see the SGS 3.
And now?
How can I transfer pictures from WMP to Android?
I tried it with drag & drop but it didnt work.
So I tried some DLNA-Apps from the market.
But no one can see my WMP, only the FritzBox Media Server.
I deactivated the firewall but that didnt work either.
Last hope was the BubbleUPnP APP, but that App needs an server address, I guess from WMP.
Can anyone help me please?
You should try ArkMC
It automatically finds your PC in network (note, that they should be in same network)

[Q] Video player for L920, which is best?

As per now nothing. Wait for sometime vlc player for windows phone will be out soon
Sent from my RM-821_im_india_443 using Board Express
You really don't have a choice currently.
As mentioned VLC reached its kickstarter goal for Windows 8/RT/Phone 8 development. Though we don't have a date you can keep track of development on the kickstarter page
What is really interesting;
DLNA client and server integration — Play media stored on DLNA capable servers on your Windows RT tablet or Windows Phone — Stream everything VLC can play on your tablet or Windows 8 PC to your DLNA capable devices
Click to collapse
I don't think I'm the only one looking for a proper DLNA client app. Being able to access my NAS would be incredibly nice.

[Q] Trouble viewing photos from PC.

I'm trying to view photos stored on my PC with my newly acquired 16GB Tablet Z.
I already have a PS3 Media Server installed for using music & photo files on the TV via the PS3.
The tablet has connected to the PC with WiFi ok & the PS3 Media Server is showing in the My Albums option in the 'Album'
app. When I explore the folders - there are up to 5 levels for photos - the tablet only shows up to 16 sub folders and within those only a max of 16 photos.
I thought maybe it's a memory issue but it can take up to 30 seconds to load the 16 photos (say 70MB) so it is clearly accessing the pc storage.
How can I get to view all the folders & their contents on the Tablet??
I spent 20 minutes with the Sony support team & they had no solution.... hmmm, not impressed.
I hope you guys can do better!
Thanks,
Phil.
Hmmm - OK, surely I'm not the only one trying to view photo files held on my PC with the tablet, am I??
I thought I'd try a different route.
I'm now trying to set up Windows Media Player as the server, all looks ok but the only photo file it can pick up has a sort of 'mountain' icon rather than a photo. Really weird as everything appears to be set up ok.
Any ideas out there??
thanks,
Phil.
Now all sorted!!
The answer is... install 'Serviio' software on the PC which is a decent server app in contrast to Windows Media Player and install 'BubbleUpnP' software on the tablet.
From their website....
BubbleUPnP is a full featured UPnP/DLNA Control Point, UPnP Media Renderer and UPnP Media Server. Play easily your music, videos and images on your phone and devices on your network (DLNA TVs, XBMC, WMP, ...), from your external UPnP Media Servers. Play your phone/tablet media to those devices.
Browse and play your local phone/tablet and cloud media from other devices (PS3, ...).
It is brilliant. Now everything works a treat.
By the by... Sony Customer Service were no help whatsoever!

chromecast, miracast, airplay ... I don't know for my usage ... please help

Hi all,
I'm looking for a device to do mainly the following things :
- play music from my laptop (windows 7), stored on a NAS. Via midows media player, VLC ... It's very easy to manage playlist with specific software audio on PC (sorted by albums, artists, or files ...)
- play music and/or videos from my laptop (windows 7), from youtube, deezer ...
- play photos & videos from my laptop (windows 7), stored on my NAS. Via windows photo viewer, picasa ...
- and incidentally play photos and videos from my phone S7 Edge
- and if possible, have the same image than my laptop : mirror
I would like to do something simple, but wireless. Indeed, I work today with Jack and HDMI cables between my laptop and my Yamaha amplifier ... But not practical.
Do you have an idea of which type of device I need to buy : chromecast, miracast, EZcast, chinese clone like that :

I will be good for a Chinese clone, the price is very interesting. But I dont know if it will meet my needs. But also be reliable
Thanks a lot for your help
