I searched and could not locate any information on how to resolve the screen pixel density issue with the Honeynook demo...so I started to play around with different settings by editing the build.prop...dozens of FC's later I stopped and decided to give it a rest...
However one day while on the bus to work, I decided to try using LCD density from the market...this worked!
...but a funny thing happened, when I dropped the density over 180 the Honeycomb launcher was replaced by what looks like ASOP lock screen and black status bar with white fonts , I then installed LauncherPro...check out the screen shots. (Playing around with higher settings changes the status bar to grey with black fonts, I did not screenshot those)
Then I started looking for a way to change the wall paper and show Picasa pictures. I found a thread with an APK to 3D Gallery which worked...screen shots below.
I'm not a dev; just tinkering with these ROMs...thought it might be informational as I have seen multiple threads where they mention how Honeycomb is not for phone devices...obviously there seems to be some phone stuff in there.
- Big thanks to Deeper-Blue for making this ROM
- Dalingrin for the 1.1Ghz Kernel
- Cicada for sparking my interest in froyo on this
- Samuelhalff for all the emmc posts, I learned a lot!
Anyone I missed…my bad, but thanks!
- my colors are all inverted, some setting i must have mised using the screenshot app-
What you did was changed the LCD density to a cell phone density. Honeycomb is designed to change the IU from tablet to phone based on density settings. The max you can change it to and keep the tablet format is 160. anything beyond that changes the ui to a 2.2 like UI

Hello there, noob here
I'm getting confused with all the info about the SGII out there, so I wonder:
1) I've got the Lightning ROM installed and it says there in the desc "better camera", is this a different hack from the one Potatoman released here? And if it is, can I savely install the 192kbps audio hack with that ROM and do I lose the camera improvements that came with that ROM?
2) Is there a way to invert the system colours easily, like have dark text on white background instead of the bright text on black background thingy?
I mean not just for themes (e.g. homescreens etc) but for the system menus etc, so it'll have a coherent, seemless look? I did stumble upon the "Change colours" tutorial here but it seems rather tricky and I'm scared to fiddle with the system files on my own :/
Or is there -perhaps- some ROM out there that includes such already?
Don't get me wrong, I don't think the white text on black bg is bad per se but I find it easier on the eyes if it's the other way round (like it's on the iPhone *cough*)
Cheers!
Hi,
I have installed GingerDX (v027) on my X8. In the Theme Chooser I have two themes to choose from: ICS and System (which is the one I use).
I really like how my phone looks as it does now, the only thing I would like to change is the color of the icons in the status bar (and of the main icons, if possible, of Call, Messages, Browser and the like) from green to something else, preferably blue.
I asume the right way to do this is by changing the theme (please correct me if I'm wrong).
I've read that CyanogenMod usually comes with three default themes (one theme in three different colors) and I would like to know where I might be able to find those themes (again, I'm asuming that the one I'm using, System, is one of those three).
I have tried downloading CM7 and extracted the files in the hope that I could find .apk files for the themes, but if they're there I don't know what they're called (there is a ThemeChooser.apk (and a ThemeChooser.odex file that I don't know what does), which I asume would install the app Theme Chooser again, but I don't know if the themes are included in that install).
I am a bit worried, though, that I've misunderstood something, because when I try to apply the other theme, Ice Cream Sandwich, the color of the icons aren't changed (but, there is also a warning when I try to apply the theme about missing assets for my screen size, maybe that is what is screwing things up). But if I have misunderstood this entire thing and a theme doesn't change the colors, then what does (do I need to get a new launcher for that then)? (I have the Nemus Launcher that came with GingerDX by the way)
Okay, this got a bit lengthy, so to recap:
I want to change the standard green color (to blue) without changing much else (I'm not too fond of most other themes I've seen, so the default theme in other colors would be fantastic)
Is it possible to find those default themes, and if so, how and where?
Thank you for your help,
Erica
(A side question: how do I delete the ICS theme?)
The other two themes you are talking about are Cyanbread and Androidian. The ThemeChooser.apk it's the theme chooser itself. They are normal CM7 themes, like ICS. Devs have eventually removed those 2 themes from their ROMs because they were old and not maintained anymore. System theme is the default theme of CM7/Gingerbread. You can't uninstall that one.
The "missing assets for the screen size" it's a bug which appears whenever you try to apply an MDPI theme. It's not screwing up anything, I can assure you that.
Also, what colors are you trying to change? Maybe you could give some screenshots.
You can delete the ICS theme by going into system/apps/ with a file manager with root capabilities.
First of all, thank you for the quick reply! (that was so unexpected - I guess I'm used to slow moving forums)
Secondly, it worked! Once I knew the names of the themes it was easy to find them. Also, thank you for the general info - it's good to know (I'm slowly becomming a little less of a noob).
Erica
Also have a look at themed & apps section....
there are some nice themes created by Chris95X8 & achep...
Is it important how did i send this?
Can some help me get my hands on a free version of steel blue theme? It looks great!!!
(Neo_na, isn't that a bit off topic? Oh well.)
If anyone's curious, here's an update on my color problem.
Installing Cyanbread sort of solved the issue: it changed the icons in the status bar from green to blue and the icon color (as well) from green to blue, which was what I wanted.
It didn't though change the color of the dots at the top of the screen (the ones that show where you are on the desktop) which was still green. I'm guessing, now that I know a bit more about themes and their different options, that it would have been possible to choose to hide those dots, but since I didn't know better I went looking for another solution (another reason for that is also that although Cyanbread is blue, then it's not the right kind of blue that matches the cover color of my phone - yes, I'm a bit of a perfectionist...)
I went looking for themes and found that both ADW and Go Launcher EX had a lot of good ones. I quickly realized, though, that none of those themes changed the status bar (which meant that I was back to my original problem).
So, here's my final solution (at least until I dare try my hand at making my own theme):
I found and installed a CM7 theme whose status bar I liked.
Then found a (in this case AWD) theme whose icons I liked.
Then changed the background image.
= a phone without any green!
(In the end I veered away from blue and I've ended up with a nice light glassy white combination that works really well with my prefered wallpaper. I've still chosen to hide the status bar though, since it's not a complete match and the screen looks better without it. And I've went into the CM7 settings to customize the lockscreen to fit as well as posible - I tried finding Go Locker themes, but none of them were perfect. The only odd bits of stray color is now an orange line that shows when you hit the top and end of the app drawer and I've had to chose to hide the background of the dock icons, since it looked botched on my phone for some reason - both are things I can easily live with.)

Nope, I don't think so. Coz its under themes category with a thread named 'default themes for theme chooser' so I just posted my question in a similar thread, which is, I am looking for a theme called steel blue.
And also since Chris is a Guy famous for theming I was hoping for an answer from him.
@chris - And btw, your xperia s theme looks great mate!!
This might just be pouring fuel on the fire, but...
Neo_na: The reason why I think your post is off topic is because it has nothing to do with the original post (it might fit in with the title, but only if you haven't read the rest of the post).
I think you need to ask your question in another thread, possibly make a new thread for it, if you want it answered (especially since I've already labelled this thread as answered).
Though, just a warning, I think your request might clash with the forum rules (about not promoting or discussion "warez"). Just a heads up.

Lol, I'd rather post in existing threads that are very similar to my query rather than create threads for each and every question, like you probably do (which is like spamming and discouraged by xda). haha.... and no, you're not pouring fuel...... and btw, there's no such thing as private threads even if the thread was created by you..... you're acting like nobody can post or ask anything coz its YOUR thread and only your issues should be solved in this thread. Its like a Guy claiming a public phone Booth to be his alone....,..
Hi!
I made a Jelly Bean inspired Theme for the new rom: CyanMobile eXperience [2.3.8][MB526]
Instructions:
- download the file
- copy to your SD Card
- install it with File Manager
- go to ThemeChooser, and apply
- ignore the warning, apply anyway
- REBOOT!!!
- after that, just use Your Phone!
If You find some bugs, errors or something, just report me here in post, or send me a private message! If You can, make a screenshot, so it is easier to find, what is the problem!
There are two different files, one for CyanMobile Experience, and one for "pure" CM7.
If You use some of CM7 version, than download: JBT v1.2
If You use CyanMobile Experience, than download: JBTEX v1.1
Here are a lot of screenshot for CM7 version and here for CyanMobile !
If You have any question, suggestion, support, or anything else, just find the way to do it!
hi,
it looks really nice but the system ui stat icons for off (e.x.com_android_systemui_stat_2g3g_off.png) are to dark, i can see it on the status bar is it possible to make it brighter?
the signal png never go blue and i have a H connection.
i use the maniac cm7 rom.
thnaks for your work
smoky
I updated the Theme, You can download here: JBT v1.1
Now the power widget OFF color is the same, as the icons on the statusbar. It is more visible on Sunshine
Edit: At ThemeChooser, it's no preview screen. It's a windows bug.
Edit_2: The H connection problem: I don't know, what is the problem, I tryed it now, and at me everything looks good. Anyone else, who has the problem, that the signal bars don't go blue? (see attached file below)
plzz....support mdpi
thanks
MDPI
It's difficult, to support MDPI size. I made this theme for my Defy, an it's HDPI, so the theme is also HDPI ONLY!
And why? Because when I change something, I can verify that looks good, it fits, the color or something is good or not.
Unfortunately I don't have any phone with mdpi screen, so I can't test. That is the reason for HDPI only.
Hi there, I'm using it on my Defy+ (with CMX) atm, and I love it.
Thank you
I have, one simple question thou. I happen to have a little bit diffrent color (cyan) than the one your screenshoot (lightblue).
All I found was how to change color of diffrent items, or global font color, but...
Is there easy way to change the whole color setup so it would look exactly like on the screenshoot? Oh, and btw, may I know the hex code for that lightblue color of yours?

Hi!
Ideally the color change automatically, but in CMX I find this bug too, but for me was just the lockscreen, what doesn't changed the color. If You go to Settings (I use now euroskank, so sorry, if I don't remember exactly where You sould go), CyanMobile Settings - Interface tweaks - Status bar tweaks - here You find a lot of "xyz color" , and the hex code is the right color ( ff33b5e5 ), just the system can't change. Just choose the option, that you want to change the color, then pick in the middle of the color circle, and it will be change!
The colors, what I used, is the same as find HERE, but what You looking for is: 33b5e5 !
Thanks, looks great
Great theme, could you change the color text of the "state" of the sms? I mean, Sent at 13:28, because I use the black wallpaper in mms.apk, and the color text is black, so I can't see it, im using CM7, thanks.
Thanks for reporting, I changed the color to blue. The new version have some minor updates too.
Download:
JBT v1.2
JBTEX v1.1
I changed the files in the first post too.

Can someone tell me how to make the settings app dark in lollipop 5.0.2. I have used holo themer and it didnt change the white background. I have been searching ever since i rooted on 5.0.2 lollipop for a way to change the white backgeound in settings and have not found a way that works. Does anyone know where the white image that is used for that background is in the filesystem. I really cannot stand thw white background. My sons samsung mega on 5.0.2 has a black settings menu. Can anyone help me to make the z3v have dark settings. PLEASE HELP
If you're not rooted, (also works if you are rooted) the best you've got is Sony's own theme creator. It's still in beta unfortunately, I can't say how well it works. But I'm sure it'll have what you need. You can find it here.
If you are rooted, There is a way. Sadly I don't have the knowledge to do such things. But, I'm 100% sure there's a way to change the values of the coloring in the settings app, by tweaking the code in some way. (It won't be an actual picture file btw, just a set of numbers [rgb]) If you dig deep enough into the forums here, I'm sure you'll find the method somewhere. Not just under the Z3v forums either, it'd be worth it to look in other devices forums, the settings app is pretty universal. I think. If custom rom developers have found a way, you can too. Just needs some effort.
Well, ive been looking around all over xda as well as searching high and low on google search for references to changing the settings menu . But have not been able to find anything helpful to me, that tells anything about changing specificly the settings background. Besides hey use holo themer it works. But i have not been able to get holo to change the white background. Ive seen changes in the text and action bar with holo themer. But nothing affects the white background. I now have a white border around the text. But the background is still white. Ive tried many themes. None of which gave me anything but white settings. Ive been putting out alot of effort to change the settings to somthing dark. All i can find is threads talking about changing random settings period. Not the app itself and its background. My sons and mothers samsung and lg phones on lollipop all have dark settings.. But no way ive tried that works to make xperia settings dark. Ive found threads for other xperias that have modified settings apk. But not sure if they would work or make my settings dissapear since they arent for z3 or z3v
