Few days ago I installed the Miui 1.7.15 Cobarto, im on bb58 (if its count) and a really big pain in my a$$ to answerr the calls.
The screen goes black, the phone keeps ringing, and the screen turn on again, but have no time to slide down to answer and the screen turn off again.... so on
Currently using for theme the Android3 with 5 points lockscreen.
Any advice how can it be less complicated?

i have mcr3.0, sometimes it rings immediately, sometimes not. it is obviously a problem with the phone (not the network or something): when i use xbmc remote for my mediacenter it will show the caller on my tv immediately, but it takes a few seconds for the phone to ring.
I read that if the file that you set for your ringtone is .ogg then it will appear immediately, but if it was mp3 then it would be delayed?
I would like to change the screen that comes on when a call is connected and has the end call button. I really like the TripnMiui iris froyo rom but the proximity sensor keeps allowing the screen to come on and my face disconnects my call and dials another call. It only happens on the miui rom not the arc roms. I've changed to the arc dialer by changing the contact.apk but that only changes the dialer screen. Anyone know how to change the call connected screen?
yeah its kinda ugly..
i've started a thread for this.. go here..

Good workaround. Thanks!
I am a new android owner. When I make a phone call the proximity sensor turns the screen off... great, no accidental screen pressing. However, when I finish the phone call or take the phone away from my ear... I get the lock screen. Why? Why doesn't the screen just go back on to whatever screen was on before the phone call... like the dial pad.
I find this annoying. To hang up a phone call, I have to unlock the screen first.
What phone are you using? Software version etc and are you rooted? This doesn't happen to me so it's not a general android issue.

I have the Moto Droid X. Running CyanogenMod 7.1. Also using exDialer as a dialer replacement.
Does it happen with the stock dialer? If not that's your answer

Yep it happened with the stock dialer on ICS and it is happening with JB as well. I am really surprised it doesn't bother more people. What is most annoying is that, I initiated a new call and put my phone to my ear to only that the call did not even establish (e.g., due to network iss ue) and when I want to place the call again, it is already locked. It is definitely due to the proximity sensor, as the same thing doesn't happen if i never put the phone to my ear and just keep watching the screen to confirm that the call did get established (and started ringing).

If you are rooted, disable your Proximity Sensor in a call. To do so, add following line to /system/build.prop file:
Code:
gsm.proximity.enable=false
.
Plus, make sure to make screen timeout period long. You can use Widgetsoid app (or, other toggle apps) to make it infinite.

I have display timeout set to 2 minutes, so that can't be the problem, as the whole experience when the call is not connected only takes 10 or 15 seconds to complete. However I have security setting to lock the screen in 5 seconds after the display goes to sleep. Perhaps that is somehow related, so I just increased it to 30 seconds, I will see if the problem goes away.
I've searched with several different search strings and haven't found an answer to this question, so here goes;
When I place a call and bring the phone to my ear the screen turns off (dims?). At the end of the call after I bring the phone away from my ear, it takes several seconds for the screen to turn back on, sometimes it doesn't turn back on unless I press the power button.
First, is this the normal behavior for the phone app on the I777?
Second, is there a setting somewhere to change the delay for the "screen on after a call" (I know there is a setting in settings-display for screen time-out).
I hate to make the comparison, but on my iPhone (No flaming please, I'm reformed) the screen turned off and on very quickly and I just wonder what I need to do to get that kind of response on the SG2, during the phone call.
BTW, I'm running UnNamed 2.2.1 (Gingerbread 2.3x) with Entropy's kernel.
Thanks for any help.
Clean your screen.
You using a case? Maybe it's partially blocking the proximity sensor.

Ironically I had the same experience in UnNamed to I assumed it was just the nature of GB. It may very well have been as I don't have that issue with ICS based ROMS. And I like the dialer better to boot.

OK,
I'm in the throes of upgrading to an ICS ROM, so maybe I'll just go ahead and see if that fixes the problem.
Thanks for the answers
I think its a sensor issue having to due with how long it waits to scan again after light levels are changed. No idea what stock settings are but I can say I don't have a problem with it on AOKP.

The screen turns black immediately when you press the call button or when you put your phone to your ear? In the second case that is normal, because the proximity sensors turns the screen off to prevent you to end the call without your will and when you take the phone from ear everything comes to normal,it is a feature you can disable it in call options I belive
