[Q] Problems Cyanogen OR Liberated Aria for flash player? - HTC Aria Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Before rooting and install CyanogenMod 7.1, if I remember well, I installed Flash 10.1 and it worked on my HTC GRATIA (european model of Aria).
Now, i do not understand:
1) "adobe flash" OR "htc flash lite" work only with htc sense??
So if I download liberated aria rom it should work?
2) Is this the last version: "http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=819715" ??
Any well know bugs?
3) Sorry, if I am probably stupid, but which one I have to install:
liberated_aria_FR008_signed.zip
md5: 9bdc6527f67b545d9a388bc022555c49
OR
FR008 Default:
http://droid.neolobster.com/roms/htc...-v2-signed.zip
Other less important questions:
4) I had problems playing mp4 video file, and you?
5) Does the market work on liberated aria? at first installation I had troubles..?
6) Is better Cyanogen or Liberated ??
Thanks a lot and sorry for so many (stupid) questions!

Adobe Flash doesn't work on the Aria or Gratia or any variation of the Liberty. This is because the processor inside the phone is not compatible with it.
HTC Sense includes something called Flash Lite which is created by HTC (and as such cannot be used with non-Sense ROMs). This gives you very limited support for some Flash elements, but definitely won't work with the more complex Flash like videos and such.
Recently there was a hacked version of Adobe Flash 10.1 that appeared on the Internet which makes it run -- somewhat -- on ARMv6 devices like the Aria/Gratia. It seems to work on the simpler Flash elements, but it will "crash" if you try to do anything too complex like a YouTube video.
Ultimately there is no good solution for the Aria/Gratia. You just have to accept the fact that Flash will never fully work on this phone.

Yes, liberated_aria_FR008_signed.zip is what you want if you are installing attn1's 2.2.0 Liberated. There is a similar ROM based on the AT&T 2.2.2 ROM which is available here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=970272 (skip all the way to the very end of the first post). This probably is somewhat better because of various bugfixes between Android 2.2.0 and 2.2.2.

Best 1.5 ROM or downgrading back to 1.5?

This may sound silly, but a poorly programmed camera app that I really love (Retro Camera) can't produce high res images on my rooted Hero (running basic 2.1 for Hero), as evidently the OS is using so much memory not enough is left for the app to render the photo twice (like I said, it's pretty godawful code on their part).
But, I like the images it produces enough that I'm considering rolling back to 1.5 to see if that works (pretty sure it used to do high res for me before I rooted and upgraded).
I was hoping for some recommendations of fast, stable, low-ish memory use 1.5 ROMs. Or is there a way for me to just roll back to standard 1.5 without overwriting the rooting in case I decide speed and features are indeed more important than pretty pictures?
Just flash the 1.5 rom image using your custom recovery. Use the standard wipe options.
MoDaCo had a pretty well respected 1.5 rom. Look for a final of that if I were you. The others had so many tweaks you had no idea what you were getting, very hit and miss.
Have you tried Vanilla 2.1 builds? I would recommend trying them first as 1.5 had worse memory management IIRC.
Thank you. I'll try a Vanilla 2.1 ROM first, that sounds like a better solution if it works.
You tried a Froyo build? They're vanilla, but I dunno how much RAM is needed, so can't comment...
Haven't tried a Froyo ROM yet, but no luck with VanillaEclair or the latest 2.1version of Cyanogen that I could find. I've found several Sprint Hero users with unroofed phones running 2.1 and getting high res to work. I suppose it could be the hardware, pretty frustrating.
Try Modaco 3.2 along with the lightspeed kernel from here somewhere. I think I kept that setup for 2 - 3 months without feeling the need to flash anything else,....

Can't go wrong with Modaco 3.2.
Do you want Sense or Vanilla?

AFAIK (I only got my Hero in May so that's when I came to XDA since it was my first smartphone) but no Donut ROM was ever completed (I could be wrong, I am not sure) but there is a partially completed one.

Just flashed to CM7!!! What Google App ROM is the best?

I finally figured out how to unlock my bootloader and flashed to CM7 (Im a newb so this is a big accomplishment!!!)
Im using ROM Manager to flash the Google App Pack, but which one should I go with?
There are three for it that look right:
Recommended for CM7.1 2.3.5
Recommended for CM7.1 2.3.4
Recommended for CM7.0 2.3.3
Is one better than the other, or more relliable?

first off, wrong second
second, generally higher numbers mean newer versions. so go with 7.1 2.3.5, since that's the Android version that CM7 is running right now.

I had the same issue. First uninstall the currently installed flash player, then go to the market and get the new one. Worked for me.

htc wildfire software

i don't know is there a thered about this but i have rooted my htc wildfire wit wildpuzzle 2.2 (not original software) and now i have heard that there is a new version of software (2.3 or something like that) for htc wildfire but my phone doesn't recognize it automaticly
I want to know is it because of rooted versions of software i have on mobile,
and how can i put back old software on phone so that the mobile phone automatically detects and installs new original software
You will have to install stock ROM, pick the one for you right here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1275680
Just be aware that you are going to stock ROM. So possible extra's from the custom ROM you are about to lose.
There is no official version of Android 2.3 Gingerbread for Wildfire. So there's no point going back to stock. AFAIK, the only Gingerbread ROMs for Wildfire are CyanogenMod and it's variants which you can find in the Wildfire Android Development section in XDA. CyanogenMod brings the latest Android version to Wildfire (2.3.7). It's an awesome ROM, if you're willing to give up some of the eye candy and features of HTC Sense (nothing you'll miss in the long run though). Make a backup and try it out.
where can i finde that CyanogenMod and how can i instal it

Download stable mod. It's meant for regular use. The others are meant for development.
Download ROM zip>copy to SD Card>Open ROM manager >Install zip>Select ROM zip>Tick all 3 wipe options>flash (backup your current ROM if you want)

I **** something up...
i have instal everything and i now have CyanogenMod and software version is 2.3.7 but i have problem with sim card every 30 sec I have to enter a PIN i don't have market and much other things
generally i don't like it and i would like to have what I had before
Can anyone help me please
Sorry, I forgot to mention that when you were installing CyanogenMod through ROM Manager, it would've asked you if you want to install Google Apps (gapps) too. That's necessary for Market, Gmail and all the other Google apps. Flash this zip now to get those - http://cmw.22aaf3.com/gapps/gapps-gb-20110828-signed.zip
In my opinion, this is the best, up to date ROM you can have for Wildfire. It doesn't look as flashy as a Sense ROM but it works excellently. Try it for sometime. If you really want to go back to the previous ROM you had, you can do that through ROM Manager>Manage and Restore Backups>[Select backup which shows]. This is only if you selected 'Backup my current ROM' before flashing CyanogenMod. If you didn't backup your old ROM then you would have to redownload it's zip and reinstall it all over again.
yes i forgot to do backup
do you now where can i find that zip for sense htc
and if it is not to big deal could you du step by step how to get back htc sense
ROM - http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=978197
You can find flashing instructions and anything else you want if you search. There are already detailed step by step instructions. You should search before asking so many questions.

This version of Liberated 2.2.2 should work in CWM 5 --> http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=970272
Thanks a lot drumist!
That ROM does not include WiFi hotspot or tethering, am I right? It would still be nice to be able to downgrade so we can reinstall FR008?

It supports both. I don't think there is anything in FR008 that is missing from Liberated 2.2.2, and Liberated 2.2.2 is based on a slightly newer version of Android.
That said, it's definitely possible and easy to downgrade your CWM version.

That Liberated 2.2.2 also seems to have the "AT&T" in the notification area still, and issues with Bluetooth?
