Firstly I love this dock.
I use SwiftKey as my default keyboard, and it works just fine withthe dock.
However, the each time I use my tablet and dock after the screen has been off for a while, but I am constantly prompted to change my chosen keyboard back to the stock asus one.
Despite clicking "don't show this again", and it seems that it will only comply with my request to not show again If I change the keyboard.
Any way to stop This?
go to software update and check for updates, Asus just added the ability to turn that off.

Seems if it even has the "don't show this again" your rom should be based on or have the last update included in it. Check with the Dev.

LOL..... the keyboard prompt thing is a minor annoyance.... offset by the awesomeness that is within the custom ROM and overlooked kernel.

Its just the nature of the beast when running non stock ROMs. Just gonna have to wait for Dev to update their rom then.
Im assuming since you are trying to get rid of the prompt you are not using the stock keyboard and that you are rooted by the custom rom. If the rom doesnt have the option you can use titanium backup and freeze the keyboard or delete it altogether

Yes, I I'm using swifttype and custom ROM/kernel.
I did not think about using titanium pro to freeze the stock keyboard.... I'll take a look at that.

Hey Guys, just after the release of my old ROM, this is a new ROM which is based on Froyo(2.2). I used the Cyanogenmod rom as base and i havent changed a lots except for some minor changes and few additions. The followings features are included:
Features
======
Stock Android UI
Busy-box
Rooted
SuperUser
NANO Editor
As Stable as CM
New Boot Animation
Froyo (2.2.1)
myTouch Music
New Android Market (Check Screenshots)
New Gingerbread Stock Keyboard (Check Screenshot)
Both Launcher Pro And Stock Launcher Included
Some Other Stuff
Removed Stuff
==========
Torchlight From CM
FileManager From cm (Get something from market if you need, that filemanager really bugged me so decided to remove, try ES File Manager, it rocks)
CM Boot Animation
Some other crapware
As this mod is derived from CM, most of the things (I think all) work properly, including wifi, bluetooth and everything else. If anyone finds any bugs or something wrong with the rom, please post it below.
How to install
=========
First root your phone using this method or this method.
Then put the zip file in your sd card and go to clockwork recovery. Then just install the zip file as you would do with every other rom.
If you dont get what i am saying, check this.
This rom asks you which launcher to use in the first boot, check the "Make Default" button and select the launcher of your choice, either launcherpro or default stock froyo launcher. I recomment launcherpro as it is really smooth and has no lags at all (i am using the same). And BTW, if you plan on using stock launcher and no longer want launcherpro on ur system, simply go to manage apps in settings and remove launcherpro as usual (yes, you can remove it). I havent dared to remove the awesome cyanogenmod settings menu because of its cool features and lots of additional functionalities. And the cyanogenmod wallpapers are intact as well.
How to make it look like the one in screenshot
==============================
First choose launcherpro at first boot and make it default.
then go to launcherpro settings (press menu on launcher and choose preferences) and appearance and change the dock's look to froyo wide
Then go back to launcher and long press the screen, and choose wallpaper, and go to cyanogenmod wallpapers and choose the wallpaper as shown in the screenshot.
Then arrange the icons in the same way and you are ready to go.
Enjoy Gingerbread Keyboard And The New Android Market With Lots Of Improvements.
Please let me know if something does not work. THanks
Update 12/20/2010: New Update Coming Very Soon! With WiFi And Tethering Working + More Features And More Stuff
[I am not an android developer,just a simple guy [and a bit of java programmer] ]
I dont think Tmobile is going to give us Froyo within this Dec 15th as rumored by a lots of sites. But for now, lets stay happy with this rom and lets hope they will send the updates soon.
Download ROM
P.S. I can live without negative feedback. (<--Copied it from someone )
can i use headset control on this rom????????????????
OMG, i love this.
but the removal of some apps doesn't appeal to me.
Like file manager, Rom Manager, And the ability to wifi tether is gone.
I was able to wifi tether in the latest versions of CM, but it totally rids it of it in this rom.
Either than that, awesome rom.
Love the boot animation, keyboard, launcher. Keep up the good work. Hope to see more ROMs from you soon!

Wifi works - try reflashing it. Did you do a factory reset before flashing this rom? At minimum, clear your cache.
Using the headphones that came with this phone only works on the stock rom since it was a proprietary thing T Mobile did - why do people keep nagging about this issue?
Wifi tether isn't built into a rom. It a function but must be accesed by an .apk file. Download the latest wifi tether apk (2.0.5 rc1) and install it. BAM! wifi tethering in the palm of your hand.

There's a good Tethering apk in this forum somewhere. You might need to go back a few pages, but you'll find it. :]
ALSO, yo OP, could you please push the Torchlight back onto the ROM in a future release? Torch is always fantastic...
I came across this app at the market that was just put up today called DroidLu.
This app will allow you to watch Hulu on our SGT 10.1 without needing any flash hack! It costs 99 cents I would have paid more for this since it made it possible for me to watch Hulu! Now 3.2 has come to our tablet previous hacks don't work.
I can confirm it works!
Currently on Tsk650 V5 GT-P7510
Note that Hulu only works when you run it through Droidlu app. And make sure that you have latest flash player 11

Thanks for the heads up!
It's barely an app. It's very difficult to scroll on the progress bar, very difficult to adjust the volume. The worst part is that the return button doesn't take you to the previous page. So you have to start all over again when you click on the wrong button. If you hit the lock button, you also have to start all over again after unlocking. So, if you want to want the show from beginning to end without interruption, without any misclicks, without jumping forward or adjusting volume, this is the app you want.

Has anyone gotten this app to work on a 3.2 ROM? I've tried it on overcome 2.0 and Task 5.0, 5.1, and 5.2 with no luck. When the video starts to load it just closes.
Any one else?
You can get hulu to work using the old method. You just have to remove flash, copy the old .so to /data/data/com.adobe.flashplayer, reinstall flash from the market, then use a hex editor to change the plugin variable AND to WIN. I am running galaxy task 5.3 and I just watched Castle without any problems.

My experience today:
Search the market for "DroidLu" and it will bring up an app called Flash Video Browser by Dan Lockard for just under a buck. I just found out about it on droidforum, installed it on my Samsung Galaxy Tab 10.1 and it works! I'm watching Modern Family right now!

Yep, just installed and it works perfectly. I'll give his FlashBrowser a try in a sec, because this is definitely worth $0.99!
EDIT: Spoke too soon. FlashBrowser shows as not compatible with my Verizon 4G LTE tab. I'll stick with the old DroidLu APK (linked above, working) and see if there's another way to donate to him.
So, I`m having an issue with my stock thunderbolt on latest update, I've been wanting to use a more feature rich browser such as dolphin, but no matter what I do, such as clear default for stock browser or choose make dolphin default browser in dolphin settings the stock browser always returns to the default browser. Go to manage apps & open the current default browser then tap clear default.
To set a new default tap on something that will need a browser (URL links),
when you get the pop up check "set as default" then tap on the browser app that you want to set as default.
This should work, always has for me, but I don't run stock roms.
If you're saying you've done this and it doesn't work, then I apologize and don't really have another suggestion.

Thanks I've tried this but I don't get the popup. Its weird because normally with any other app that can be set as default when I clear the default the button stays grayed out until I set it by the way you explained, but even after I clear the default if I go back to previous (all applications screen) then back into the app the clear default button can be pressed again like it already set itself as the default again.

You can thank Apple for suing HTC and HTC for not paying Apple to continue to use the features they had before.
The "App Associations" was removed due to the recent legal shenanigans.
So, either go back to the previous official build, or root and throw a custom rom on there.
Those are your choices for now it seems.
Possible workaround if you plan to keep the updated stock rom.

Yeah, the whole thing just stinks!
Here is something else you may try, but I do not know for sure if it will work or apply to the latest Thunderbolt stock rom or not.
in build.prop you will have this line
ro.da1.enable=true
change to
ro.da1.enable=false
then add just below that this line
ro.da1.method=false
This method restores the feature on some roms/devices

I don't have root so therefore I don't believe this is an option for me, thanks though.
I must say I am very disappointed with HTC's move in the current update, I didn't see any mention of this change, frankly it ticks me off this has been a native feature of android for quite sometime and for HTC to block it makes me loose respect for them and I do believe this will probably be my last device from them, I understand it is in response to Apple, but Android manufactures need to take a stand against all this nonsense from Apple, I know it goes both ways, but this hurting the customer in the end, but then again what company really truely cares, only thing that matters is the bottom line.
Edit: update: Just found out that HTC added option under Settings > Applications > App associations, which allows you to switch what app launched when you click on a url link or whatever else, so cheers!
All android devices had to remove this aspect of the browser. If you think you'll pick up a Samsung and it's going to work that way it won't. They sued Google. Not HTC. All the phone manufacturers were included because they run android.

[Q] How to remove annoying message "clear default app settings by going to settings"
Hello guys
Since JB on SGS3, my phone KEEPS asking me to set defaults for the same things, really bloody annoying.
"Clear defaults
Clear default app settings by going to settings > applications manager > all"
An utter pain in the arse. Anyone found a way to make Touchwiz remember defaults or to stop giving this newbie bollocks message?
I'd love some brainy hacker to make it gooo away!

Titanium -> backup/restore -> TouchWiz -> freeze
Make sure you have a proper launcher already loaded, like ADW/Nova etc.

NOPE!
after a reboot it is back to square one, the message comes up again.
there has got to be a way to make the system remember that stuff, surely?!
EDIT
not quite square one... it seems files I have opened before using a specific app will continue to work with that app automatically, but if I, for example, open a pdf document in Maildriod and tell it to open with Adobe reader, then click on the same PDF in the GMail app, it will ask me again... so it seems to be based on the app it is coming FROM and not the type of link/file you are clicking on. Pretty daft IMO.

No, Samsung apps are independent of TouchWiz and will work with any launcher.
The only repeating request for default I've experienced is when I left TouchWiz in after I'd added ADW - it came up after each boot to ask which launcher I wanted and then ignored the 'always' bit. After I frozen TouchWiz it's all working as expected, opening each file type responds with the app I've chosen to use with it (from the launcher).
I just tried the exact test you describe, opening a .pdf in two apps. After I'd set the option from each app it remembers the setting - but it just doesn't appear to be a system wide setting, like it would be in Windows.
If it keeps asking the same question from the same app then you may have a problem, otherwise I think it's just the way JB works.

I will check, though my nexus 10 tablet NEVER has a message telling me that I can clear default app settings... so it's not a google thing but a samsung one.
I will see over a week or so if it does remember, though i guess with each rom update I have to enter all the bloody defaults again... one of the down sides of customising rom's frequently.
cheers
Mark.

why did you root if you didn't know what you needed it for?
Hi all,
Trying to install an apk each time my prime boots because it keeps getting removed each boot. Do you guys have any idea how to do this? I looked into init scripts and it looks like that's specifically for CPU/governor/etc tweaks.
I'm trying to install the ICS google keyboard on my prime (I'm on androwook 2.11) but I can't put it into /system/apps because it doesn't work (I get an error: app android keyboard is not responding...or something like that). However, the solution I found is to install the apk over the broken /system/apps/ install. That works, but each time I boot, I have to reinstall for some reason. I don't mind this, but I would love if I could find a way to do this automatically, or if I could make it run without an error in /system/apps.
Ideas?
Thanks!
I also use Androwook 2.11 now and have no problem at all with it.
Did you activate the ASUS keyboard in settings? Cause it shouldn't even use the Google one when a dock is connected.
One try is to flash Androwook new. Maybe that helps.

I'm not sure I follow...asus is enabled but not selected as my keyboard. What do you mean? I also had the same issue on the stock rom.
