Hey people,
I just dun know but I'm turning really mad.
I just sold off my Galaxy S2 to buy the TAB 10.1.
Now this tab ain't playing FULL HD Songs downloaded from Youtube in MP4 format.
Is this happening with all of you TAB Consumers or just me due to some issue :S
Please help me :$

1) It's a 720p display
2) High-res/high-bitrate video needs to be H.264 baseline profile. Main/high profile video is subject to some annoying bitrate restrictions.

Hi,
on my galaxy tab 10.1v I can not play videos ( mp4,mkv or divx..) corectly. I mean it plays but it freezes for a second and then play on and freezes again... I tried many video players; even mobo player, but it's the same with all. But mp3 plays ok. Tab runs on Honeycomb 3.0.1
maybe with update on 3.1 will be better? Please any suggestions?
Thanks!

What H.264 variant is used in the MP4s? Our devices have issues with high and main profiles. Baseline profile H.264 is solid.
Is variable, but on samsung galaxy s and galaxy s 2 player which is included plays perfectly all formats even full hd ( mkv - music videos ). So why is on galaxy tab dificult to play videos smootly?

Simple. Samsung's GPU that is paired with Hummingbird processors is optimized for media and supports a lot of H.264 features not supported by any other mobile GPU. Nvidia's Tegra GPU is optimized for 3D and not as much for media.
Ok, I solve problem now with Handbrake. Full hd videos ( 1920x1080) convert to 1280x790 without losing quality and now plays just fine.
Yea, Tegra sucks at media play back, course IMO Nvidia sucks in general with there Shady business practices.
But Baseline with 2 Channel AAC Audio is the way to go, won't have any video play back problems that way.

Full HD from youtube in mp4 work fine for me with the touchwiz stock player, once out of five I'll need to encode it.
Sent from my galaxy tab 10.1
I tried streaming a couple 1080p streams from justin.tv. The first stream the video cut out after one second. On a second stream both sound and video worked, but very slowly (like 1-2fps).
Also my wi-fi cuts out or locks up entirely, I get com.process.samsung.blah force closes, and twice I've come home to find it powered off even though it had full battery. Considering returning it.
I've been having this problem since day 1 when I got it.
I have no idea why but my Samsung Galaxy Tab 10.1 doesn't seem to play any .mp4 videos I loaded onto my tab at all. It does fine with videos recorded on the tab itself though. The videos can be played using MoboPlayer as well. However the video is slow and hence the sound will be played faster than the video itself. Anybody is experiencing the same problem?
You'll need to install a 3rd party video player from the Market, daft isn't it!
download diceplayer or MX Video...(the latter you'll need to change one of the settings to ensure no time lag).
I've not had a problem with either player. You can purchase a trial version before you buy. It was frankly worth the £4 as I can just plug and play with these versions and it's played every format thrown at it without having to convert (which for me was the reason to buy the tab over ipad)
Hi guys,
I'm confused. Haw can such a powerful and sophisticated device to have problem playing mp4 1080p videos. I was surprised when downloaded might videos from galaxy s2 to tab 10.1 and nothing happened when trying to watch them
i think u will need to download dice player... there's a certain profile.. if im not mistaken high profile that our tabs can't play but Sgs2 can play.
the resuslts are far better then any other player but unfortunately the video still is not smooth and crisp as it should be.
Hi all,
I am using MX player to watch videos and it seems to lag with some MKV files. There is no lag on avi/mp4 files, and sometimes even some mkv's work. Recently though I am unable to play any MKVs without lag. I'm unsure if this is how the system works, but I am unable to use the HW/HW+ decoder on any MKV files.
Today I flashed a custom rom onto my galaxy tab 2 and tried overclocking, but I haven't noticed any difference. ( I may be doing something wrong). It seems that I have the same issue with other players too.
If someone could help me out, that would be great. I'm not sure if I need a settings change, new player, different overclock values, etc. Hopefully it's possible to watch my MKV files
Edit: If someone could also suggest if there is a certain rom that helps too I'd appreciate it.

I don't know, but i could suggest you to post this in the right section, this is for the galaxy tab 10.1 (gt-p75xx) not the tab 2 10.1 (gt-p51xx) lol
