I'm James or Knight Wolf as I'm know on XDA and other forums..
I want to provide a place where all of us from EOD and Destroyer and the rest of EVO 4G can hang..
I am a member of Alpa Team from EOD and have been a problem solver , helper , DAD , and Manager for many years now (I'm34)
I love UOT kitchen and wish there was one for sense 3.0 themes.

I am sure most of evo 4G team will develop . Kind of a "coming soon" of all stars in my opinion.
I really want a 3D photo bucket myself. As well as CM7 and other "goodies"

Well I'm working on a Monster Energy theme and it's the first them I've ever done. I could really use some help if anyone would be up to it. All help would be greatly appreciated.

Great thread! The only thing I would like to see is some kind of control for the capacitive button brightness. I prefer the Brightness widget with 3 settings. So if HTC doesn't come through with a fix maybe someone here could.
Actually... I'm not really doing a theme... More of a sense 3.0 skin. I have never done a theme and figured starting with a sense skin would be easier. If anyone has any tips/advice for a beginner at sense skins, please feel free to share.

Here is what I've found so far that "might" help as a guide...

1.) Install APKTOOL there are plenty of sites on how to do this so I’m not going to get into it.
2.) Decompile the base APK “apktool d Base.Theme.v1.apk”
3.) Open AndroidManifest.xml with NOTEPAD ++ do not, DO NOT use windows note pad for this
4.) At the end of Line #2 change EVOZoneBlue to whatever you want to call your skin save that and close it
5.) Got to /assets/ rename EVOZoneBlue to whatever you change it to in #4 only the last part. You will notice that my file name is only EVOZoneBlue its not com.htc.skin.EVOZoneBlue
6.) Now go to /res/values open “strings.xml” with NOTEPAD++ edit Line #4 to the name of your Skin save and close.
7.) Adjust/replace PNG files as you wish in /res/drawable-hdpi & drawable-land-hdpi
8.) Now recompile what you have “apktool b base.theme.v1” it should compile
9.) Open m10 Editor open your APK /apktool/base.theme.v1/dist/
10.) Edit m10s files I generally open the entire folder in explorer view. Once an icon appears on the right, right click it and open in explorer view. It’s a lot easier than picking the files one at a time. Make sure you’ve got everything because you won’t want to open this back up unless it’s absolutely necessary.
11.) Save m10
12.) To sign APKs I generally used APK Manager
13.) Copy your APK to / place-apk-here-to-batch-optimize
14.) Run Script type 16
15.) Place your APK in /place-apk-here-to-batch-optimize
16.) Run Script type 15
17.) Copy APK to device and install

I am not a good themer, but I am learning. The key to the 3.0 skins from what I can tell is decompiling the m10 files which I do not think apktool does. Look at this thread here. I have changed the lockscreen ring and some of the colors on the rosie using this so far, but I got overcome by events this week. Look at it and let me know I will be working a little this weekend and more during the week on putting together what I find. I am horrible at photoshop and other tools, but I guess I have to learn sometime.

Edit: I guess APK tool does do m10, but try this one to they both work. I use apk tool for my OG Evo for messing with apps and works great.

I recently download an supposed HTC Camera app, that contains Panoramic and other features, the funny story here is that if this is really a HTC Camera APK it is supposed to replace the current one(right?) And it didn't replace the file, So i have 2 Camera APK(although is buggy as hell, but you guys can make it perfect)
So i want you guys to study this, if it is useful to for example port a HTC Keyboard with arrows and don't have to replace the current one.

Hey Rocky. Nice to see you've found my hack, "v3.tt"
I am not exactly 100% sure what you are saying...so please clarify.
For those of you who are interested, here is the link to where the original edited camera apk can be found.

Rocky, if you read my OP from that link, I detailed exactly what I did to make the hack work as advertised. It is not a "supposed HTC Camera app", it is the "HTC Camera app".
What I did was edit all the smali and all instances of the identity of the apk in the xml (keep in mind, there is a much easier way to do what I did for the camera apk, but that wouldn't have been nearly as fun).
Using this method, it is very possible to install multiple instances of the "same" app, just different versions, so that one does not have to replace the other.
After learning that the Evo 3d has no arrows (thanks misfit), I thought to myself maybe I could do the same thing. This was earlier last night. At least until there is Root anyways. Then, one could potentially install the HTC_IME over itself, although with a different identity.
Something to think about, if you find a mod or apk, perhaps link to the thread you found it. Maybe, just maybe, the OP of that thread has all the information necessary. ;-)
edit. I should note that I did not come up with the apk or the idea of the apk. That is HTC. Also, I was not the first to find the Sense 3.0 camera. That was francios. All I did was mentioned renamed the identity of the apk.

Hi Tommy didn't know that was your app, I did a Google search and downloads, but it is nice that you saw this post, now we can request you the Keyboard haha
With your method we can use the original 3VO Keyboard and the one with arrows, without having to replace them.
Also is coming to my mind that we could take some skin with trasnparencie and ported over here with that method, or for that we have to port the Rosie?

So I installed the modded one that doesn't over ride the original HTC Evo 3D camera but it's always in 3D mode and is type buggy!! This is the camera from the HTC Sensation or some other HTC phone?

This is my first real attempt at themeing and i wanted to start out with the HTC keyboard. Its a simple yet elegant looking theme that you can flash using metamorph.

OrangeSpark Keyboard APK!
Rename the OrangeSpark Apk file to HTC_IME.apk and replace the one in /system/app then change permissions to rw-r-r
Metamorph
Updated with a few fixes to v1.5!
Download Orangespark Keyboard
Download Darkspark Keyboard (gloss black themed)
Metamorph Instructions
1) download metamorph from the market (its made by stericson, a mod and dev on xda)
2) move the zip to either Androidthemes folder on your sd or anywhere else but remember where you put it
3) start the app and let it run the checks
4) choose unzip/extract new theme
5) point to the location of the zip
6) let it extract the file
7) hit apply all!
8) reboot

it works, but longpress on a letter results in fc.... the landscape typing doesnt show what im typing....

No I meant that you didn't need to use metamorphs to theme it. I'm sorry I haven't looked at what your keyboard does that gimpsta doesn't. Have been busy with army bs lol.

Looks good! You should port it... The amaze doesnt have many themers... I just started Sense... We could use a long standing theme for sure... =)
I say port it. I'd rock it. Although, I'm really diggin the work Alexia did with Clarity and honestly can't wait to see what she comes up with next.
I can tell you guys the themes for Amaze wont be as good as with other phones because for now we cant edit the fusion.apk
that file holds alot of images that were edited in thoes themes you guys want ported. Until they come up with a way to edit the new M10 files that are in the fusion.apk then are themes are going to be limited.
I have done a few themes in the past but i was waiting to see how things progress here before i started theming for the amaze.

You should be able to use the fusion apk from the sensation for the amaze.. I have and it worked just fine.

Ok Just an update I've ran into a bunch of trubble trying to port the theme......
I got the Fusion file ported to our Amaze but the only problem is some of the icons on the widgets are all messed up like the weather widget and watch widget.
Also runnin into some trubble with the lock screen and lock ring its all due to not being able to edit the m10 files on our rom.
I've tried to port the lock screen files from the sensation to the Amaze but with no luck so far.
I'm going to keep working on it over the weekend and see what I can come up with for you guys please be patient with me.

Ok just an update this is taking alot more work than expected but I'm making some progress I've fixed the lock screen the shortcuts and lock ring look and work properly.
The weather widget is fixed and looks right now
The watch widget is fixed and looks right.
I still have to fix the music midget and do some more picture edits to get it to look right.

Per ContraDude: Replace Sprint_bootanimation.zip in /system/customize/resource/ to test it. the 15 in the desc.txt is the number of frames per second so if you'd like it higher, make the number higher and vice versa (Tested and works nicely/need flashable.zip)

To be honest, SRS and Equalizer from the market makes it sound really good already, and I don't seem to remember beats being that much better.

Per ContraDude: Replace Sprint_bootanimation.zip in /system/customize/resource/ to test it. the 15 in the desc.txt is the number of frames per second so if you'd like it higher, make the number higher and vice versa (Tested and works nicely/need flashable.zip)

Takes a lot more than steel has listed in the thread, the option will be there but no effect, will be looking at adding the full enhancements to a future build

Is this the right place to request a full spectrum of colours for the pen colour palette, when you go to the screen shot or notes? Is the pen sdk enough to do that, or does it need the full source code of the pen part of Flyer's HTC Sense?

These are a multitude of firsts for me. My first Dialer, my first IME, my first flashable.zips, my first modified skin (FYI, the skin is RED, i wouldnt recommend using it with the blue apps) AND my first .xml work!! I have flashed them all several times and they do indeed work. You may find something off or something you don't like, please post all comments, questions or issues here, NOT in the Venom 4G Rom thread, there is no need to clutter that thread up even more.

The zips need to be flashed, the BrushedChaos Skin can just be installed like a normal app, it will over write the original BrushedChaos skin if it is installed though

blues nice, ive always been a fan for sure of both blue and badssed!! they were all i rocked on the og evo,... and riptides stuff before he became part of badseed.

I tried to search on here and on Google as to what the BrushedChaos skin is but this thread is the only place I find it mentioned. Unfortunately I don't know what I'm looking for in the pictures and there's no links to more info. Is it required to use the dialer?

That skin isnt in the market i have pics in the superlte rom thread 4th or 6th post and no its a skin to complete the look if the theme

Updated OP with link to the BrushedChaos skin to eliminate some confusion. Sorry. Also noticed a issue in the blue Dialer, that i will fix as soon as possible. When answering a phone call, the answer and decline button are identical. Sorry

Revised version up. Fixed the "answer/decline" buttons being identical. I f you didn't notice, then I guess ya don't need the fix. lol. If ya did notice and didn't like it, re download the file. I'm not posting a new version, same file name, just revised. SS posted of the fix. Only updated the Blue files, Red did not suffer the issue. If anyone doesnt care for anything, please let me know and I will try to fix it. thanks.

Is there any way you can make the a color change to the selection box that appears when your on a call, the one that allows you to look at the contact card of the person your calling. If you could possibly make that match the same color as your dialer that would be smooth IMO. If its possible I would greatly appreciate it. Thanks for the mod.

1. I'm not sure what ya mean? Screen shot perhaps to illustrate?
2. I bricked my phone 3 days ago, I got a replacement, but I'm currently stock and trying to track down a 1.12 hboot instead of the one I got.
3. I believe ssojyetti is supposed to be doing some ports of this, maybe in my absence he would be so kind as to help with that request??

Wow! You really want it huh! Welllll, I guess I can try to throw something together tonight, but no guarantee it'll work since I can't test it. I'm currently un-rooted due to a bricked device being replaced.
So... I guess if you know adb well enough to push the stock one back if it fails, I can put something together.
As soon as i am all back up and flashing, ill get somthin full proof for sure.
AND....since you were the first to request it... Did ya want the blue or red so I can do it first?

sullivan7221 can you please make a dialer with no blue, just mostly red like the first one. The little blue dude during calls bothers me, lol..... if you dont mind.
