Sync Error - HTC Flyer, EVO View 4G

I downloaded and installed the lastest version of htc sync that is listed for my View. I wanted to sync my email with the email account that I set up on the View. The install went fine with no problems. I connected my view and selected the Sync option. Then the tablet displays "Finding HTC sync on your pc". But it never finds it. I have it running on my pc and it says no device connected. After a minute or so I get an error on my View that says it was unable to find htc sync on my pc. The sync software 3.0.5557. I am running windows 7 home premium x64 on my pc.

I removed the software and rebooted and installed again and this time it picked up the view. But it will not sync the email. Only the calendar and contacts from my outlook will sync. I guess you have to have an exchange account to sync the mail. For some reason I thought on the older phones I was able to sync the email.

Android-Sync and MiniPro

Hi All,
I am looking for an application that allow me to sync Outlook
with X10 Mini (contacts and Calendar).
I found android-sync but it sync the contacts only.
It is not able to sync the calendar.
Do you have similar problems?
How can I sync phone with outlook?
/Francesco
I use android-sync and this is what I have found out:
- on one computer with Windows Vista and Outlook connected to an Exchange server, it can sync contacts only;
- on another computer with Windows 7 and Outlook using only local folders, it can sync contacts and calendar.
However there is no option to choose what range of dates to use in the sync, it doesn't sync recurring events, tasks or anything else.
I have tried to contact the developer using the email address reported on his website to discuss a couple of bugs but he has not replied to my message at all. On top of all this he also let the application expire at the end of August and uploaded a new version only a few days later so for several days I could not sync at all as I was getting an error message asking to download a new version that didn't exist.
To be honest I think he has lost interest in developing the application. It's a pity because there is basically no alternative. The fact that SonyEricsson has not included any way to perform local synchronisation with this phone is shameful.
Ciao.
Has anyone solved the sync problem?
I use an Outlook plugin called gSyncIt. Cost $15 but worth every penny.
I have 2 calendars and 2 sets of contacts in Outlook, personal and work related. On my google account I simply created 2 new calendars and this program syncs the Outlook calendar of my choice to the Google calendar of my choice.
Once it's on my Google account Android sync gets it to my phone no problems.
It'll also sync contacts/tasks etc
Perfect for me - it means I can use Jorte on my mobile to view my personal Outlook, my shared office calendar and all my shared google calendars at the same time.

But the whole idea was to sync in a way that avoids giving your soul away to the devil. If there is ONE company in the world that I don't trust, that company is Google. Local synchronisation keeps your data to you. That's why it is so important to have Android-Sync or some other workable alternative...
My troubles with Android-Sync continue! Suddenly my phone does not connect anymore! On the phone I get the message that Android-Sync is connect but on my pc the Android-Sync interface behaves as if there is no phone connected. I haven't installed or changed anything on either phone or PC, abd.exe is running and the Windows device manager doesn't report any problems.
I am really losing patience with SonyEricsson and the lack of local synch. I might stick to Android in the future but HTC supports local synchronisation so I will be looking at other phone manufacturers.
what's the outcome? is there a way for a local sync?
I'm a real newbie concerning android but i found in the market this free program called 'My Phone Explorer' and it syncs all my outlook contacts and calender entries without a problem either through wifi or usb cable.
android sync
Just to say I've tried today android sync to synchronize contacts and calendar from my corporate outlook (did not want to sync with google for obvious reasons..).
And it works like a charm !
Here's the link : http://www.android-sync.com/ (it's free)
Connect your mini with USB debug ON.

[Q] Problems with Sync (Outlook IMAP)

Hey,
My situation:
I used outlook account (google) on my HD2.
Then I chose ActiveSync to sync my Contacts, Calender and Mail.
ActiveSync makes a "exchange" (Google has sort of) and the sync with my PC worked.
--> I could sync my mails, contacts and calender with google.
I dont used outlook for this (get the normal web access of google mail.
What I want
I want to sync my Contacts, Mails and Calendar with Outlook on my PC
I tried it at home (Win7, Office2010 32bit, WMDC) and it worked so far that I can sync calendar as well as Contacts (that was the easy part)
What I want and is not working yet:
Sync Emails (get an error message that the sync is not complete in WMDC)
My Outlook (PC):
I have 3 IMAP Accounts (google and 2 others)
No Outlook "configured" on HD2 at the moment (as I end the exchange sync with google, my account on hd2 was deleted)
Question:
Is it possible to sync my IMAP Accounts with the HD2 (It would be okay, if only one account is working)
My standard pst (PC) contains no emails because I only have IMAP and no POP and for IMAP Outlook does not use the standard inbox.
Hm... Shouldn't be a unknown problem should it be? Anyone got this working?
You should just set up the accounts on the phone and separately on the PC.
I can't really comment on WMDC, but with ActiveSync between the phone and the computer I wouldn't let it sync anything you are syncing via IMAP. Any changes you make on the PC will be updated to the net and the next time the phone syncs it will update from the net (and visa versa).
I have an Exchange account on my phone and the same on my work PC. When they are plugged together, the only thing that is synced is favourites.

Outlook Sync

Does anyone know of a good and reliable way to sync with Outlook. I have a standalone Outlook setup for work, no Exachange or ActiveSync. HTC Sync doesn't even see this phone and the HTC Sync Manager the phone links to isn't available yet.
I have tried Android Sync Manager but that program is worthless. I can't get a status of the sync and when it finally stops nothing has been transfered to the phone.
Thanks

[Q] Exchange 2003 SP2 and Evo 4g LTE not syncing

Anyone else having issues with getting this phone (particularly this version of sense) to sync with Exchange 2003 SP2 (The exchange client is listed as compatible with Exchange 2003 SP2 or later on page 91 of the product manual)?
-I have many other HTC devices (Hero, Evo 4G) synced to this particular server without any problems
-Server is fully updated with proper certificates
Anytime I try and get 4g LTE phone to connect to exchange and sync contact, e-mail, tasks, and calendar. It seems to connect okay, but does not actually pull down any information (The only exception being it actually pulls the folder lists for e-mail, but doesn't actually download any e-mail). So it will try and sync everything and even gives time/dates for a completed sync, but i don't get any calendar entries, e-mail inbox is empty, no tasks show up, and no contacts show up.
-I can however send out e-mail messages, and put in new calendar entries, but they do not show up on the phone
-I have tried removing the account and re-adding
-I have tried hard resetting then re-adding
all to no avail
-All other services work fine (gmail, facebook, etc...)
-I have even tried this on a separate Evo 4G LTE with the same results.
Further info
I should also add that I tested the exchange active sync component of the server with the testexchangeconnectivity.com tool and everything passed...
Activesync fails for HTC EVO LTE on Sprint
Set Activesync. Worked great for about a week. Now all I get is "Sync is experiencing problems. It will be back shortly." -- get this for over a week now. Tried many incantations to resolve -- no joy. I don't know Server version -- its' Office 365.
Same calendar issues
Using viper rom
Using zimbra server
Calendar works fine on s3 and old evo

[Q] Only 1 outlook calender

I have a Galaxy S3 and until now have been using Google calendars - 1 personal and 1 shared (with 1 other person) - and have now exported all my entries onto Outlook.
I've added my Active Sync account onto my phone and almost everything has synced correctly.
The only thing that hasn't is BOTH of my calenders. My main personal calender has synced but I can't find anyway of getting the shared calender on there.
The tasks are syncing correctly.
Could some one please advise what I'm doing wrong?
why not sync the device directly to google?
if you work on your pc only with OL - just sync your google acount and OL via google calendar sync in your PC.

I'm not looking to use the Google calenders anymore, the reason is because I've just upgraded to Windows 8 on my home PC and it will only sync the main calender from Google.
I now need to get my phone syncing with the OL calenders so that all 3 places (phone, PC and web) are all reading the same information.
you don't have to create\edit events on the "google.com/calendar" domain, just get your pc syncing with it.
i use win7 so i can't tell for sure if the google calendar sync work on win8, but you can try - i don't see a reason it wouldn't work.
from what i recall when i had my exchange client on my phone it would only sync the main calendar. so you solution should be on the google side.

The problem I'm having is that Windows 8 will ONLY sync the main Google calender. I would happily love to use the Google calendars, but I can only see one of them in Windows 8.
I can't believe how inflexible both systems are - only being able to view 1 calender from the other service.
sorry if i'm repeating myself but have you tried to install "google calendar sync" in your pc ?
