So not sure if this has been discussed previously but it would definitely help back up the need for improvement in the antenna or network. This app basically pings the cellphone towers for data and reports it, you can read more on the link below.

Could somebody post this question on the app home page, I don't wanna sign up for yet another site lol...
Will the fact that I'm using a US Cellular PRL on a Spring phone screw with the results?

nice app thanks bro
just so you guys know this app is collecting our IMEI and ESNs (unique device id) i just started a thread on their forum asking them why.
edit: they changed the app so they no longer store our IMEI or ESN and added some security to the app. i am impressed by their response and just installed the app.
I figure both to distinguish what device and what network

Good info.
Also, be prepared for your battery life to decrease. These apps/services have been around for a while, and most users complaints are that the apps constantly running in the background kills their battery because it doesn't allow the phone to sleep properly.
So is this app basically like Sensorly?

I took the top spot in one of the areas I live in but where u i live Verizon beats all by a big margin

Well battery is debatable given you adjust the interval.

I used qpst to change my carrier banner and it screws it up that's what the app uses to find what carrier u are on

I'm sure it has been brought up or asked. But we are a combined forum now. A bigger think tank. Anybody know what it would take to remove the carriers ability to throttle us?
Thoughts?
Comments?
Questions?

When I look through root exporter I see a throttle file under data system throttle. Any ideas?

this has not been possible for the past few generations of Galaxy phones. The files are pushed from t-mobile servers now, so they can't be modded or deleted.
Get a good wifi linking app and utilize as much open wifi as you can and don't waist bandwidth uploading or downloading massive amounts of data when off of wifi when possible.
What happened to that?

*pokes it with a stick* he's dead, Jim
Lol....that made my day "poking with a stick...." On a more serious note, HD voice is part of network vision updates/upgrades currently being rolled out and you also need to have a phone capable of HDvoice (ie: EVO LTE) plus prolly a couple others possibly. So its kinda active but requires a phone and the network actively broadcasting the signal between callers. Hope that makes sense and helped explain the quietness about the feature.

Is it possible to use WiFi to make a call on evo 4g lte? I was able to do this on my my touch 4g while I was using t mobile. Thanks in advance for anyone that can answer this
Sent from my EVO using xda app-developers app
Different apps allow it through sip on evdo/4g/wifi, easy setup so far is google voice and I want to say $10 app that sets everything. The name was change awhile back and I don't remember what it is now
Edit: its called Groove IP and its now offered as lite and full for 4.99

When did this change? Last year when I was on business travel, I always would use Google voice when I didn't have service in my hotel room.
I just tried it, and it did not work on WiFi

Just more bullsh from HTC. First complaint I've ever made about this device. I'm Ann htc fan thru and thru. But that was really handy when I didn't have service.

Well, thanks for the heads up because I'm heading out on another business trip on Monday. I guess I will be downloading this app.

Screen failure
Sent from my EVO using xda app-developers app
Try an app called "touchscreen test" in app store first....verify that your whole screen is detecting touches...of you find an area not responding then you can have a backup to show the store the defective digitizer which then they can repair/replace the phone...will save some hassle...and just to be safe, revert your phone to stock in case they try their "hard reset first" protocol...hope that helps to diagnose your problem.
Edit: just realized OP posted both times and you seemed to have figured it out...well in case someone else reads with same issues I guess

I was considering adding the ONE to my current plan and noticed they charge for navigation now 9.99/ mo. Is that normal? Never added a line before and never been charged before for navigation. This was online BEST BUY for reference and didn't see it mentioned anywhere else.

There should be a box you can untick to not add that option. It should just be their paid app of Sprint Navigation.
Okay. So they are charging for their Sprint specific navigation app and I could continue to use Google Maps as always? The way they write it makes it look like they want to charge for navigation.

Verizon does it too. They want you to pay 10 bucks a month to use their terrible VZ Navigator app, which makes no sense at all when you can use the far superior Google Navigation for free.

Telenav is free, Telenav premium is not.
Thank you all for explaining this. I just got my first smart phone with Sprint at Best Buy, and they asked if I wanted to pay to add GPS to my plan. I said no of course, but didn't understand why I would have to pay to use the GPS from my phone in the first place...

Basically! Bumping this because it seems ppl are still confused by this. You have a choice to add it to your plan outside of the telenav app which is why sprint ask if you want to add it. It's the same as going premium from the app itself..
