[Q] adding video question - Galaxy S II Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hey guys,
I have added 4 movies without converting in usb storage mode, but i am not able to see those movies in video player, I have to go thru "My Files".. usbstorage/movies and play those movies
can anyone help me...

Once you play them through the built-in video player, they'll be added to Video's.

I played the video but still it doesnt get added

Weird When ever I add movie it just show up in videos list.

how do you add movies? can you tell me the process?

I got the solution...
before i have added the video to /sdcard/usbstorage/movies
then i shifted to /sdcard/movies
and it got recognized of its own.....
but what does the folders external_sd and usbstorage do?

The Video 'app' doesn't scan the external usb.

MPEG-4 has many different profiles and levels, some of which may not be compatible with various players.
Here's a guide to start you off on encoding video files that the X10 can handle:
http://www.knowyourcell.com/sony-er...fer_them_to_the_sony_ericsson_xperia_x10.html
Most of that guide is correct.
I use the Handbrake application ( http://handbrake.fr/ ) mentioned in that guide almost exclusively for videos that I want to play on my X10. It's great and it's free.
See if that helps.

moboplayer
Mx video player works with sd card and for streaming videos from your network. You need to add sdcard2 as one of the sources in settings. Hope it helps

So does Mobo, and is far to more customizable.

You can try ES file explorer and tapping on the LAN tab. Then add the server you're trying to play the files from and you can then tap on a file to play and choose to open with moboplayer.
I am using MOBO player. It's working great. Free and easy to configure.

BS player has hardware acceleration and works great on Tablet S. I think it supports SD-cards, but not sure. The .srt subtitles work great though. It also has a function that searches subs for you online. No more searching!

I use a similar setup as you. For my file manager I use HD file explorer for honeycomb and set up my network through the lan connection. Then I play the videos through MX player and music through Mobo. Some videos play better than others depending on the format but for the most part it works well. What I like about HD file manager is you can access everything from your network drive and it easy to setup. I just wish there was a way to create a play list for music files from my NAS without transferring files to my SD card. Any ideas on this?
Try CineXplayer I have had any issues also locates files for u when opening so no need to manually find files. No ads full screen no stuttering videos. Good quality picks up where you leave off in videos if stopped while viewing when opened back up.
Yes mobo player is pretty sweet, free and clean looking a must download if u wanna watch movies n things.
MX player does both (SD card, SRT titles) flawlessly. So impressed I bought the ful version.
no stop in mxplayer?
How can you stop video from playing in Mxvideo?
I do not see any stop button?

just tap the screen and there should appear reverse, pause and forward. just press pause´. There is no actual stop button.
u can change that in the settings actually I believe (i.e. always show controls). Can't imagine why its necessary, you want full screen video normally don't you?
Strange. So when I start a 3 hour video and notice after 5 mins that I have seen it...I need to look it to the end as I can not stop it. I need to try mobo....
Piar The vídeo A nd sub in the folder in self and rename The archive The same name grates

Video playback struggles on pc

I recently noticed that video playback on pc is not smooth
at all. VLC player struggles to play the video and windows
media player plays with a lot of artifacts.
When i watch the playback on Galaxy S3 everything is smooth.
Has anyone experienced something like this?
Is the video located in the internal storage or the SD card, what speed is the SD card, is it connected to the PC in MTP or UMS mode?

Isn't it a problem with your PC then? Nothing to do with S3
looks like ur pc is less powerful than s3 or missing proper codecs
Try KMP player. If it still stutters, I think it is codec-related....

I recorded a 1080p 5 minute video of my son the other day, just tried playing it in VLC and it played flawlessly.

[Q] Media Streaming Question.

Ok here is the problem I am having. Im using my PC in my office as a media server. I am able to connect with my DNA and pull up all my videos with ease. Thing is not all my videos are in .mp4 format majority are in .avi. I am able to see the thumbnails of the videos but when I play them it says cannot be played. So on the side there is an option where you can search for wifi players. Tried that and even though I have video apps like mobo, vlc, and mx video installed. HTC doesn't recognize these options as wifi players. So should I convert these movies to .mp4? Im trying not to because most are HD movies over a gig each.

Clear the defaults for your stock video player and tap on the movie you want while using a file explorer then pick what player you want. The player option is for you to stream from your phone to a device that can hande the format, not an app on your phone.

Hi
I have problems with HD videos (Not 4K because my TV dosen't support it)) recorded with the Z2.
The sound is not in sync with the video and the time marking in the bottom of the screen on the phone jumps forward and backward. Also the video jumps on the TV.
I have a 720P video's videos from another source which plays just fine using throw.
It's also slow to find the TV when searching for paired devices!!
Greetings
David

Yeah you can't throw those videos because of the DRM. I tried it myself too, you'll want to screen mirror instead.
