i downloaded tektrak from samsung apps on my s2 ... ive had a look and its ok but its draining my battery how on earth do you deactivate it / uninstall it ??
ive tried to uninstall and it says it cant
the company is based in usa so its gonna be a while before they answer ...
anyone used it and uninstalled it ???
tektrak is not easy to uninstall because we do not want unauthorized users to be able to simply remove the application from your phone, thus preventing you from securing it. In addition, some features require setting tektrak as an administrator. To remove the application, please go (on your Android device) to the phone's Settings->Location and security->Select device administrator and make sure that the checkbox next to tektrak is unchecked. Then click deactivate. Next, go to Settings->Applications->Manage applications->tektrak and click uninstall.

Troubleshooting Download Issues
Download stuck at “Starting download...”
If your application has stalled at "Starting download", please use the following troubleshooting steps to help complete your download:
Confirm that your device is on the list of supported devices, which means it's supported for use with Android Market. If your device is not on this list, please contact your manufacturer with questions.
For paid applications, confirm your credit card information is up to date by signing in to your Google Wallet account.
Cancel and restart the download.
Restart your phone, then try downloading the app again.
Confirm there is connectivity to either wireless or cellular networks on your device, and contact your mobile service provider if you aren't connected.
Try your download(s) using both wireless and cellular network connections, and ensure firewalls aren’t blocking access to ports required for Android Market (TCP and UDP 5228).
Make sure you've cleared the cache and data of both the Market app and the Download manager. Here's how:
Visit Menu > Settings > Applications > Manage applications
Tab over to "All"
Select the Market app, and then tap "Clear data" and "Clear cache;" then, select Download manager and tap "Clear data" and "Clear cache"
You must be able to successfully sign into Google Talk to download apps from Android Market. Make sure your device is signed into Google Talk by following these steps:
Go to your phone’s app launcher, and press the Talk app.
If you’re already signed into Talk, press Menu, and then touch Sign out.
Launch Talk again to sign in.

superuser application need to root applications such as antivirus or Remove Programs, you can leave the application in the future because it is useful to you!

1. Superuser app means your device is rooted
2. It is the application that mediates between your phone and an application attempting to gain ROOT/Admin access.
3. It is very similar to UAC (user account control) in Windows 7, which will ask "Do you want to continue", anytime you or an application wants to perform an administrative task.
4. It is empty because you have not granted any app Root permission. All apps you grant/deny ROOT access, will be listed in the app.
5. Don't touch/(attempt to)remove the app, it will be very useful to you soon. It doesn't have any impact on the performance of your phone.
Hope this info helps you enough
Swyped from my Galaxy SII
After I root a phone, I would like to be able to uninstall/remove some stock apps (for example, stock Messaging app) and add some new apps (for example, 3d-party Messaging app).
Do I need Titanium app to achieve that? Or is there something more lightweight?
After I complete the setup, I want to disable/ restrict any further software changes. Pretty much the same as Window OS "Admin" VS "Standard User"
So I guess I would need some app manager capable of permission managing.
Any advice on my project? Will my phone be as stable as the original stock after such modding?
The phones: Moto E2 and Moto G2 and G3, Android 5.01 or 6.01
Well, Backing Up the Stock Content before doing any Modding to your Phone is a Good Practice and Extremely Recommended in Case of any worst case scenarios and you can achieve the same by Titanium Back or any Other app Readily available on Play Store.
After Back up, Yes, you can Uninstall PreInstalled apps or any other bloatware that you may don't want in your phone. And Install 3rd Party apps in place of stock Ones.
Talking about Permissions, until/unless you give Root Access to that App, it won't be able to Make any changes in the System. So, you also have to keep a check on giving Root permissions to apps.
Your Phone Will remain stable When you know what actually you are doing with it and what measures could be taken to revert it.

Once the phone is rooted, will I be able to block/restrict both: uninstalling apps (which are already installed) and installing new apps? The phone will be used by my kids, so I want to prevent them from making any phone changes.

You can't restrict to install and uninstall apps. As abhinavp649 said the application makes modifications to the system if you give root permission to them. If you are using SuperSU superuser app then you can set pin to grant root permission to the app from the settings of supersu

To Prevent app from uninstalling the best way is to hide it From Home screen Or Make that as System.
And Revoke SU permissions from those apps which can uninstall system apps or any similar one.
Hit thanks if Helped

How can I do that?
Additionally, can I, for example, turn on Location (GPS) and prevent the phone user from turning it OFF? thanks!

Installing an App as system is a easy and you can find tools easily on play store. Just search 'make app system' or something else similar.
Using GPS to prevent Turn off? I think you are expecting too too much out of a device.
However, you can disable Power Off from options you get by holding lock button.
To do this You Have to Install Xposed Framework in your Device.
Xposed Framework allows you to do Amazing modding to your Android device. You can just do everything with the device(Exceptions are always present)

If you are thinking of turning on GPS for the sake of tracking your kids, then make sure you tell them you are doing so. Have known a few people that got into legal trouble for not doing so.
In the end if the kids are smart enough there will be nothing you can really do as they can just reset the device and everything you did is gone.

So, can I prevent that by disabling/removing or password-protecting the option of "Factory Reset" on a rooted Android 6.0?

No. You can not restrict or disable factory data reset option by any ways even you are rooted. Some brands like Samsung gives FRP (factory reset protection) to their device. Devices without FRP easily factory data reset by entering in recovery mode or in settings.

If your device has root access, you can remove King root with other applications or from the King root settings. Uninstall the application with link2sd. If you can not delete the application, you will have to install the stock rom.

Thanks , but after three dots -> i have option to uninstall OR convert to user app.
Under both i get the same error:
"Link2SD could not obtain root access.
Maybe as i formatted my phone, i am no longer rooted and hence the error.
Also, i tried disabling Kingroot from phones builtin "Applications manager" and yes it seems disappeared from my App list on phone, Is it safe to say its no longer working on my phone even in background ?

The application that you deactivated will not run again, but if it really was malware, it probably installed other malware applications. I recommend you to do a complete analysis with several antivirus programs starting with Dr. Web.
I got a Samsung Galaxy A20 from Ebay recently and I'm trying to use it as a wifi only phone but Boost Mobile make it impossible to do so.. You'll get an intrusive pop-up asking you to accept their Terms Of Service "Sprint Device Manager" and if you just exit out of it without accepting it will continue to pop-up forever every 3 minutes. If you do accept and don't activate service on the phone (Samsung Galaxy A20 through Boost Mobile) they will disable your access to to your phone that you rightfully paid for making it impossible to use the internet etc as all pages will redirect to the boost mobile web site no matter your proxy, dns, browser etc..
I am not rooted but I have tried to use Shizuki Manager & Ice Box to freeze "Sprint Device Manager" and but I cannot find the process..
Help, how do I freeze this intrusive process ¿¡¿

"Sprint Device Manager"
Any help would be greatly appreciated!
just press "accept terms" and that will not show again
It disables my wifi access and makes you activate the phone with service if you press accept..
Download "Analyst" on PlayStore this will list all your installed apps and system apps now find that "Sprint Device Manager" and remember its package name then by using ADB command just uninstall it
here's an example
Code:
adb shell pm uninstall --user 0 com.???.???
Thanks! I couldn't get it to populate in any other app manager, that adb command will only disable it correct?
yes it would only uninstall it on the current user if you decided to do factory reset/default it would be back once again
Greetings, this is my first post, I don't know anything about this stuff, so please excuse my ignorance,
I am somewhat in the same boat as the original poster, bought a boost phone (moto g power 2021). The "carrier device manager" blocks wifi access and to activate I have to purchase a monthly plan. This isn't my video but this is the issue.
I couldn't find the "Analyst" app on the playstore
So far I have tried...
Removing sim card
Using a sim card from a previously activated phone
I then downloaded Minimal ADB and Fastboot Tool version 1.4.3 and the app inspector app as laid out in this thread https://www.xda-developers.com/disable-system-app-bloatware-android/
Think I got the hang of removing apps with ADB by using the app inspector to get the package name, but when trying to remove the "carrier device manager" it says that it is "non disable" and I am stuck now on how to move forward.
I was looking at a thread by pjottrr where he unlocks the bootloader and then in another thread roots the phone, the process seemed a bit confusing for me being a novice.
Also, any thoughts on the kingo root program.
Thanks for your assistance
