I decided to update to 2.3.4 after using froyo with the latest gingerblur. I read that i can update straight from gingerblur to 2.3.4, I wish I didn't lol. I followed this guide and got up to step 2 with no problem. Then I got kind of confused, since I already had cwm on my phone I just put this on my sd card and booted into tenfars cwm recovery using the system recovery app. I then selected the gingerbread update and it seemed like it installed just fine but when I rebooted I got up to the green motorola gingerblur screen and it would turn off and turn back on. So I then tried to flash back to 1.2.6 using rsd lite which failed. It still only gets up to the green motorola gingerblur screen. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Does anyone know how I can get my phone back into working order and properly install kens 2.3.4 rom? The bootloader is still unlocked.
Do you have the new cwm? If so you can flash the 2.3.4 from kennethpenn . If you don't have the lastest it wont work. Fyi the lastest is install with fastboot did you do this? Let me know .

Fastest fix is to fastboot htkw build of gingerbread then flash to the one from kenneth.
have you ever used fastboot? if not i will walk you though it.
1st go download the htkw build http://www.megaupload.com/?d=VLAKXBB3
Fastboot files for u http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1138092 choose if u have
32 or 64 bit
2st make sure the moto-fastboot or fastboot (they both work i have tested )file is in your c:\
you have to cd the drive first so make sure its in c:\ .FYI make sure all the files are in one folder not the root drive
so name a folder (whatever) then cd that folder from cmd.
Dont use " " just showing you commands
one at a time and wait for them
Then go to cmd
"cd c:\moto-fastboot"
click enter
then type
moto-fastboot flash boot atrix-2.3.4-hktw-boot.img
then
moto-fastboot flash system atrix-2.3.4-hktw-system.img
then
moto-fastboot -w
click enter
Should say writing\sending
Once your done and it completes
type moto-fastboot reboot
enter
Sent from my MB860 using XDA Premium App
It says "moto-fastboot is not recognized as an internal or external command, operable program or batch file"
edit: nvm downloaded the wrong one lol
Lol I think everyone does that first time ,after you get it back where you can use it. Flash cwm. Then we will go over how to install the good gingerbread.

i actually am stuck in a boot loop as well. i unlocked the boot loader on 2.2, then rooted, then flashed tenfars CWM. all went well. tried to flash ken's 2.3.4, installed fine, but upon reboot went into a boot loop.
so i tried the directions in this thread. but the system image is too large. fastboot worked fine with the boot image, but not system image. any advice? thanks!

lol I believe the reason for that is because the images in the zip weren't made for CWM, but for fastboot. If your fastboot isn't working, make sure you're using the new, updated fastboot from Motorola. Here is a link to it. The files included are for Gingerbread, but I would stick with the Safe update from Kenneth Penn. If anything, just use the Automated Upgrade from here. To use this, try downgrading to 1.8.3 using Fruit cake (don't risk using the SBF on your unlocked bootloader. Might end up with a fancy brick.)
Oh, and before you do anything, BACK UP. =] Friendly reminder =D
Happy upgrading!

This happened to me too. Please help.
This same problem happened to me. I'm brand new to this device. Just got it a few days ago. I think I managed to get the bl unlocked and got it rooted. Then I flashed gingerblur and everything was still okay. But when I tried to flash the latest alien build I got that same bootloop as described in the first post. Then I tried the solution in post #4. And it failed. I saved all the commands I entered and their output if that helps. Right now Im stuck at a screen that says "failed to boot 4" followed by "starting rsd mode". Any help would be greatly appreciated. Im a little scared

fastboot flash recovery recovery.img
i was in the correct directory and the recovery.img file was there
the cmd then says sending recovery.img... and sits there. it doesnt fail it just does nothing. ive tried flashing several different recoveries including the clockworkmod recovery and i still get nothing but sending...

still getting no response from fastboot. i had this problem before and i just kept unlplugging the usb and reinstalling drivers. but its not working for me this time
Right the way to do it is download the recovery image from the last link download the stock recovery from here
http://android.modaco.com/content/d...1-6-downloads-how-tos-rom-superboot-recovery/
open them both up
in the r1-4399-streak-recovery delete the RECOVERY and copy over the recovery from the other file and rename it recovery
put device in fastmode and start the windows batch and the recovery will install
If i ever need to install a stock recovery just install it into the r1-4399-streak-recovery rename it recovery and it will install every time

Yeah i got stuck at the dell log a couple times before it successfully flashed. I think something is up with fastboot not properly writing the files because i'll flash the clockworkmod recovery 3 or 4 times in a row with no result. give up on it and flash stock recovery then when i go into recovery mode, its the clockworkmod one :/

i just think my PC and fastboot dont agree with eachother. before i can flash anything i have to uninstall the drivers, restart my pc, reboot phone into fastboot again, reinstall drivers, and then flash what im trying to flash one at a time, then restart the whole process to get any results on what i try to flash next. I have no idea whats up with the recoveries because i ran into the same issue of flashing clockworkmod and having it work fine till next reboot and its back to stock.

i recently tried flashing cwm recovery on my atrix and when i did i got a error FAILED <remote: <00180002>> .... i was unlocked but soft bricked my phone and had to flash sbf 1.2.6 will this have any effect on this error? and is it because im not unlocked anymore?
make sure when you boot up the phone it says unlocked when trying to pu the new cwm
Your bootloader needs to be unlocked, if it isn't, it won't work.
I unlocked then flashed to 1.2.6 and I thought if u unloked once your always unlocked
Sent from my MB860 using XDA App
yes and no it seems that flashing partially locks just reunlock once unlocked all you have to do is reflash the sbf no need to execute the comands again
I flashed the unlock sbf again and it says unlocked and it sucessfully put cwm recovery on my phone but I can't bott in cwm recover mode anybody no the problem?

Out of curiosity, are you using tenfar's custom CWM, or are you installing it from within the ROM Manager app? ROM Manager's CWM isn't fully working yet, so try tenfar's instead if you aren't using it already. Tell us how it goes.
I am using the one that came with kennethpenns 2.3.4

I'm not really sure which one you mean; did you not use CWM to install Kenneth's 2.3.4? Did his distribution come with a CWM .img file? I haven't used it myself.
Anyways, starting from scratch, if your bootloader's unlocked, all you need to do is go here:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1138541
And download this file:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/attachment.php?attachmentid=641508&d=1309404399
Then download fastboot for Windows if you don't already have it:
http://diamantephoto.com/fastboot.rar
Extract all the files into one folder. I just used my Windows drive root (c:\) to make the commands easier to type.
Then open a command prompt (Start -> type "cmd" in the run box). Type the command "cd (whatever directory you stuck the files in)". In my case, I type "cd c:\".
Once the directory is properly selected, ensure your atrix is connected via USB, power it on while holding the down button, and once you see "fastboot" selected on the screen, press the up button, at which point you will see that the phone's ready to receive commands from the fastboot utility.
Back in the command prompt, type "fastboot flash recovery recovery-en-goapk-0630-1029.img". After several seconds you should see confirmation of success. Once that's done, you can tell fastboot to reboot the phone with "fastboot reboot", or you can reboot it manually, once again holding the down button. Then, once "fastboot" appears again, press the down button seven more times to select Android Recovery, then press the up button. Voila, tenfar's CWM with blue text should have loaded up.
I apologize if I was unnecessarily verbose, but I wanted to be as specific as possible.
Thnks I will try
Sent from my MB860 using XDA App
i did all that and the only thing that came up was the android guy with an !
So fastboot did report that it had successfully flashed the recovery file? If it didn't properly boot into CWM after that, I'm not sure what to tell you... Come to think of it, I imagine you'll have to have at least 1.8.3 for CWM to work properly.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1125944
Get the SBF from there, and then try flashing CWM again after that.
It said "finished" and im already on 1.8.3
Figured it out

I was an idiot. I should've read the instructions and the new software released, but after successfully flashing my phone a few times, I got cocky. I was running greyblur but wanted to update it to the latest official gingerbread FW. I flashed it using CW, but now it's stuck on the load Motorola screen. It'll turn on, show the motorola icon, show GREYBLUR, then just get stuck in an infinite cycle.
I tried leaving it on for a while, about half an hour and nothing worked.
Tried to fastboot, and give it a hard reset but that didn't lead to anything.
Anyways, I've downloaded the FW 4.1.83, tried renaming it to update.zip and running that but it doesn't work..
Can anyone help me out?

Hopefully some one can help me because my thunderbolt is a paper weight at the moment. I used the android dev method for unlocking my bootloader. All went well and i had a factory reset phone with an unlocked boot loaded. I then used adb and flashed clockwordmod recovery ver. 5.0.2.1. Then used flashboot reboot command to reboot then held vol down and power button and got back into hboot/bootloader/flashboot etc menu. Went to recovery and it went to the white screen then to clockworkmod. I wiped the cache and also the cache in the advanced menu. I then installed liquid ICS. It went through it steps and said it installed correctly. Then I rebooted the phone from clockworkmod and it hung on the white screen. I tried to reboot it a few times with the same result. I then tried to install a gingerbreak rom and had the same affect. I read and dug around and found the stock pg05img and put it on my sd card. I booted back into hboot and it installed checked and installed pg05img. I rebooted again from the Hboot menu and it hung on the white screen again. So now I feel stuck. Is my phone toast. How do I get this thing back on its feet. Ive rooted and installed custom roms on my xoom but I am def a newbie. Any help would be appreciated.
Thanks in Advance,
Barry.

With the HTC unlock you cannot flash boot.img's through recovery, so any non sense based and/or non gingerbread roms will not boot. I'd suggest flashing one then getting s-off.

With the rom file on the comp. Unzip it, and put the boot.img in the folder with fastboot you used to unlock. Then open that folder and hold shift and right click and click open command prompt here. Then connect the phone in fastboot mode. Once its connected, run
Code:
Fastboot flash boot boot.img
Then
Fastboot reboot
And it should boot. Then use the tbolt tool to get S-OFF

I got an HTC One today, and wanted to install MIUI, as it is very similar to iOS and I've been using an iPhone since the 3G came out. I've jailbroken most of my devices so I figured rooting it would be a fairly similar experience. I was wrong. It was complicated, but nothing I couldn't handle. I get to the point where I flashed MIUI through TWRP and then flashed my boot.img through terminal. Tried to boot and got stuck at the animation logo for 15 minutes. Started troubleshooting trying to figure it out. Tried reinstalling, etc. One time I went to advance wipe and chose cache, dalvik cache, and internal storage on accident and wiped it. Immediately realizing what I had done, I knew I ****ed up. Followed some instructions to do a ADB Sideload and it worked, flashed my boot.img again and now I'm still stuck in that loop.
I don't know what to do at this point. I'm downloading the stock RUU so I can maybe just relock the bootloader and try again. Please explain any procedures to me like I'm 5. I'm very new to Android, and compared to the one click jailbreaking available to the iPhone, this is a little messy.
Appreciate the help in advance.
Make sure you have the right version of MIUI. ADB push the zip in recovery and flash it. Don't flash boot.img.
What commands do I type in to cmd after i cd \Android into the folder with that stuff? I'm unsure of how to push the zip installation onto the phone in recovery mode.

Don't really know where to go from here. I cannot get out of the boot loop no matter what I try. I've flashed the boot.img through terminal, I've flashed it through Hasoon's AIOK and I still get stuck there.

I think you're fine with just choosing the zip file. You don't need to flash the boot.img. I've never had to flash a boot.img, just the zip file.
Do a factory reset, the Rom zip, and then flash. Only do those steps and see what happens.

I went ahead and used fastboot oem lock and executed the stock RUU. I'm up and running again with the stock stuff.
I really want to get MIUI up and running. Can anyone tell me what I need to do assuming I'm coming from a stock phone?
I know I need to:
Unlock bootloader again (with a terminal command or do I do the htcdev thing again?)
Flash a new recovery
Transfer the ROM
Flash the ROM
Restart to bootloader
Flash boot.img
Restart and hopefully have a working boot this time
Do I need to be doing anything with S-Off? I know the HTC Dev unlock only partially S-Off's..is that causing my problem?
Edit: using htcdev to unlock my bootloader isn't working. I get this message:
Error Code: Invalid Bootloader Token Length.
Error Reason: The submitted Token appears to be the wrong length and won't work.
Is this because I already unlocked the bootloader before? If so how do I unlock the bootloader after relocking it?
Edit 2: I am dumb. I just reused my unlock_code.bin.
About to try to reflash. Wish me luck!
