Hi there is a very similar thread to this already but it doesnt seem to be getting enough interest from devs. this clicking noise which is ment to be the camera lense opening and closing. the BIG issue i have and so do others is that this noise wasnt always there. mine only happened when i installed miui. but now when i wipe and install stock firmwares and other custom roms where i didnt have the noise before im still getting it. its not only when i open camera tho. i get the noise when i use flashlight and when i turn the phone on. and other times when the card is reading on first boot up it jibs out. its a simular clicking noise to a harddrive when its reading. im going to make a video and post it
EDIT: here is the download link for the vid i made of the noises http://www.multiupload.com/A97X896C4X

Hello all! I searched around a bunch and couldnt find anyone else with this same problem (I checked the threads suggested by the forum before I posted this). If there is another thread out there, please someone link it.
I am having big issues with Youtube (Ive tried the latest ap 2.4.4 too). When I use the Youtube Ap I can sometimes watch part of a video, and sometimes watch a video and a half, before the video freezes, the sound turns into a very loud "errrrrrrrr" noise (I dont know how to describe it, its a loud tone similar to the tone the old Nintendo NES would make if it messed up), and then the phone restarts after another few seconds of the tone. I tried using Opera and viewing the video that way and it just froze once it got to the video and restarted the phone, no tone.
So far I have tried Omega ROM and Elegencia ROM and am getting the same issue with both. I tried 3 or 4 different radios with the same problem.
If it is needed, I am using the data connection to do this, not Wifi.
Has anyone else had this issue or are there any solutions?
Thanks for the help!
-Drew
try it on android just for testing if there difference
I wasn't able to post on the dev. part of the TB forum since I don't have 10 posts, I searched and couldn't find anything that really fit my problem.
My problem; I've been on CM7 for maybe a month now and it's starting to drive me crazy. When I'm listening to the radio or music or something at work and a notification sound plays, well it doesn't really play it just makes my music go silent for a few seconds then continues to play my music. That's a little annoying but I learned to live with it, but more times than not when I get a text or any other sound that will play over what I'm listening to my sound completely cuts out and doesn't come back, I hear a sort of static sound so I have to restart my phone. I ended up disabling all notification sounds so it doesn't do that but sometimes when I even load up skype when it has that sound play it does it. What would the problem be? any help would be great, thank you so much!
A little question, this is my first time installing a rom, lets say I want to update it, I get the latest kernal, that doesn't wipe everything on my phone right? It's basically just like an update? Again thank you so much!
CM7 is amazing, thank you for putting your time and effort into making it!

installing a kernel will not wipe your rom, but installing a rom will wipe out the kernel you had previously to whatever comes with the rom. It's also better to post questions generally here than the developer's forum.
FWIW I'm on stock rooted and every now and then I'll lose the mp3 player sound (player will show its playing, but no sound from headphones or back speaker) after the phone rings or some other alert goes off, and the only way I've found to get the mp3 player to provide sound again is to reboot.
So this might problem might not be limited to CM7.
Hopefully someone can help me with this issue.
When using the stock "Soundrecorder" tool i can record the first two seconds just normal yet right after that the recording-volume just decreases so fast that after one more second i cant hear anything anymore when playing back the recorded sound.
When i stop and record again same thing happens again. This is quite the issue also in Skype since ppl can hear me the first seconds and right after its like i turned the micro off.
Trying one thread bump again to get a respond from someone with similar issues before i hit a factory reset.
The problem is really something i have not seen on any other android device i own. You start recording speech and right after 2 seconds the rec-volume is NULL.
I mean there aint any settings for the sensibility the built in microphone records right?
EDIT: FIXED
Mod, please delete this thread

Hi
I'm using Carbon ROM 0913 Nightly, and there's a weird popping sound at the few seconds of every song I listen to, and some distortions (too much bass).
I've disabled DSP Manager's settings, but it won't work, it stays the same.
Also, the PhotoSphere and Panorama seems to not be able to focus (sometimes it works, at random)
Any help on both issues?
Thanks! :cyclops:

I see your just getting started here but reading is a very important. help yourself first.
there is another post, only 2 threads down, with regards to your picture problems. eve the developer of Carbon has posted in there. as far as the sound goes, well, that really seems to vary depending on what ROM you are on. I have ran many different ROM's and had various different sound or music qualities. I have not heard music on the CARBON ROM. unfortunately my phone does not like that one. don't know why, but it goes to show how every phone is a bit different.
you could try either a different player or apply a different sound modification. I don't know whether its the speaker in phone your getting. I get bad sound from or headphones. it is a tiny little speaker in phone and at some point it is going to faulter. when I run the VIPER sound mod I get crackle too.
good luck

Try AC!D sound mod for Samsung devices DSP manager is pretty bad for the sound of your device in my opinion. Thier EQ was making my music really crappy until I find this
Sent from my SAMSUNG-SGH-I717 using xda app-developers app
Got a phone for my cousin,
when it came and I turned it on I realised when I put on camera and hit focus it made a clicking sound.
But thought cause I click the focus icon on screen
think i took some other pics without the focus but didn't hear the sound
my cousin now says that every app he operates the phone makes a clicking sound.
Has anyone else ever experience such?
