wiredly I am unable to change SMS Theme ..Any one know why?
EDIT: Came to know after update there was no SMS theme for any one. Why? and what theme you have now for SMS? Mine is Grey background and Yellow,Blue bubbles
There is NO sms themes anymore in 2.3.4 afaik. So you have to put back 2.3.3 I guess, lol.
Everyone has this, as all have been removed by Samsung. You could always install a different SMS app, but that's probably not what you're here for .

Can you tell me what app could I use to get rid of Threaded SMS. I want Normal SMS back, with Inbox/Outbox etc...Please suggest one which doesn't put any extra pressure on battery.
Sorry for Off Topic query ,but had to ask.
Regards.

I know that Go SMS has an Inbox-Outbox feature. You use the settings menu to make that your standard view. Or when you have installed the app and you see the different contact-threads, slide your thumb sideways, you'll see the old Inbox/Outbox.

As to be on-topc, I have seriously no idea why Samsung removed the themes. Maybe they're up to something, but I seriously doubt that. We may see them back in the future but I seriously doubt that.

Anyone seen any themes apart from the default 2?? cant seem to find any. Also wondering if there is any way to change the very low quality default no contact image, its very blurry poor image and wouldn't mind updating it with something of my own
thanks in advance
As its on the same theme, can I also ask does anyone know how to change the settings for the Handcent widget? Don't like the dark background but I can't see how to change it. Would prefer white with black writing.

Handcent - Settings - Conversation list settings - Display contact pictures
You can set your own account picture and that of others.
Also, if you go to settings - Account - Handcent Themes, register and you should be able to download themes.
is it possible to increase the limit of 160 characters?
no, I don't think it is
Not sure if this is the place, but its a question. For those that use GO SMS, is there a way to create your own theme for it? If so.... what needs to be done?
Sort of, yes. You can start with a premade theme, and then go into appearance settings and tweak the look of the inbox and conversation pages.
if you want to make a WHOLE new theme, umm ask the dev, im sure he'd support you he's really nice, he responds to every text i send him lol i think i annoy him a bit.

Go to settings, privacy, and un-check the box for show message text in the lockscreen section. Once you open privacy in settings it's pretty easy to figure out.

Hmm I don't know about BAMF I'm on Gingeritis VIII. I though that setting was always there tho even on stock. May have to ask in the BAMF thread or maybe someone else will come along. Sorry.

I have the same problem. How the hell do I disable text on lockscreen?
Might not be the perfect solution, but you could always try GO SMS Pro. That app has tons of different options for notifications. Hope it helps.

I have found another way around this if you don't mind using the AOSP lock screen.
The AOSP lockscreen will NOT display the contacts name or any part of the txt msg.
Use rootexplorer and go to the /system/apps folder and re-name the "htclockscreen.apk" to "htclockscreen.apk.old" then reboot your phone. If you ever wanna go back, just change the name back and reboot.

thanks for the tip, it works great!
BTW, did you have issue on data connection when you change the lockscreen. I have a feeling it's probably not, but just want to ask since I am losing data connection after I made the change. Probably its Verizon flacking ...

I've done a search and seen that this has come up a few times but haven't really found a suitable answer...
Can the stupid recipient limit of 10 on the stock SMS app be removed and also the converting to MMS when the message is 3 text messages long potentially could cost me a fortune...
I know i can download Go SMS and various others but i really like the stock SMS program, either that or if i download something like Go sms can i replace the stock SMS in the touchwiz shortcuts..
Hope that all makes sense
Thanks...
Edit just to add i'm running Omega 3.0 android 4.0.3.

Hi, I believe I read that with ICS, Google made it possible to remove carrier and phone producer apps. I have been through the settings but can't seem to find where to do so. Can someone help me?
Also, how do you remove eg. the contacts or messages icon? Before the update it was no problem to replace the custom SMS icon with another app, but it seems impossible now.

go to PLAYMARKET and get ICONCHANGER (RootUser) and you can download icons from the APPandTHEMES or you can create them on pgn format ! its so f. easy
I think you misunderstand, I want to replace the stock SMS app shortcut with a shortcut to the Go SMS app. But thanks anyway

Edit: I found out, I remembered it incorrectly and it's just going to apps, edit -> drag icon down to the touchwiz bar.
