Well, Optimus V is an Optimus One for Virgin Mobile. But unlike Optimus 1/Optimus T this one is different in many ways:
- Optimus One works on GSM networks while V on CDMA
- it has 2 extra sidekeys: camera and voice comm
- SD slot on the right side, not under the cover
So it's clear that ROMs for V/S/U won't work on One/T.
Thanx buddy.. understudy it.. so cn v lik port the optimus v rom to optimus t with the help f kitchen?

P.S. Your "shortspeak" is annoying like hell. Learn to write.

Wow someone is a **** lol some people might want to only pay 30$ a month instead of 70 thats why they go with the V and from what I understand the ROMs and mods won't although I know of at least one developer that will make abeta version of his MOD for the V but you will have to test out cause they don't have a phone to test it on

Hello
Does minecraft pe work on the wildfire? My friend has this phone and also wants to play minecraft on his phone.
The wildfire lacks a GPU so I doubt that it'll run minecraft on account of the fact that it runs with 3D graphics. I tried installing it when it was first released and all I got was FCs so I believe the answer to your question is no, sadly

Does the wildfire has arm6 I.s.o. Arm7? That's the reason it also doesn't work on the galaxy 3...
I have an alternative to minecraft here:
https://market.android.com/details?id=com.andreschnabel.steinkraftlite&feature=search_result
It worked on my wildfire with cyanogenmod on it. Give it a try!

Is it possible to port a rom for Optimus one to an Optimus V? If so what would have to be changed, I realize the kernel most likely will, but what else?
Theoretically, no.
People port ROMs from one phone to another all the time, so yes, you can. The Optimus V is a Optimus One phone anyways. There are some differences, but its not like a GSII to Optimus V, which I think can not be done.

My guess is no. Optimus V uses different signals then the rest of the Optimus One line, if it didn't we would have an Optimus S without the bloatware.

I wanted yo do the porting on my own as a learning experience so I was mainly wondering what the differences in the phones are and what all I'd have to change as far as kernel anxious build props etc

Hi all...
To the end of April I have to change my really amazing optimus one for any phone that I want... when I buy my optimus I pay 260 USD approximately... so now I can change my phone for any that be in this price range... the options in my country was:
- Moto Defy (a8-cortex, gorilla glass, 5mp + led flash camera, ics stable in his thread) 280 USD
- Galaxy Ace (same processor that p500, same camera that defy, ics not so stable in a low activity thread ) 240 USD
-Others that I dont remember..
The other option is pay +120 USD for a galaxy s...
Any suggestions?

read this before choosing defy http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1116694 so u make the right choice and beside it u have official cm7 and miui what else can u desire from the phone and very soon a working ics
> one thing I dont like with galaxy Ace is about its ram.. optimus one had more ram than ace,

Nothing beats defy in this range. Make sure to opt for defy and NOT defy plus.

I insist to go for Defy..... Just some days ago, one of my freind got it, I was really impressed with it's specs. Also it delivers you the largest screen (3.7 inches!!) in this range. The devs on defy forums hv ported almost all major roms to their device.
So, defy is the best choice acc. to me!!

I don't think they need ports now. Thet have official MIUI GB/ ICS, official CM7 and most probably getting Official CM9 too.

yeah its a bit above price range but it will be as you say supercalifragilisticexpialidocious. It has a bravia display, design is better, front cam, hdmi support and its too much for a bit more money i think. Defy is by Motorola, you'll even have to check for red and green lens problems. Better buy a neo v
u will be bit disappointed with screen contrast and music quality on defy though....

You're right!! Now they hv got official support, but just some months ago, when my freind bought it, their Dev thread was flooded with tons of ports!! Some I saw included Oxygen, MiUi and also CM9 alphas......!!
However good to hear that they hv now official supports..!
@~dhk-- I don't think you've any confusion now....!!
