[ROM] NooBOS (based on FroyoBread v012) | v03 | 26.07.11 - XPERIA X8 Android Development

Introduction.
It's not my personal ROM, I just modified the doixanh's FroyoBread v012 (thanks to doixanh ). I chose v012 because it's the fast and stable version of Froyobread.
I'm 15 years old, so please do not judge much.
Features:
- Dual Recovery - thanks to Puppet13th
- GreenFroyoBread theme (for me it is the most beautiful theme) - thanks to Alfsamsung
- Boot Animation
- Pre-Installed modules, scripts:
.....- Ax8_smatrass (smartass governor) - thanks to AnDyX
.....- Ax8mt (multitouch driver) - thanks to AnDyX
.....- Juwe's ram optimization script -thanks to Juwe

You told you're 15, so no hard feelings, but you can expect this thread will be closed soon due to following reasons:
- none of this is not your work
- you changed nothing
- you most probobly didnt ask for dx permission
EDIT: SetCPU and RootExplorer are PAID apps

NoobOS, ROM by noobs, for noobs.
But not needed IMO.

Thanks for saying i use illegal so swithing right now to legal.

Oh my god man, this rom is amazing.. it's like froyobread but way better, thx!!
Btw i think you should continue to develop more, maybe doixanh can kindly give you all his work so he can finally have some vacations and you can continue after him.
I was so stupid for paying for root explorer, if i knew this rom existed i could have had it without paying.
Many thanks, you are the man!
inb4 the thread gets closed

Class 12 wonderful true fast and stable thanks, man!

MANY people can have that score, unless you mean in a X8, but that score is 99,99% for sure not a X8, especially because of the I/O score... mostly likely a Droid or a Nexus. And if that question of who can beat that score applies to any phone... many people could have the double of that score easy. Like a Samsung Galaxy S II.
- - - - -
Haven't tried this ROM. Kinda silly to include the OC module, since it just makes you waste more battery, in case you don't really use the OC module, since it has a default frequency of 691MHz vs the normal 600MHz without the OC module. If you try to run in 600MHz you will get lag. A lot.
Also, last time I knew, including paid apps is ILLEGAL. SetCPU creator does note to NOT INCLUDE SETCPU ON ROMs. Root Explorer is paid... I recommend you take them from the ROMs. Otherwise, you might get into trouble...

[Kernel App] G3Mod app [V1.5 released!][FuguMod Support]

Hello all,
So Dharamg3 is doing a great job making his own kernel and has asked me to create an app for him so the user of his kernel can change stuff easily.
So I went working on it and came up with the base of it.
The following 2 posts are mine and in those posts I'll put up download links and screenshots.
The first post will be used as a change log, ToDo list, known bugs and Credits to the people who helped.
Change log:
G3Mod app V1.0
- Choose file formats and save them to the chosen path in a predefined file.
- If the folder doesn't exist, the program will create it.
- Reboot on user permission (Super User required!)
G3Mod app V1.1
- Data2SD, reboot required to work! (again, with super user and permission of the user)
G3Mod app V1.2.1
- In file system conversion, everything is optional. As far as I know Dharam's kernel can handle it.
- New reboot command which should work with the newer firmware versions.
- About information added (through the menu button wouldn't work, when I get my android programming book back I'll look into it).
G3Mod app V1.3
- App2Sd added
G3Mod app V1.4
- Added OC function. (I used the standard Int to hex method from Java, so it COULD be possible not all values are working (I only tested 900 MHz, it worked))
- Read the current file systems and display them in the dropdowns as default. (If not yet show, press back btn and then re-enter.)
G3Mod app V1.5
- FuguMod support.
- Swap script enable/disable.
- Fixed the problem about SD card fs type not being detected correctly.
- Added certain translations.
Known Bugs:
- The dropdown menus are cosmetically incorrect on some themes (see link (This was on GreenMods POX))
Credits:
- Dharamg3, for creating his Kernel and asking me for the app.
- Stylooo, for giving feedback on the app and as well testing the app.
- Andreapier, for taking over a lot of work

its more like a kernel app, which will allow for filesystem conversion, data2sd enabler, app2sd enabler, adding different frequencies for overclocking, and more stuff as and when they get implemented

Nice one!!
Finally an app that could be universally used..SG3 is definitely being made better much like it's big brother
EDIT: tested!! works.. perhaps you would like to add an option "none" for mmcblck in case there is no sdcard partition or just disable it in such a case..
Also adding the fs.convert to fugumod dir (if it's there) would make it work on both kernels..just a suggestiion
Way ahead of you (;

In version 1.1 (will be released later this day) there will be a checkbox, if checked, it won't include the sdcard partition in the writing process.

This is a good one.
I've used fugumod before, but the ROM I used it with just wasn't stable enough for daily use (somehow it kept rebooting and crashing every time I connected the USB in debug mode(which I use to test my apps, directly on the phone gives you a better user experience then on the emulator)).
So I know there is a fugumod folder which contains the fs.convert.
But since Marcellusbe created fugumod, I won't include it until he gives me approval.
Anyhow, stay tuned for version 1.1 later this day (;

Ehm,.. why is this in developement section? This is app so it should belong to themes n apps please ask haree to move this or other new members might think this is the right thing to do but anyway, good work dumpy you are very talented
This is the Development forum you are posting in. If you are about to make a new thread, ask yourself what you are developing. If you can't answer that question, do NOT post here. There is a "general" forum for asking questions or getting help.

From the "About to post a new thread? Read this First!" thread.
Since I'm developing an app for a kernel which is located in this section, me and Dharamg3 thought it would fit better in here then in the app section.
This way the app and the kernel are somehow connected because they can be found in the same sub-forum.

Actually it's the reason I stopped using GreenMods POX after just a few hours of testing: That display issue happens even in the standard settings menus at some points, but also in (many) apps. I doubt it's your fault, I think their theme is just more or less broken (this wasn't the only issue I encountered). I wouldn't worry too much about that and focus on new features for now

True true, I'll make some changes to the code and create a submenu before actually changing stuff (so before you get the current menu, you can either pick G3Mod or FuguMod).
Sounds like a plan?

As for all interested in this app, I'm currently doing some final changes to the app (not the FuguMod part or sd-card checkbox YET) and then I'll upload it (;

[APP][WIP] Xperia Tweak [ROM LIST][2.0][TWEAKS]

Xperia Tweak - The must have app for Xperia Play root users
Update is XperiaTweak_2.apk in attachment - EDIT ## Redownload, i forgot to change the root permissions stuff properly so it will not apply mods properly, re download version 2 to fix this issue. ###
What you get with this app:
Ability to install/remove the Sony Ericsson Mobile Bravia Engine, this makes images more crisp and filters them to make them more realistic.
Ability to force/unforce GPU UI rendering, this means that instead of having the CPU render the UI, the GPU will do it. This tweak makes your UI more smooth and also saves battery as the CPU can be reserved for other purposes.
Ability to apply/disable touchscreen tweaks which should make your touchscreen more responsive.
Major Feature Update:
I have added the feature ROM List, which allows you to see a list of ROM's that you can download and install on your device. If a developer wants to add a ROM, all they need to do is PM me. I will add stable releases from the official CM7 mirrors when they are released.
Code:
[b]List of Downloadable ROMS:[/b]
RootXperia - FreeXperia
- Will root your phone when flashed in ClockworkMod Recovery
CyanogenMod 7.1.0.2 [GSM]
- CyanogenMod 7.1.0.2 for the R800 GSM Xperia Play - from CM official mirrors.
Google Apps
- Google Apps for Gingerbread
DarkforestROM RC1 [GSM]
- Based on stock Sony Ericcson .42 ROM, ICS themed, tweaks, official Darkforest Group ROM.
DarkforestROM RC2 [GSM]
- release candidate 2: bloatware removed, back up system apps you wish to keep.
Samsung Galaxy SII Theme
- Samsung Galaxy SII Theme for .42/.58 firmware. Made by thomassafca from XDA.
If you want a ROM/TWEAK added all you need to do is send me a personal message
You can also link me to tweaks (anywhere) like the ICS themed framework, I will be adding that soon once I create an update.zip for it.
FAQ:
Why does pressing the back button while downloading not cancel the download?
- I have not yet figured out how to implement that function, to cancel a download, press the home button, open the Downloads application, tick the download and press cancel.
Why does it not apply the tweak sometimes?
- It is a bug, open settings -> applications and force close the app, then try again.
Thanks are very appreciated, soon I may put this app on the market
Suggestions are welcome too!
Keiran

nice score have you a link to SuperCharger V6 (mega ram 1) by 'zeppelinrox' as i have all the same kernal, rom and speeds only getting scores 1700 something so that other tweek looks good cheers mate thanks.
These also worked with the R800X, since they are build.prop edits the R800X is missing as well. Seemed like the UI was smoother.
I copied bornotty's setup, but I have DoomKernel V8 and am using mega ram 2 on V6 supercharger. I ran it at 1.6Ghz also.
This is what I got.
I also wanted to benchamrk these Tweaks on 1.6 Ghz but i fogot that my Play cant handly that frequecy. It crashed^^ But i get about 1800 point with 1.2Ghz

not a huge difference but its good to see a high score
this is after using 'MegaRam 2'
I'm not seeing a performancE difference. Build.prop tweaks are good for quadrant, but I suspect they're less decisive in real life (I say it as a jaded Galaxy S tester, where everyone and their mother used quadrant to back their claims up).

-----------------------------------
I first created this ROM for myself because there are so many ROMs out there but none of them is the perfect one for me.
The idea behind this ROM is to stay as near as possible to Stock but with maximum performance and, of course, battery-life. The Stock-ROM is very good already but needs some fine-tuning, that was my part
This is my very first CustomROM but I think the results speak for themselves.
I didn't apply any themes because I like the Gingerbread-Style and if you really want an ICS-Theme, flash another ROM or Vertumus' ICS-Domination theme.
The launcher in the left screenshot is LauncherPro with MIUI Theme and Simi-Clock.
Update:
I decided to come back to only one version which is stable for everyone. If you want to UV or tweak governor-settings, do it yourself with e.g. VoltageControl or SetCPU.

Uploading antoher Edition called "NORA":
- Includes Speedmodkernel k2-21
- no custom cpu/gpu settings (set them for yourself)
- reactivated bootlogo
It's for people who rely on absolute stability and don't want to UV.
Link comes in about 20minutes.
The Standard version is, of course, still available and is now called DOPA.
can please make j kay compatible ,you integrate speed mod kernel for special people
can change it without probleme , i like uv

I hope you are all aware of that if its based on PrimeHD 9.0 for stock kernel its actually stolen GDX.

why this topic comes up when any rom is said to be based on GDX?..neither DX nor EET has any problem with that.. no need to bring up that point again and again... no need to criticize anyone

[ROM] CleanBread_beta_2 [2.3.4][24/06/13]

Hello guys
Since I've seen that a lot of users keep changing their roms, undecided between gingerbread, ics and jb, I wanted to make a rom based off the Official .58 firmware relased by Sony. The first goal of this rom is to give users a stock experience, because I think that stock roms are, for the most part, better than custom roms.
Going to the facts:
> What's working
- everything that works in a stock rom

> What's NOT working
- nothing, but post here if you experience problems

> Features
- Bravia Engine
- Multiboot-Aware
- Pre-rooted with SuperSU
- Walkman with Equalizer
- Latest Play Store and Google Search app
- NXT launcher
- No Frills CPU included
- Debloated really a lot

I had the feeling that .58 firmware was faster than .79, so I used it (but if users want me to re-base it on 79 firmware, I could do it in a possible update)
Yes, it's multiboot aware (as stated in features), but i don't recommend to use turbokernel, simply because a lot of things are broken (like usb mounting)
@CriGiu
thanks very much. this is i think exactly what i needed. as you write some users can't decide because everywhere is something that does not fit right (battery drain here, a fc there or just "overtweaked" roms that makes everything worse).
i think i go back to stock with this nice, spartanic one.

yeah man, and stock roms are usually bloated as hell
also, if you want another feature, or a deeper debloat, just tell me
thanks, i appreciate your approach. i think i can remove some apk's for myself from the zip - like news, google, retaildemo, protips - i think that's it from what i can see. nothing that requires a new upload i think
i see you added cpu settings. you think it's save to use setcpu (because of app profiles)? i had serious problems when installing setcpu on cm9.
and please be careful implementing too much as i liked the idea to have a very clean, solid and stable rom. until now the added features are useful

you think i could add setcpu in the next update?
it's a commercial app so i don't think the author would be happy about it.
is it safe to remove no-frills or will i break the settings app?

if you remove nofrills you will get fc when clicking on Cpu Setting under Settings app
but it won't break the rom
Any updates been a while also whats gaming and battery life like on this rom
