Double Syncing Items? - HTC EVO 3D

Why is there a facebook and LinkedIn and a HTC Sense version of those. Do both need to be syncing?
FaceBook
Facebook for HTC Sense
LinkedIn
LinkedIn for HTC Sense

The main difference I've understood for Facebook is that Facebook sync syncs just your contacts, whereas Facebook for HTC sense is much more fleshed out. Statuses appear below contacts, post directly from the phone, etc.
As for linkedin, I've never messed with it.

How can I make HTC Calendar sync from other sources?

My HTC Desire is able to use the internal HTC Sense Calendar to sync from Facebook and Twitter and 'pull' people's birthdays from there and add them to my entries. So, for example, if a friend has his birthday on 9th of January, it lets me know so directly from the calendar.
On my HTC Hero (running 2.1 and Sense), the calendar does not seem to do so, and it only does the standard sync with Google Calendar (which does not have these entries as it is facebook and twitter).
Is there a way to make it work? Or is this perhaps only a feature of 2.2 Sense (my Desire is running 2.2 with Sense)?
Have you added in the facebook and twitter accounts to the sync list in settings and gone in and made sure the contact box is ticked to sync automatically ?

[Q] Facebook Sync

When I had a BlackBerry, I accidently synched my contacts with Facebook and vice-versa. I remember it as having caused one royal F-up on my phone. I had duplicate contacts, their pictures were jacked up (not the ones that I had used), and Facebook ended up with my entire phonebook on their end.
Does anyone Sync their Facebook contacts on Android, and does it result in the same issues? Would there even be any point to it since my contacts are synched with Google?
Any insight into this would be greatly appreciated.
Works great using Facebook for sync. The Facebook for android app won't sync contacts, or at least it didn't work well enough for me when I tried. Lets you link it manually and won't cause a duplicate issue.
I have never had any problems syncing with Facebook for Android or HTC sense.
When Android contacts sync with social networking outlets, they "link". This pretty much means it takes two contacts, the original one and the Facebook one, and puts them together. But not in the sense that they are combined to make one contact, rather, they are paired and appear as one in the contacts app.
In the event that you flash a new ROM, wipe your phone, anything, the link goes away. No messy exchange or consolidation of contacts. Clean and simple.

i found out that the tbolt (maybe sense ) has a feature to link contacts and will do it automagically

[Q] Facebook Sync

I like being able to sync people into my phone's contact list from Facebook. On the Fascinate is there an advantage to using the Facebook App to do this instead of the built in TouchWiz Contacts Sync?
I've read somewhere that Contacts Sync causes a battery issue
Yep....the facebook app allows you to do just that. The first time you login it will ask you to sync your facebook contacts to your contacts, list

Calender Issues- Facebook

Hello all. I just received my Evo 3d replacement (processor failure on 1st one) I can't remember or I am doing it wrong. I want to have my Facebook sync, just not the calendar. I hate having my calendar look like I have stuff everyday, only to find out it is just a bunch of birthdays. How do I not have facebook birthdays not show up? When I set it up I choose my main calender, not all calenders, I turned off the facebook calender sync under accounts in the setting, but they still show up. Any Ideas?
I think it may depend on what calendar you use, or maybe the HTC sense and stock Android have the same function. In the HTC calendar, go into it, up at the top mine says all calendars, there is a little down arrow thing, click that, deselect the Facebook check box.
Done.

Change Facebook and Twitter for HTC Sense sync schedule for Friendstream?

I've noticed in Accounts & Sync, there is no option to change the sync schedule for Facebook and Twitter for HTC Sense. Is there no longer a way to change the sync schedule for use in Friendstream? I thought for Facebook it might be using the Facebook app's sync schedule since they're integrated, but that doesn't seem to be the case. Twitter for HTC Sense doesn't have anything either, and it's seperate from the actual Twitter app.
