lmao k wow was wondering why no one replied im sucha a tool, i guess a better question would be can i get to stock without a usb cord and having to use ODIN is there an sd card way available? Hey guys, I need some quick help on flashing a new rom/kernel onto my buddies Bell Vibrant GT-I9000M. I am guessing this is the right section since it is called a vibrant lol as I was confused to maybe post in the I9000 Section.
I own a Captivate so I don't know much about the vibrant on how to go about things, figured it would be similar.
I been searching but been having a hard time, and he needs his phone back quick. Was wondering if you guys could help me on how to just get his phone working again. His phone can only go into download mode, recovery 3e, and stays on a constant boot screen. Makes things hard to do. I wanted to do a oneclick odin to stock fix like that captivate has but I don't see one anywhere here. If there is then this whole thing would be much easier.
If not, any one mind giving me some steps on how to use odin 1.7? I figured I'd go with the darky rom and suggested kernel.

Looks like your'e in the wrong section, there are lots of threads in the Q&A section about this which is probably where this needs to be posted anyway.
you know how to get in to download mode but you dont know how to odin hmmmm. check the i9000 forum on the right way to get back to stock or whatever then flash away it should be a sticky or thread there explaining how to odin back.
It's different... ur friend vibrant looks more like I 9000then u. S version vibrant.
And don't post it in development section or u will get flamed.. by troll..

Yeah that is the part I'm confused on is which rom to use as the u.s vibrant looks different then the canadian one.
Like eveyone else said. Try to.ask in the I9000 section, they should b able to help you

whats a kernel?? what.it do to the phone??? i have samsung galaxy s with t mobile im root it n my rom is bionix-V 1.2... which kernel is the best to flash??? it does matter what rom i have?? or i just can flash whatever kernel i want .... thanks a.lot guys
IMO it depends on what you like best and wether or not you intend to OC. BTW this post belongs in the vibrant general section.
I wouldn't use a kernel if you don't know what it is. It has the potential to harm your phone if you don't know what you are doing. Go through and read the threads for each kernel first imo

Bionix V should have a voodoo kernel (stock injected) on it, and so far, that is the best one yet.
Unless you want to tweak your phone as to OC (Over Clocking) or wanting a UV (Under Volt).
AND BTW:
These kind of questions should be POSTED ON THE VIBRANT Q & A SECTION, ok?
One more thing, read up on all the threads that has [KERNEL] on the front of the title. Isn't it obvious? They differ. So knowledge is the key, read up on them. SEARCH!

For me the easiest way is to Odin a stock rom on the phone cuz they already come rooted. Correct me if I'm wrong but I believe this thread belongs in general

Odin is a must if you plan on rooting a fascinate, read, read and read so more. By the way make sure when using odin you flash in pda not Phone or you will have a $500 paper weight. And this definitely should have been posted in general.

I feel like giving a tutorial, again correct me if I'm wrong...
Download Odin
Download system kernel and eb01 radio
Take out battery of phone and sdcard (I take out the sd just to be safe)
hold down the bottom volume button while plugging in to computer(should show yellow android digging something I think and say downloading)
open Odin on computer
Click PDA
Click the modem file
Click start
Click the system file
Click start
Click the kernel
Click start
Reboot and you're good to go

Dammed there is a q&a section now i know i was tired.. sorry i didnt see it.. again put this where you mode think it belongs..
I accept, i messed up here... Have a AT&T Galaxy SII, rooted and decided to install a new ICS ROM... Went into CWM and backed up existing ROM, then installed new ROM.
Now I do not get any Voice on calls or via speaker... I tried restoring the backup from CWM and NO luck....
Can anyone please help... how do I fix this issue so I can make and recv calls.

Lucky you didn't hardbrick by flashing stuff without doing your research first.

Same happened to me. Install a UCKH7 modem.
So yer telling him to flash a modem that wont fix his problem, which is the voice calls? Did u see he flashed an ics rom?

These threads should be closed immediately just on general principle.
Any rom that removes voice is best characterizd as a downgrade, not upgrade.
The only ics Roms that work on our phone is in the ported development threads. Other than that, read read read. Good luck.

An yet it is still a dumb thread that could have been answered with some searching and reading.
I have been searching and reading and cannot find the answer to this problem. If someone could please point me in the right direction, I would appreciate it. I would not consider myself a "noob" as I have flashed 50ish roms on 4 different phones (total). This problem is driving me crazy. Please share your helpful input rather than trolling back. hello guys i did some research and i have only found Da-G's thread which is the old revert to stock. I currently have an issue with my note, and i called warranty and my new device should be here on Monday. i will have to ship my old device back, thus ill need to revert it back to stock. whether it be GB or ICS. is there any insight on this. im afraid of using DA_G's odin.tar and bricking the device since i believe it is a GB odin. any light shed on this would be phenomenal.

ok so i found a flashable pure stock ics. i wil flash that, but the only thing that i would need is a recovery. anyone know if this recovery here

Go on ebay and buy a USB replacement port for 5 to 10 bucks. 10 minute job, already done mine.
