[Q] is there a key combo to capture a screen on Vibrant? - Vibrant Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

on the i9000 there's the home + back combo, is there something like this on the Vibrant?

There is but nobody knows what it is. Its a mystery.

huh?

There's a ton of stuff out there on the web on how everyone at one point had it happen on accident but nobody can reproduce it. If you figure out how to consistently make it happen, you'll be the first IN THE WORLD!!! lol
Check it out:

stock froyo mysteriously does it for some, nobody can do it consistently.
MIUI has this built into it (menu + Vol Down).

It happened to me once; I was jumping around a bunch of apps and the screen froze for a second and made a camera click. I checked my gallery later and it took a screen shot. I don't have any screen cap apps installed. still don't know what I did to do that

Same thing happened to me, not even Devs know ...

[Q] Auto-rotate on home screen stopped working

Hi All,
Picked up a new SGT 10.1 today on the Staples deal. Well, actually two, the first suffered badly from the dust under screen issue and I returned it, cleaned out two stores in the process.
Trouble is, after the first time I engaged the orientation lock (literally the first time I locked the orientation), it no longer auto rotates when on the home screen. Worked fine for a couple hours prior to that. When I go to the camera app, it rotates (although lags sometimes, but can't tell the cause).
I've tried hard resetting multiple times with two different methods, made no difference. Searched around, found only one other person describing the problem and no solution.
Has anyone heard of this? Is there any app I can use to further test the sensor?
Thanks all!!
P.S. Sorry for the double post in Q&A, I posted there by accident.
Go to the home screen. Once in at home screen, press and hold anywhere to bring up the screen to add Widgets, etc... Click on the App Short Cut tab and then tap the home scree without actually adding anything. All you are doing is going to the App Short Cut tab. Now when you rotate your SGT the rotation will be much faster.
Try your rotation first before doing this so that you can see the difference in speed.
Enjoy...

[Q] Problem with the home button

I just got a Galaxy Note and have been having a problem with the home button that I would be grateful for help on.
When I undock the phone, the home button starts acting weirdly. Instead of taking me to my home screen, it takes me to the alarm clock dock page. The home button becomes pretty much useless.
Has anyone else had this problem. Is there a solution? I would hate to return the phone for what seems like a straightforward user interface issue.
back key does this to me if I clear processes....takes me to internet.phone...sms....lmao.....just a small bug to deal worth for a awesome bro my friend....make sure all caches are cleared and processes every so often......is your home key doing what sounds lik my back key does?

Yeah, you just have to back out until you get the real home screen. Then it works.

In stock image "Gallery", when zooming a pic, screen goes black

In stock image "Gallery", when zooming a pic, screen goes black .
After the ICS update, the image gallery also suffered a problem. Sometimes while viewing a pic and you double tap to zoom in, suddenly the screen goes black...no pic. Start to zoom back out and the image comes back..zoom in again..image black screen again. This happens with random pics and wont fix itself unless you Force Stop the app in Control panel. It wont always be the same pics..anyone else get this? Its not important, I just wondered if this is just something on my phone..
After updating to the OTA, everyone has problems until they do a factory reset. It clears out all the GB crap that messes it up.
Backup your data and then power off your phone. Take out the battery and put it back in. Then press power and volume down until you see he white screen. Use the volume keys to highlight and power to select "factory reset".
Forgot I wrote this, sorry. Already did a reset long ago as per suggestions by others for other problems since the update. So the problem never fixed itself. Its some crap with ICS. Its annoying because now I keep getting this problem.
Has anyone else experienced this before?
Ok..obviously nobody knows about this. I'm going to take a short video and i'll have it up within a couple days. This photo browser is pissing me off! Is there a better or just as good (FREE) app out there in the market or on XDA? Something that doesnt have this bullsh** problem in it? Thanks ahead of time for any replies.

[Q] Touch button doesn't work sometimes

Hiya all,
Got my HTC one few weeks back and think its freaking awesome. Love the phone, just one small problem.
Every now and then the two touch buttons (back and home) don't work, but not at the same time.
For example, im using facebook and look at an image. I try to go back but the button doesnt work so I have to use the home button. Usually it works again if u lock the phone the unlock it again.
Sometimes happens to the home button, like when you double touch the home button it shows recent applications. Again I have to lock and unlock it to get the touch buttons to work. Its not a really problem more of an annoyance, just hope it doesn't get worse. But still, I wouldn't expect this from a new phone.
I did email HTC support but they haven't got back to me, any thoughts guys?
I have rooted phones in the past and installed other ROMs, but I wanna keep the stock at least til the warranty is up on this phone. Also checked for updates, and found none.
So yeah, any thoughts
Thanks

I would return asap. That shouldn't be happening although I heard this issue from someone else but most people don't have this issue.
I'm not an addict I just flash a lot.

Phantom home button presses

I have been experiencing what I believe are random presses of the home button. Every so often I will be reading something and the app I am using will close to the home screen without me touching the screen. If I open resent apps the app I was using is right there and when I open the app it is right where I left off. So I believe it is a home button command and not a force close of the app.
If anyone has an idea of how to figure out what is going on here I'm open to suggestions. I'm working with someone to try and use Tasker but I'm over my head, as I do not use Tasker much.
Any idea are appreciated.
Thank you.
I have been getting these too, happens a lot when using the keyboard and no it's not me pressing different buttons for sure.
Same phantom home button presses are happening with me too. I first thought maybe I was too close to the screen and it was seeing a touch, but later it happened a few times while the phone was just sitting on a table without me even around it. At least I know it's not just me and hopefully LG can fix this in a software update, because it is annoying.
Can confirm, I've also been getting this. Thought it was me at first, but I've also seen it when the phone wasn't being touched.

Following this, I swear this has happened to me also. I thought I was touching the second screen causing it. I will say I have not seen mine doing it just sitting there.

It's done it once or twice a day for me. Today it did it while I was using Google maps for navigation and navigation minimized to the pop out screen. So I am fully convinced it's a home button command. I wasn't even holding the phone so it definitely wasn't a slip of my thumb.
As an update. I havent had this issue in awhile. Wondering if they addressed it in an update?

Same here... Haven't noticed it in a while.
In the U.S., I know for sure that T-Mo and AT&T units got a small patch bringing us from the Feb. 2020 security update to the Apr. 2020 security update.
It's entirely possible they snuck in some bug fixes as well.
I get it still on my phone here and there so don't think it's fixed yet and I got the newest update already.. and do u guys know how to hide home buttons without gestures like my old v30 I can't figure it out.
I believe it has something to do with the actual phone and not software related. The reason i say this is because if you put your phone down and touch the screen it works fine but use it while holding the ghost touch comes back.
