The Android Market keeps track of your purchase timestamp.
If you use it for more than 15min, then you bought it...

Google can...
Don't try to outsmart google - it will use market licencing if it's so expensive, and that means that you will not be able to use it if you refund it.
Just buy it ffs.
what the heck costs $150?

Thanks for the reply! I buy it from best buy (US) I live in PR. I can see most of the apps but for example Grand Theft Auto 3 doesn't allow me to buy it... is annoying. same happen with Shawdown Gun THD
Have you tried to buy from here mate http://www.tegrazone.com/? did it work?
If not try this
First stop Market and cleared all data/cache for it, then remove all google accounts and turn off any location finding services. Then I turned on orbot (Tor) using strict exit nodes (a list of US exit nodes that I put in). Started Market up entered my google account when prompted, you will have full access... slow as hell, but will be able to download. Will probably need to repeat for any updates, but it works.

Okay I have applications on my tablet that i got through alternative ways, and the market shows i payed for them but i didn't so i cannot update them. I want to pay so i can get updates but the problem is i cant get the market to allow me to pay for them because its linked to my google account. Is there a way around it so i can pay for it? I tried using titanium backup to destroy the market link but that's a no go, still shows i payed it so i cant buy to update. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thank you and i will hit your thanks button.
Try and backup the app + data, uninstall, reboot, purchase and restore just the data.
Have you tried uninstalling the app(s) using Titanium Backup (keep the backup, just hit the uninstall button) ,then go to the market, re-install and purchase the app? Even though the market says purchased, when you go to update, you will never be able to without actually purchasing through the market because the market keeps track of what you purchase by association of your gmail. Tempting as it may be, NEVER get paid apps outside of the market for at least 2 important reasons : 1. SUPPORT DEVS! These apps take time and expertise and a number of other things, I'm sure you don't work for free, right? 2. Malware can be added to apps and you won't even know it, even if you use the latest/best antivirus/malware protection available! At least in the market you have a degree of protection against such bad things because a Dev does not want bad reviews and Google's Bouncer checks apps before they are allowed to be listed to minimize the chance of mailicious software. Sorry, really tried hard not to preach, just some friendly advice.

I have had this issue before too, and all my apps are from legal sources. OP may have done nothing wrong, because Amazon app store, getjar, and others show up this way in the Market. In TiBu, you can long press a problem app and select unattach to market and it will not show up. But if you want updates and to keep your data, the best way is what Gibeon said.
Correct I've gotten and paid on other markets. Ty for all the suggestions, ill try them out. Some apps I don't know what market I used for payment, but I rather just to buy again then figure it out. I did try uninstalling through titanium backup, a while back I used titanium backup and used the option of market doctor and somehow it links it to Google and can't figure it out to get rid of it. If I delete an app and destroy market link and go to Google online even with my computer it says I have purchased it already but errors out to get it. I'll mess around with it, shoot I guess I can make a second gmail to do it lol. Again thanks for your help
One of my friend have installed a pirated app of swiftkey...now the market have started throwing error for him for swiftkey and it had stopped giving predictions. He came to me asking for help. I told him i can only help in case he purchase it (and sale was also going on) so when he went to his market to buy it shows there already purchased (even after uninstalling from phone). I tried for him by detaching the app from the market from titanium backup but still it shows there. Cleared all cache and data for the app and market and still no avail. Is there any way to fix this or will have to go ahead and buy from another google account and have multiple accounts added in market ?
*(sorry for informal english and any grammatical errors that might have made their way in)*
Thanks much in advance!!
I have never heard of a pirated app showing as 'purchased' in the app store.
Uninstall the app.
Clear app store cache and data. Reboot.
if it shows as purchased, just reinstall. If not, buy it.
It seems like he wants the legit app and not the pirated one. If the app store shows it as purchased, and he/you, whoever, downloads it, it will be the legit app. The app store will not give you a pirated version.
I see no problem here, other than your friend pirates apps.
Titanium Backup has ability to detach apps from Market.

No it doesn't work like that. When I get free apps off amazon the market sometimes shows when they need to be updated. If you try to update them, it gives you an error saying you didn't pay for it. If you uninstall the app, it will still show up as purchased, and you won't be able to purchase it or install it.

No it shows. Normally when u install apps from Amazon or use some apk for testing then those apps too show as purchased in the market. U cant reinstall from the market and neither can purchase them. Market doesnt allow you to repurchase the purchased item(though infact it was never purchased).
I have tried detaching it from market though TiB but still this doesnt get fixed.
Not sure if reflashing the whole rom after a full wipe will help.
Anybody??

You could try buying it from the market website. Apps not installed from the market will not show under My Apps but if you search for the app on your device it will show as installed since it probably detects the app on the device itself.

No luck there too. Web market also shows that the app is purchased. Guess its synced to google market's servers and even reflashing wont work after full wipe.

That is weird that it happens that way. It has not happened to me and I use amazon market and have pushed many apps to my phone. I have not encountered this. Also, android market has never prompted me to update an app that I got from Amazon.
Not saying it does not happen, it seems obvious that it does, it just has not happened to me.
Is the app available on Amazon market? If so, can he just purchase it from there?

Was referring the Amazon apps case as stated by Waddle in the above post. And sadly Amazon not available in our country
I seem to have this issue as well. Trying to move away from amazon market and re-purchase my apps on the android market, however the amazon purchased apps are showing in my android market as purchased and I can't get rid of it.
Any other ideas on how this can be fixed?
sign in with another google id and you can buy it again. But this way has it draw backs too..
I have the same problem with swiftkey... I got it from the GetJar store a few months ago but it was an old version and i uninstalled it. now I cant buy it from the market as it is shown as purchased. and as said by abhisahara nothing seems to help.
cant anyone think of something to do?
Same thing going on here
oddly enough, I had dead space and shadowgun then i saw the 50% off and i uninstalled both from my android and then i went and purchased dead space and it worked but then went to purchase shadowgun and it shows as purchased and i cannot neither download it nor purchase it. It is becoming annoying. Any ideas?
have you tried uninstalling it from within the market app on your Android device?
My forum colleague found a way. Here is the solution - it's a croatian forum so i will write it here in english.
1. open Google play (Market) in Chrome browser (on your desktop/laptop) and find the wanted app (best would be that you backup the app via Ttitanium backup if you can, and uninstall it)
2. right click at PURCHASED, and select Inspect element
3. above the selected row you'll see data-ispurchased="true". Look at the screenshot (if the sshot doesn't work, PM me)
4. change"true" in "false" and select enter (on your keyboard)
5. now click PURCHASED that will open the popup for buy via google wallet so you can purchase the app (of course, you must have a valid credit or visa card and a registered wallet account for this to work)
it worked for me. bought two apps, cut the rope and quell reflect.
maybe it works in other browser, didn't try it.
had some problems with downloading the second app. had re-change the inspect element to true. and after the re-check the app started downloading on my phone.
thanks to my pce forum colleague Lacy for this info.
It really works, I've been looking for ages !
After a few tries and uninstalling the app from my phone, I could purchase it. No more update worries !

The above posts both provide a workaround/partial solution. Here is my suggestion...
If you choose to try Old Market, when you launch it you can choose "old" or "new" market. It requires root permissions to work. After selecting which Market you would like, it will reboot the device and, once it is booted, the market you chose will be installed. Take note that I did in fact still see some free apps that weren't installed, but not all of them. Perhaps they were only the apps that were downloaded to this specific device/ROM.
That said, the "old" Market is indeed the very old V2 Market. I went back to "new" Market (V3), and it upgraded itself back to Google Play after a little while.
Unless you truly like the old interface of the Market, I'd recommend you go with CosmicDan's suggestion of logging in to Google Wallet and viewing your transaction history. This will give you a list of only the apps you have purchased. Unfortunately you can not install them to your device from there, but at least you can see only the apps you have purchased without seeing every app you have ever downloaded.
--- Original Post ---
Is there a way to view only one's purchased apps in the new Play Store? The new interface for the My Apps section does not seem to have a way to do this like it used to, instead showing seemingly every app one has ever downloaded, with purchased apps mixed in (in no logical order).

Big time bump on this! They really do need to add a tab that shows purchased not just installed and history.
Just ran across this. Hope there is a fix in the works. Not being able to sort the apps is a major FAIL.
I let my son have my old droid and he went crazy downloading what looks like every free app offered....my mistake for not creating a junk gmail account. Now I have literally hundreds and hundreds of apps listed in my app section of the play store.
Bump, I would like to know also
It appears that even the app management section of the Google Play website doesn't have this capability. On the positive side, the site looks great! -_-
This is just wrong, when you've bought allot of apps and downloaded plenty of free apps.
There's got to be an easier way to see what you've bought and redownload!
Someone got a clue?

This is such a fkn annoying issue. BUMP!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
The other thing is there should be a tab to multi select app installs so you aren't directed to the install screen and forced to start from the beginning of the main screen after you go back. If that is not an option at least add the ability to install "ALL" paid apps.
Why in the hell would we not get the option to see purchased apps only but we get the option to see "ALL" downloaded apps paid or unpaid. That's just fkn ridiculous
P.S. To anyone that is going to tell me to roll back or move previous apk versions to system/app or even use an app to do it for you and blah blah blah. I have tried everything.
The closest I got was using the apk I will attach for everyone here. Be sure to unzip it and move the file to your phone and use a file explorer to install it.

Not likely any time soon in my opinion. I'm quite positive that they knowingly made the decision to change (read remove) the list of only paid apps in the Play Store, in an effort to "improve" the app. Unfortunately.
.— Powered by Nexus —.
Another Google Fail just like the crappy resolution contact pictures that they refuse to fix. Thanks google for making have to make duplicate phone contacts and link everything. Also thank you for getting rid of showing only the paid apps.
Google has always been a piece of.. garbage, but as of late, they have just been, a piece of... junk..
Well, I do not think Google forgot to have that view. From their point of view it absolutely makes sense:
If you forget about an app you bought some day, you might end up buying another one, providing the same functionality later. And that is where they get money from, not you re-installing an already bought app.
It does not go too well with the "don't be evil" motto, but this was clearly a deliberate choice by Google.

The r2 works fine for me. I've put it to /system/app … I had to delete the app data to make it run again after a reboot, though.
I have an iPod touch and as Apps are slowly being ported from iOS to Android, making me want to use my phone more.
Anyways, are purchases, including free apps, saved to our account on Google? The App Store stores every app downloaded regardless, free or paid.
Example: App goes free for 24 hours on the App Store. Download it for free. Goes back to 0.99 after 24 hours. You uninstall it. Come back a week later and realize you want it again. Installs without charge or fee.
Example 2: Same as above but it's free first. Download the free version. Uninstall it. Week later you want it back, now its 0.99. Download again, no fee or charge.
The examples are of iOS and how the App Store works. Is the Play Store like that?
Play market doesn't work like that because an app that is free cannot later be charged for so no the market is not like app store in that respect.
However if you buy an app in a sale and uninstall it you can of course reinstall that at no cost and you get a trial period to test apps during which you can cancel the sale.

Nope, google play is more fair to the developers, if the developer decides to ask money for it after giving the app for free you just have to buy it even if you had it installed before when it was free.
Why? as example:
You downloaded monkey app 3.0,
when the developers updates it to version 4.0 and wants to ask money for it they also want everyone to buy it and not just the people who are downloading it for the first time.
A new version of a certain app is not always "Just a update" it could be a whole different app because it's fully rewritten or something like that.
And if you wonder why the play store doesn't offer the older free versions...
The play store doesn't want people to use outdated apps like any other store.

You are basically saying if the developer pulls the free app and then relaunches something similar paid. In that scenario you could get a copy of the apk from when the app was free by either your own Titanium Backup if you use it, or by Googleing for it. Then keep that apk around for other devices, etc. Thats one of the nice things about being able to sideload apks, you are not restricted to what is listed on Google Play.
It's a good move for developers, but not for buyers. Where Apple is good for buyers, not developers.
